It's a budget airfare for a reason. Don't expect much and hope you get to your destination and home on time and in one piece.
For no obvious reason. Flight delayed 1 hour. Parked on tarmac. A lot of turbulence. Crew was nice. I really try not to use this airline overall.
2 hours late they charge me for my 16kg luggage $125 dollars and also before that I pay $41 online for 15kg and they said I didn't pay
Departure Flight time kept changing. The only non-stop flight was at 8:45 pm. They need to provide at least one option of an earlier non-stop departure time for people that work the following day.

During check in, the staff member indicated he did not speak English and proceeded in Spanish. We were not told how to get to our gate. I would have appreciated all announcements (no matter how unimportant) to be translated into English. Custom forms were not offered in English to customers so I had to ask. There was no in flight entertainment which I knew ahead of time. It wasn’t clear customers had to purchase food or drink. Complimentary cups of water would have been nice for a 4 hour flight. Also the leg room was unbearable especially if the customer in front reclined their seat (which happened to me)

When we finally landed in Chicago we were about 5 hours behind schedule. I feel bad for the crew because they were left dealing with angry passengers, I know it wasn't their fault. Just poor corporate planning. In addition I did have a truly mind boggling experience with an employee. We were lined up for our first boarding, in a huge line, having waited for 1.5 hours, and suddenly a woman with multiple bags cut in line. I said "Excuse me ma'am but there IS a line" and she smiled and said "Oh, sorry, I'm an employee". I apologized and she cut everyone and boarded. That's when I realized that she was NOT WORKING THE FLIGHT. She was just using her privilege to cut in line. She cut in front and saved maybe 5 minutes. I mean, why bother. Why bother pissing off paying customers to save 5 minutes. People around me were so angry. Then she got on the flight and held everything up because she needed to load her 4 pieces of luggage into the overhead bin, taking up an entire bin. Flight crew actually moved people's bags to accommodate her. And one of her bags was a full sized suitcase that would never have been allowed if she wasn't an employee. Simply ridiculous, the only thing saving her was that there were open seats. She was not taking a seat from a paying customer. I would say that I wouldn't fly Frontier again but honestly all of the companies suck so I don't know who to pick. Every airline has some story or another of crappy customer service. I wish the barrier for entry wasn't so high so that competitors could swoop in....as much as I dislike the Elon Musk's of the world it would be great if some billionaire swooped in with their money and made an airline that actually worked."

To start, Frontier does not include any carry-ons with the flight, so either we pay $70.00 round trip for a bag or we have to shove everything we want for our trip into a "personal bag". We checked in about 24 hours before the flight and realized only after we had already waited in line for security that we needed printed paper boarding passes rather than using our phones (like every other airline). Luckily, we didn't wait until the last minute to show up, so we could go back, re-check in, wait in line for security a second time, and make it to our gate. Once boarded, things turned even worse when we realized that the seats on this Airbus were nothing more than very thin plastic with a very small amount of cushion, making the metal folding chairs from my youth seem preferable. In addition, while planes are not necessarily known for being comfortable, even the small conveniences of other planes were missing. These seats had no entertainment devices, terribly positioned armrests, a tray table that would barely hold my iPhone, no option to recline at all, and so little room ahead of us that my knees were pushed against the seat ahead of me. I was offered some respite when the flight attendant said that the flight was completely boarded but there were some exit row seats available. We were told that the attendants would "be happy to move you to a seat with a little more leg room and would be happy to swipe your card for the $50.00 charge". Really? $50.00 for an upgrade to an exit row? Generally, any flight I have been on will give a free upgrade or two if these seats are vacant. Nobody is there anyway, so why not offer them to give a sense of friendliness to your customers? You are not making any money on those seats anyway. On a roughly four hour flight, there were drinks and snacks offered, but their special was 2 cans of soda and a snack (peanuts or trail mix) for 9.00. Water, soda, and all snacks were an extra charge... Bottom line, this was a terrible experience with a terrible airline. If I have anything to say about it, I will never fly with Frontier again."

Cons: "It is an Airbus, but a bus is more comfortable. The seats are hard and cramped. The base price may be great, but be aware they charge for extra for everything including carry-on if it does not fit under the seat."
Pros: "The flights were exactly on time, and the crews were very friendly. The boarding process was appreciated because people with carry on bags are allowed to board first, which helps with overhead compartment space."
Cons: "The hidden seat assignment and carry on baggage fees were unexpectedly high (at least $11 to get a seat and $30 for a carry on bag, both one way, and apparently both fees would have been higher if I had paid at the airport). I ended up paying $88 on top of the price of the ticket, which would have been nice to know for budgeting purposes."

EVERYTHING had a cost. the crew wasn't friendly, i wasn't greeted at either flight. i will neve fly frontier and i will sharing my experience with all of my family and friends."

Very disappointed, I needed to pay not only for checking in a bag but to bring on a carry-on and to reserve a any seat prior to boarding. It added an extra $88 to my flight (nearly doubled my fare). They even charged for soda and water on the flight !!!"

When I arrived at the check in counter to see if another flight was available, the only other option would have gotten me there after 2 stopovers. I was headed to a wedding and had to make the rehearsal dinner. The woman at the Kayak counter suggested that I try to get a new flight with a different airline. I did, and transferred airports. The next day, I received a note that my entire itinerary was cancelled because i had missed one leg of my trip. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with the help desk (who were very nice, but wouldn't budge) i was unable to get anywhere. Then, I had to buy another one way flight home to make it to work the next day. I will never fly Spirit again."

She sent me to another line, then they sent me to another line so he could say no refunds I should have read the fine print..... KICKER TO ALL THIS I MISS MY AUNTS FUNERAL AND THAT FLIGHT WAS DELAYED ONE HOUR... if they had pretended to do some customer service I'd have made my flight and her funeral."

I realize that's not entirely the airlines fault, but it is their fault for thinking that it takes close to 3 hours to fly from NOLA to Chicago when it really only takes a little over 2 hours. So of course O'Hare didn't have a gate ready when we arrived 40 minutes early."

Cons: "Was told the only flight I would be guaranteed a seat on to Chicago was not until 36 hours later- So I bought a new ticket on a different airline to go home."

Cons: "Spirit has lower costs, but at a price. To check a bag is another $50, and $55 to carry it on, and while you can get discounts on this if you sign up to be an awards member with Spirit and manage it PRIOR to your flight, this was not explained anywhere in my original booking. Food and beverages are SO overpriced - it's clearly a major profit center for Spirit. The plane was not comfortable. Very tightly crowded, seats do not recline, no back pockets for storage, no entertainment or WiFi - bare bones comfort. At the Las Vegas airport, we waited in line to check our bags at the Spirit counter (the only option for bag checking) after signing in at the Kiosk for over 40 minutes, and at 45 minutes until our flight was about to take off, finally took our boarding passes so we could go through Security. If Security had been busy, we would have missed our flight. This was NOT handled well as they kept calling other flights to "jump" the line. Basically, Spirit touts a lower-cost airline for a small downgrade in comfort. In reality, it is a very SLIGHTLY lower-cost airline with a major downgrade in convenience and comfort. I will not be selecting Spirit again."

Cons: "Don't like all the extra charges but now that I know how the system works maybe the next time it will be less. This is a no bells and whistles airline. Just gets you from one destination to another. That's fine by me."
Pros: "Jan 2 flight was cancelled due to crew issues. Spirit refunded me and said I would have to find another flight with another carrier. They could not get me to Chicago till Jan 5 which was unacceptable. As soon as I use my mileage points I am done with spirit. They don't leave on time and this has been going on for years"
Cons: "The seats were much more confined than flight to phoenix, I asked if I could occupy empty seats behind me, I was told no by flight attendant, medical purposes, yet one of them occupied during flight. I was very uncomfortable and in physical pain afterwatd, I will pay more $$ next time for extra room in other airline. I was also charged twice for reserving carry on luggage. Paying extra to eliminate these factors will be worth it too me."

Cons: "Primitive boarding procedure nearly caused us to miss the flight. Kiosks won't print your boarding pass within 45 minutes of your flight time, even if you are checked into your flight. And Spirit does not permit you to use a boarding pass on your phone, you must waste natural resources & print. Unfortunately, we had a problem while returning our rental car, so we were later to the kiosk than planned. So, we had to wait in line to ask an employee at the counter to print out boarding passes. Thanks to the kind passengers of LAX airport letting us jump in line several times, we made our flight just as doors closed."

Cons: "We thought we found a great price for a quit trip to visit our new niece. We were totally wrong. Spirit charged us more than then the industry norm for a checked bag. I had tried to check it in early online but their mobile functionality doesn't handle payments. So that was $50. When we arrived they were highly disorganized and it wasn't clear what line to get into. Let's just assume that's just part of an airport experience. We get to the gate, and see that the flight has been delayed an hour. We decide to hang out there and learn over the intercom that the flight was delayed 2 more hours. Did they update the screen? Nope. Less than 20 minutes later they were boarding. It gets better though! After partly boarding the flight, they made everyone get out. We were grounded for a long time before and after landing without adequate information from the pilot on why or for how long. Finally when it got to the point I was going to pass out they wouldn't give me water because "I had the entire flight to make a purchase." Never again!! Never!!!"

Was not given my flight info, had to call for it because the online log in said "no itineraries found" when I did have a flight so I had to call and be on hold for 20 minutes before someone would email me my itinerary. Seats do not go back. Flight pricing, I felt tricked and like I was scammed. Nothing is included. Everything is so expensive."

Pros: "I would rate entertainment as excellent, if by 'entertainment' you mean the ridiculous organization and communication of the staff. THey issued the wrong boarding pass to all passengers on a chicago bound flight, guided us to the wrong gate, and mistakenly told us that the flight was cancelled, when in fact it was a different flight that was cancelled. This led to many passengers booking new flights or going home."
Cons: "The flight to Chicago was delayed 1 hour. I had an horrible experience with the return flight, they first delayed it 2 hours, then 3 hours, then 4 hours... I spent 5 hours in the airport before I gave up on them and cancelled my flight back. I had to buy a ticket from another company.... Also the ticket price is misleading because they charge you for carry-on luggage (like 50 USD). During the flight they even charge you for water, which is free in other airlines :-("

Cons: "I would never fly this airline again. I like to think I'm a pretty reasonable person when it comes to customer service, last minute changes, and things like that. Checking in was no problem. Our flight had already been delayed so I was prepared for a longer wait. As I sat there, the flight got delayed two additional times. Ok, no big deal, but when customers were asking why the attendants could not tell us. When asked a general time we would be boarding, people were told "when the captain gives us the OK." Finally, we boarded almost 4 hours later when the delay stated only 2 hours. The plane was OK, but the attendants were far from pleasant. I was OK with no Tvs, baggage prices, and all of that because I was aware beforehand, but the way the staff acted was completely disgusting. After finally getting Chicago, I waited almost 45 minutes for my bags. When I called my car to tell them the delay they replied that Spirit had been backed up all day. Why? No one really knew. On the way back from Chicago to Boston, the flight was set to board at 1:09 pm. The airport was extremely busy, so I did not get through security until about 1:40. I ran to the gate only to see that they hadn't boarded yet. No updated on their website of the delay and nothing sent to my email. We didn't actually board until about 2pm, and then had to wait an additional 30 minutes on the plane because one of the attendants was late getting on. So now, it is about 2:45 and we are finally taking off-originally scheduled at 1:54 with NO updates sent to the customers on the delay. No one explained the delay and no one could give a time when we would take off. A few people tried to call the airline to explain their concerns and were abruptly hung up on. The least Spirit could have done is listened to their concerns and gave an apology. I will never, EVER fly this airline, and I suggest you don't either."

Cons: "seats are too cramped. Passenger behind me kept kicking my seat the entire time (and she was a grown woman). People leaving the fight need to be told to be orderly. I had to calm down a verbal confrontation between two men because one guy try to rush from off from the back of the plane and bumped into another man. Crew did nothing, if I wouldn't have stopped the confrontation it may have gotten ugly."
Cons: "CARRY-ONS cost money. They cost more money if you don't buy them ahead of time. It costs extra to CHECK IN WITH AN AGENT. The airline is not upfront about any of this. These charges supposedly keep the cost of the ticket low: You only pay for exactly what you want (ie: if you don't have carry-ons, you can get away with paying less.). This is bullshit. They charge for WATER— tap water— on the plane. It is purely a money making scheme. They don't have repeat customers because they are awful. Oh and the seats are tinier than any flight I've ever been on. Truly the worst flying experience of my life."

The return flight got cancelled for no reason and we did not hear from the airlines not did they offer a solution on their own. We had to call and make you put us on a flight for the same day. I would not use you again."
