Pros: "Very comfortable seats on a new airplane. In premium seats (i.e., business and first 8 rows of economy), there was a good variety of inflight entertainment. The flight was smooth and easy, and you could actually understand the captain on the overhead speaker!"

Not enough beverage services for such a long flight, especially when we weren't able to bring our own water bottles on board (security check at the gate immediately before boarding -- liquids not allowed). Food -- nice to receive two meals, though they were so-so in quality. Half the crew was very friendly; others barely cracked a smile."

Pros: "Our original flight was late arriving, so left late. Did arrive 10 minutes prior to departure time for the connecting flight. They held the flight, which was nice since about 10-15 passengers boarded late. The A330 to San Salvador was OK. An older plane, showing ware. Business seats were average at best."
Cons: "I was told hours before my flight that my flight was delayed due to weather in the NYC area and that the new flight time was two hours later. There were no weather issues at this time. This delay made me miss my connection and the only option was for me to have a 24 hour layover in Bogota, Colombia. As a woman traveling alone this was not acceptable to me but I had no other choice. I got a hotel room for the evening and tried to make the best of it. I was not offered any compensation for this inconvenience, nothing, not even an offer to pay for my hotel room. Similar things happened to three other people in my group that I was meeting in Peru all traveling from different locations. I lost an entire day in Peru because of this. On my return flight Avianca changed the times as well and I was forced to take an earlier fight home the day before I was scheduled to leave. I therefore lost a total of two days of my vacation because of Avianca and they did NOTHING to compensate me for it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AIRLINE!!!"

We were delayed due to technical fault but captain kept us informed and did his best to make up time. Service by cabin crew was adequate, food was pretty poor, seats were cramped and uncomfortable. We fly BA nearly every year and we notice standards dropping generally. That’s a pity for our national carrier! However, florida is our first choice for holidays and we will be back!!!!
Please see previous review. The most uncomfortable airline seats I have ever sat in, and I travel a lot. Forward of vertical, ugh. I will recommend people avoid your airline it was so bad. The rest was good, crew and timing etc.

Pros: "Due to a knee injury, I needed more personal assistance, the custermer service & attention I received was EXCELLENT - from being expedited through the check in, special luggage assistance, special seat selection, wheelchair assistance throughout the security & boarding process to the professionalism by ALL the crew after being diverted to Iceland for a medical emergency of a fellow passenger."

By the time I finally got to Phoenix I have been travelling for over 29h. On top of it all I was charged $45 each, for my baggage as well as my backpack ($90) which I found rediculous!"
