Cons: "It was not acceptable and very disappointed that flight DL391 from SDQ to NY-JFK was delayed till it left at 4:40pm because there were no crew members to bring the aircraft to STO DGO the night before as it is usually done so that the aircraft sleeps over in las Americas. We were at the airport at 4:30am because the flight was scheduled to depart at 6:05am we were lucky to be able to rebook for a flight SDQ-ATL DL576 for the same day hoping to make the connection ATL-IND. Unfotunately that flight was rerouted to Charlotte due to bad weather conditions with a delay of 3 hrs before it landed in ATL thus missing our connection to INDI and had to sleep in ATL and leave the next day to IND thus missing a meeting commitment that we had in IND. We should and expect to be compensated by Delta for this."

The TV screens came done from the ceiling so everyone had to watch same thing. Music channels only played a few songs over and over again. This plane needs to be retired or have major upgrades. Definitely an older plane."

I needed to add my 2,4yr old to my trip.The Aromexico agent wanted to charge me over 1000.00 for the two children, to travel with me even though online the tickets were $200.00.They would not let me book my tickets online because the children were minors even though my ticket was already bought. I ended up purchasing tickets on delta to get to Cancun. However I was under the impression that I would return with Aeromexico on the round trip ticket I had already bought.NO! according to Aeromexico even though you buy a round trip ticket if you fail to use 1 leg of the trip you loose both ways WHAT! Then they refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor it was hands down the worst experience I have ever had with an airline in the 30 yrs that I have been traveling internationally. I would paddle boat rather than use this air again."

Cons: "Aeromexico is a scam. I will never travel with Aeromexico again. When we arrived in Mexico City, MX the airline changed their boarding gate without notification. We were sitting at the original gate for 2 hours only to realize they never called us to board. By the time we got to the correct gate, we were not allowed to board the plane because they said we were late. The plane left at 5:00 p.m and we arrived at the gate at 4:50 p.m. They informed us that we had to purchase new tickets which cost $370 per person. There were 4 of us. After arguing with the Aeromexico representatives and supervisor for over 5 hours and having them check their flight boards they admitted to making the mistake so they changed our flights without charging us, but now our flight leaves the next day at 6:20 a.m. and we will not get to our final destination until 4:15 p.m. So, we have to spend our night sleeping in the airport until our morning flight at no fault of our own. Their customer service is the worse and I've never ever had this kind of travel experience with any other flight. I am fed up, tired, and will be reporting this airline for fraud because many other customers have had the same experience. Never again will I travel with Aeromexico and Kayak should be ashamed to partner with this airline."

It is such a short flight that there were only pretzels and water without ice served on this flight. There was no entertainment on this flight. Small, clean plane for a less that 1 hour flight."

Cons: "It may be La Guardia Airport that is the one to blame and not AA, but long story short I was on the airplane on the ground in NY for about 5 hours. We had a domino effect of things happen that caused us to be delayed and then cancelled. First a Gate change to a different terminal after boarding was suppose to begin so we had to take a shuttle over and we're still missing 50 passengers, Engine problem that required maintenance, refuel because we were in the plane on the ground waiting for so long, deplane and replane for 10 mins because of a law, on the runway and back to the gate for all these different occasions. When they finally let us off the plane after all these hours it was because of weather (although the skies were blue and the pilot was confident it wouldn't be an issue) they didn't actually cancel the flight until 5pm, my flight was suppose to take off at 9am. They were also required by law to give us free snacks Bc we hadn't eaten all day or had fresh air--these were all chips and soda...in gluten free so I had to starve. AA customer relations said they couldn't compensate because the issue that was documented in their records for my flight cancellation was because of "weather"... my flight couldn't be rescheduled until the following afternoon, making me have to cancel work 2 days in a row and pay for multiple taxis and and extra night of boarding. I will NEVER fly AA or La Guardia again."

Was not a fan of the extra time in the holding pattern above Indianapolis, nor the extra time 150 feet from the gate after we landed."

Cons: "Without any explanation...American Airlines cancelled my reservation! I needed to be sent back to poor quality hotel for a night and take a different flight out the next morning. American Airlines was supposed to provide transportation back and forth from the hotel however a car never showed up at the hotel to pick us up and I needed to get my own taxi at the last minute (American did however reimburse me for the taxi fare at the airport). I never received an explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled and was never offered any type of compensation for such a major inconvenience. They dd ultimately waive my 25 bag fee but it wasn't very easy to even get that from them. I felt that they should have been more empathetic towards my inconvenience and offered me any type of compensation to make up for such a horrible experience. When I asked about possibly being upgraded to first class they told me absolutely not! A little graciousness can go a long way, American Airlines showed that they could not care less about my inconvenience (other than Rodrigo at the counter the next morning who actually showed he was truly sorry for the situation and at least ended up moving me to a row with more legroom). Other than this, I was extremely disappointed with this experience and how it was handled."

When the gate I was waiting at finally showed the flight information to Toledo, I had to find what gate I my flight was now on and had fifteen minutes to make it to the correct gate. Had the original gate displayed the new information any later I would have missed my flight."

Cons: "When first boarding the plane, the person I was with tried to close the shade on the window, the with frame and the first 2 pieces of glass popped out. We notified the flight attendant and his response was "can you stick your arm out the window and wave? No... ok you're fine" then we were notified the bathrooms in the middle of the plane were out of order and we could only use the bathrooms at the rear of the plane. There was no WiFi, and the audio system for the on board movies wasn't working. The flight attendants were only giving out cups of beverages and not the full can, which isnt a big deal but still looks bad on the airline considering everywhere flight with American has handed out full cans of soda. The perception was American dropped the ball on the his plane, and just didn't care to do the necessary maintenance. For the his head priced paid for the his hehe see tickets I would've expected better from a reputable airline. Needless to say we were a little disappointed."

They mostly just stayed in the back talking to each other. The pilot didn't greet us. Just stood there when we walked in. And there was a kid screaming for most of the trip. My seat was broken and wouldn't recline. This was my first trip flying, and on the trip to Miami I flew with Delta. The service with them was tremendously better. I was really disappointed."

So hence the Comfort was great on this flight. But the tool needs to make it much more clear as to what you are selecting the upgrade for. Food, there has got to be something else out there other than pretzels, I understand why we do not have peanuts, but a little bit more variety would be very nice. I understand there's a cost tractor, but often pretzels tend to be fairly stale. Short flights entertainment."

I went to the counter and was told my CC wasn't charged, and the lady told me she could not help me. She informed me to go upstairs to the "Resolutions" desk. I went to the "Resolutions" desk and waited about 30 minutes in a long line. I got to the counter and after 15 minutes, the clerk swiped my CC again for my 1 bag I needed to check. I asked for a receipt and I was told the printer doesn't work. The clerk proceeded to get a manager and 10 minutes later, I received a receipt. The majority of the staff seemed to be incompetent. After checking my online banking transactions a few days later, I noticed my CC was charged twice. My gate had already been changed twice and flight was delayed. I went through TSA and then found out the gate was changed AGAIN for the third time in less than 2 hours. This time it was at a DIFFERENT terminal. I was thinking I was going to have to go through TSA again, but luckily I decided to ask and found out there was a shuttle which I struggled to find. The flight then was further delayed another 45 minutes. We finally boarded the plane and sat in the plane for another 1 hour before it took off due to delays. Not to mention it was an old plane which was the most uncomfortable I've ever been on. What a nightmare."

The third announcement was the one I felt was highly inappropriate when she then stated "I DONT KNOW IF YOUVE BEEN WATCHING THE NEWS LATELY, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE TURBULANCE IS GOING TO GET WORSE" frankly I have been watching the news lately and there is plane CRASHES on the news. My husband is afraid of flying and that announcement was terrifying, even for someone who is not afraid to fly. There has to be some sort of protocol of verbage to use when the turbulance is getting bad, because to insinuate the plane could crash to get your point across is crossing the line. I have been on planes where the turbulance is a lot worse and felt this was really out of line."

They have asked to file claim which will also take 8-10 weeks to process. All these experiences has made me and my friends not to prefer United Airlines for Travel."

The Cancun airport crew, including Paz and Raphael, worked with US consulate (on a day they are typically closed) to get permission for him to board the return flight. The plane was cramped and there was trash by my seat probably from a previous flight. Also, I did not get to sit by my travel companion."

Pros: "It is apparent that United is working to improve their customer service and efficiency - factors which have deterred me from using United in the past. FROM SFO TO CANCUN: First of all, the check-in procedure is very quick these days. At SFO, there is a curb-side check in, which also allows customers to pay the baggage fee and drop off the bag right there. I've used this in the past during busy airport hours. This time, I flew overnight, so I used the self-check kiosks in front of the check-in counters to check-in, pay the baggage fee, and print my ticket. I used the check-in line to check in my suitcase. The line was so minimal and moved so quickly, (as did security), I was at the gate in 30 min (from the SFO BART station). I rarely fly United because the check-in lines used to be very long and slow. In the past, I've missed more than one flight due to extraordinarily long check-in lines. I'm glad to see on the last 3 flights I've taken with United, this has changed for the better. FROM CANCUN TO SFO: I was happy to see that Cancún also has kiosks for self-check-in. It wouldn't allow me to check my bag, though, and I had to wait in a slow line to do so. Still, a much improved check-in compared to past experiences. *I should note: the slow line had 8 people in it and took 25 minutes. With many people, United Cancun lines have been known to take over 2 hrs. This was a Thursday afternoon on January 8. I'm not sure what the line would have looked like the Saturday before . . . BOTH FLIGHTS: The stewardesses did come by several times (as opposed to once on other airlines), offering water, which was appreciated. Finally, United tends to offer multiple flights at cheaper prices and more convenient times than other airlines. However, I still prefer flying other airlines - despite the increased cost - for the reasons below."
Cons: "United planes are older, outdated, and very small. The video system on the back of the headrest in front of me did not work on either flight (there or back), and no snack of any kind was offered on the afternoon 4.5 hr flight back from Cancun to SFO. A mini bag of salted peanuts were offered on the overnight flight from SFO to Cancun. But these were the least of my concerns. Deplaning was slow and long when we arrived at Cancun. We waited with the plane door closed, and the air off, for about 10 minutes. It was a hot, humid, uncomfortable wait. Deplaning took a long time due to the small, cramped seats (see description below). On the return flight to SFO, we waited on the runway in line with other planes. While this is not the fault of United, it did make passengers more anxious to deplane. Opening the plane doors took a long time, and exiting the plane even longer because people were slow getting out of their seats and recovering their bags from the storage bins. I saw people struggling to crab-walk out to the isle on "dead legs" (the floor space between seats is so minimal, no one can stand up straight, and must grab the seat in front of him/her to shuffle out to the isle - a difficult task for the elderly, or when carrying purses as big as carry-ons, sleeping toddlers, or babies). The seats were extraordinarily hard and small on both flights. I fit in the seat just fine, but had no leg space, and could not recline. In effect, I was forced to fly the entire time in an upright position, sitting on a rock-hard seat that felt like thin plastic-leather stretched over metal bars. I'm a young 40yr old traveler of normal size (5'4") and health (135 lbs), yet it was extremely uncomfortable sitting on that seat with no way to redistribute weight. I had pain in my legs for over 24 hrs after flying United from Cancun to SFO. I flew 6 round trips to Miami and Mexico City last year from SFO and never had this happen. I've flown to Peru and Miami direct - and much more comfortably - on other airlines. I will not choose a direct flight over 2 hrs on United again, and will continue to choose other airlines whenever possible."

I greatly appreciated everyone's effort to go the extra mile and the Mexican staff was beyond helpful especially since I was coordinating this all from the US with broken Spanish"

I managed to leave the airport and return, waiting for several flights I was finally able to fly standby with a layover into Mexico DF and on to Cancun. The most frustrating part was on the second morning people were being offered $500 and hotel rooms to give up their seats on an over booked flight yet no compensation or accommodation was offered for the delays I had been through. When asked point blank if I could have this same offer I was suddenly found to be able to fit on the next flight. Overall extremely flustered with united"

Guillermo Delgado is the most rude, demeaning, aweful person of any airline. When he wasn't roaming the line of ticketing agents kissing the female agents and flirting he was talking on his radio all the while the other agents were processing 10 customers or more to his one. Once we finally got to our turn he was rude and demeaning refusing to check are bags unless we paid him extra money despit being presented with out confirmation stating the first bag was included as it was an international flight. He demanded money under threat of arrest by Mexican police which he stated were his close friends. After buying the bag fees on my credit card he demanded additional funds in cash. Again under threat of arrest. He then stated he would not allow us to fly if we were not immediately compliant which we were. He finally gave us boarding passes and we escaped Mexico ... We will never return. We have traveled the world and never experienced anything like this."
