Had to attempt to cram in sideways - resulting in serious pain by the time the flight finally landed. Intercom system, especially from the captain, was painfully grating and loud. Boarding was extremely slow, in part because gate personnel made no effort whatsoever to police and enforce the four-group boarding process (premium - no carry-on - group A - group B). People boarded whenever they felt like it, many carrying on huge backpacks and multiple other pieces. Will definitely avoid TAP in future."

Cons: "They charged me $90 for my luggage. Several weeks or perhaps even months after I booked, I received an e-mail saying I had booked Super Cheap Economy or some such. It had a link to pay for 'additional services' but not luggage. At the time of booking, I checked and the price given was $35. So, I have protested the additional $55 with my CC company and will see what happens. BTW the luggage was not overweight. They turned off all the lights, including my personal reading lamp, so I could not read and had to just sit there doing nothing. That really blew big chunks. I only got two small glasses of wine."

Portugal deserves a better airline than this one. Last the best of all, $90 dollars per bag we checked in, so we spent $360 dollars just to carry our luggage."

My wife's seat didn't recline because it was broken. And to top it all off they lost one of our luggage tags because the lady in Miami tagged the bag with somebody else's name and destination on it. Still waiting to hear if I'm going to have my luggage for one year anniversary vacation....!"

Afterwards we saw the crew eating while we were left with no food or drink service. We then discovered that since they were short one crew member the crew would not serve food or drinks for "safety concerns". It turns out they could have served but preferred to adhere to their union under the guise of passenger safety and remain seated the entire flight doing crossword puzzles and the like which definitely made me feel much safer."

Cons: "We were in first class, and no On Demand IFE!!! You do have a personal screen in the seatback, but they only play continual loop movies. For us, we started with one movie, but then due to technical difficulties, the crew had to reboot the entire system. So once it was back up and running, they switched the movie. And even that one didn't play through....apparently, at some point they determine its "bedtime" and turn off the IFE!! Crazy in this day and age!!! Also, the plane is old and REALLY worn. Lots of dirt, tired seats, yucky bathrooms, etc. This plane needs an overhaul!! No storage anywhere in the seats either, which was shocking. And the angle lay flat seats are certainly fantastic in comparison to Coach seats, but still hard to sleep and get comfortable."

The airplane was a 737 that had seen some time in the sky so it was showing wear. Also, no entertainment; personal or public. The crew was super nice and it was a shorter flight so that was good.

The food was undesirable given that there were no vegetarian options. Upon disembarking the aeroplane looked like a tornado went through it because the attendants did not pick up from the passengers before the flight landed (perhaps it was not part of their job, if so...my apologies )"
Cons: "The boarding process was so extensive and repetitive. We were taken to the plane in the middle of the tarmac in sweltering heat and had to stand outside and wait to board the plane. The heat once inside the plane was unbearable and uncomfortable. My seat didn't recline, so I wasn't able to fully relax. Although I can for the crew, English may not be their first language. It needs to be ensured that the English of the crew member making the announcements is understandable. There were so many announcements but the English was rendered unintelligible for the most part. One of the baggage for one of my family members was not there on our arrival but we've since been notified that it has been found and well be sent to us"

Cons: "A whole bank of monitors (at least 6, maybe more that I could not see behind me) in the center part of the cabin was non-functional during the entire 7 hour flight, despite one crew member promising to restart or reboot the system. While he did eventually reboot, it made no difference. The monitors did not work the entire flight."

Cons: "Royal Air Maroc canceled both their outward and inbound flights on two separate occasions resulting in 2 X 30 minutes calls to my airline for them to fix it. For the returning flight it meant putting me on another airline resulting in a long stopover without any additional compensation."

Instead of offering any help, it was down to us to call their call centre and ask for them to do something about it. At first they didn’t even understand their own cancellation and in the end they refused to do anything. We had to get lastminute.com to sort it for us, and in the end we got our money back. Only after chasing for a second time though! Definitely would not recommend this airline."

Cons: "Check-in took 35-45 mins. See one person working while the other 3 sat around. On CMN-IAD leg i Got two cups of water with meal. Asked twice after meal and both flight attendants said ok but never returned with any. 2 hrs later I got up to get some water and went to galley and asked FA's for some. They didn't speak, they acted like I was bothering them and one pointed to the cups and water bottles...directing me to get my own. Never had that happen before and I fly often. US Air carriers typically have water Service at least once an hour. This flight it only occurred during meal Service, which was twice during entire 7.5 hour flight. Flight going IAD-CMN wasn't any better. I fell sick due to dehydration on the flight. Had same issue with not getting water on flight. Don't think I'll book Royal Air Maroc again."

I was directed to wait, then directed in circles all over the airport for different people to try and help me. Ultimately I ended up in a hotel room around 5am where i am now until my flight at 23:25 tonight. It was annoying and a hassle overall not just for myself but everyone involved including those who patiently tried to help but didn't really know where to send me as well as my driver and family waiting for me in Sierra Leone."

Cons: "I was told in Casablanca by the check in staff that my checked bags would go all the way to my final destination of Washington, DC, but they were offloaded to a NYC carousel during my first stop to the US. I wasn't told this was going to happen. The lady at Air Maroc said someone told us as we walked off the plane, but I was told it was said intermittently. So I missed it. I was lucky someone told me that it happened. Also the woman from Air Maroc that I rechecked my bags to was so apathetic to what happened. I said I was lodging a complaint - she was smirking and didn't care. It was pretty off putting. All I said was I suggest the announcement is made before you get off the airplane - like when the captain or flight staff announces the gates to connections. It was pretty disappointing."
Pros: "Food was great as usual. It was free. It was not a full flight so I had a chance to lie down and get some much needed sleep. I had arrived at Dakar airport at 12am for a 6:40 flight because of the strike. My friends in Dakar suggested that I get their that early. So I had no sleep. I was able to check 2 bags without a fee."
Cons: "We were not informed prior to arrival at airport that there was a crew strike. And that there was a possibility that our flight would be affected. The flight was delayed for 2 hours with no announcements. I had a Mauritanian necklace that I bought while in Senegal 30 years ago. And the female searcher gave me a hard time, would not let me pass through inspection and reported me to her superiors. She insisted that there was something inside of my necklace. It was only when I got nasty with her in French, did she finally let me pass through so I could wait at the boarding gate. I spoke to others who were on their way to Lagos and other parts of Africa who had waited at airport for 2 days with no accommodations."
