Pros: "United/ LH first called it a mechanical delay....we waited....then the weather caused this mini plane not to take off....long story short...we had to stay in a hotel...nobody gave us a voucher...our helped us with anything....very poor service"

Cons: "The whole trip was a nightmare. I go out of my way to NOT fly United, In this case Lufthansa somehow just sold the ticket and United was flying it and as usual it was horrendous. We had to be re-routed via 3 separate flights jus to make our international connection thanks to our initial flight being moved up 2 hours EARLY. They closed the door in our faces. That added 8 hours of travel time to our trip which I had booked to minimize travel time as I was traveling with pets. United is the WORST."

They even hand out wet wipes for you before serving food, so you can feel clean! I felt like the seats were pretty normal in terms of size and space in economy class, but obviously, it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more space. Good entertainment options."

Pros: "Lufthansa is one of the better airlines, especially when flying to Germany. They offer a very good service in the economy class which includes free wine (and not only sodas) and a large selection of free newspapers which I value a lot. Newspapers are much more interesting to read than watching movies in my personal opinion. Overall, when aboard Lufthansa, one does not have the feeling of cheapness seen so often on competing airlines. A few years ago, when flying from San Diego to New York, a 5 hour flight on a major US carrier, passengers were not even offered a free drink. Everything had to be paid for. In comparison, all food and all drinks are free on Lufthansa which includes not only wine but also Baileys (a sweet liquor). Given the excellent service, ticket prices charged by Lufthansa are a bargain even if at a small premium over the competition."

Pros: "The flight attendants were good - they run a tight ship, both from a safety perspective and looking out for the passengers. That said, they should have allowed me to move to any open seat, except first class, to accommodate any passenger with broken equipment at the seat they selected."
Cons: "This old plane had broken seats with broken entertainment equipment. After changing seats twice, my ultimate seat still had a loud buzz in the sound system. The flight attendants should be allowed to seat an inconvenienced passenger in any open seat in the event of broken equipment. Space in the seats was ridiculously tight for a 7 hr international flight."

You were literally laying on the passenger next to you! They also didnt allow people with children, babies to do advanced boarding it took up so much time! I payed for extra leg room on my return flight which was cancelled by the way due to weather then they gave upgrades to others for free..! While the return flight was delayed I was kept in airport for 8hrs before they cancelled it also unpleasant! That section of the airport had no food, all United Airlines offered us while waiting was sodas! Really? not again will i fly international with UA!"

Cons: "TAP Airlines stranded us in Lisbon. They were late flying us from Vienna to Lisbon and then canceled our seats on our connection to JFK. Instead, they rebooked us on the next day's flight a full 24 hours after, refusing to rebook us on earlier flights on other carriers. Their customer service was as bad as I've ever experienced. Multiple agents admitted their company is terrible and doesn't care about its customers. The indifference to our situation was surreal. Lesson learned."

While checking in we attempted to upgrade 3 tickets to first class and were sent to 3 different areas in the airport with our luggage, having to wait in line each time. Didn’t provide vegaterian options on board. Weren’t given a gate ever after landing 5 hours late and were kept on board for half an hour making us miss a 2nd connection we had to rebook after the initial delay. A frustrating experience hat could have been made better with just some communication about what was going on."

The luggage restrictions were never shown previously. Will never fly TAP Portugal again."

Cons: "I purposely got a seat in the front row for extra leg room next to my two friends whose tickets I paid for. The TV in my seat was broken and I therefore could not at all watch TV unless I moved to another seat. I ended up not being able to sit with my friends for the entire seven-hour flight. The flight was delayed multiple times. The first time it was delayed because they were doing an extra security search by hand in the Gated area awaiting to board the plane. I have never seen this in my life and it was definitely started. Then we were on board the plane for almost an hour before they made an announcement that they found a broken part on the plane and had to switch planes. It was all very fishy. Quite frankly that I want my money back."

Pros: "I had a flight from Madrid --> Lisbon airport with a final connection from Lisbon --> NYC JFK and we were delayed in Madrid therefore arriving at boarding time of our other flight in Lisbon. The crew was so professional and prepared that when we landed in Lisbon there was a bus that brought about 25 of us who were connecting with final destination to JFK to the closest door to go through passport control and board onto our flight to JFK that they held for a good 30-45 minutes until all of us made our connection. Very professional and organized. Much appreciated that I didn't miss my final connection! Love flying TAP and will continue to do so!"

This was my first flight with TAP Portugal and I will certainly by happy to fly with them again. The next time, I'm going to take advantage of their offer to stop over in Lisboa."

They finally got most of the TV sets to work but we could only watch one movie that has several glitches (restating the movie after 15 minutes and volumes had to constantly be adjusted). The good options were limited for a pregnant women (sordfish - high in Mercury, turkey sandwich - not supposed to ear cold cuts, and meatballs (I unfortunately dint eat beef). I should have opted for the vegetarian meal but I wasn't pregnant when I booked my flight and the crew could not accommodate me. Also I think the should have servered one more round of drinks for a ver long flight)."

I'm always shocked by this kind of behavior in some flight attendants. Why didn't she just say, "I'm sorry. We aren't serving hot drinks now"?"

The entertainment system never got reset properly and did not function for the rest of the 4+ hour flight."

The Toronto immigration processing was cumbersome and time consuming, took us about an hour plus to clear customs which left us just enough time to make it to the gate for our connection flight to EWR. The process could be improved to allow for us to decompress enough to allow for a more relaxed connection flight."

Cons: "The flight was delayed twice, and then when we boarded, were told that the flight would be delayed again . . . and then informed that the flight was canceled. The staff did not know what was happening, and kept us on the plane for almost 2 hours, before letting us off and telling us there were no hotels available. It was a nightmare experience transferring in Toronto. The crew did what they could, but they were largely kept in the dark too."

Cons: "My July 11 fiight UA1259 was delayed and I could not connect to Milan. I had to stay in Newark for 1 night. But UA assigned me a hotel about 1 hour driving from Newark Airport. I had to rent by my own money $160 a day. UA should arraign a hotel either close to the airport or pay the rental car for me."

Cons: "Plane sat on rinway in Newark. For 4 hours before takeoff with no explanation provided. I miissed my connection to Dubrovnik. I was flown from munich to frankfurt and then to zagreb. I was put up in a very low class hotel. I aarived in dubrovnik at noon the following day. This caused me great anxiety and aggravation and a losd of a full day of vacation."

Pros: "Free upgrade to Economy + (more legroom) , I even did not know why I have been cerdited toget it, bit I definitely lieked it. I also liked the option to volunteer for check our carry-on at the gate. Coffe and snck quite adequte for th short journey"

Cons: "A 2 hour delay at 9:20pm at night is unfortunate yet frustrating experience, especially when we moved our flight up due to a travel warning for EWR (ironically enough, our originally scheduled flight (1922 MCO-EWR). I'm giving an overall OK (instead of good) due to the fact that there were no snacks (although I did not want anything, it didn't go unnoticed) and although there was free inflight entertainment for personal devices, I feel the passengers should have been given free internet access - in my opinion, it would have been the appropriate thing to do. In any case, this experience doesn't change my positive opinion of United."

Were any of the "lunch" items available? "No, we only have snack items on this flight." But it's during lunch time... "It's not a long enough flight." WHO COULD MAKE THIS UP? We declined to complain for fear we would be thrown from the plane. Oh yes, I have 1,800,000 miles on United."

A few moments later she came back on reprimanding that "THIS IS NOT A JOKE YOU NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH YOUR SEAT BELTS FASTENED" which was still ok. The third announcement was the one I felt was highly inappropriate when she then stated "I DONT KNOW IF YOUVE BEEN WATCHING THE NEWS LATELY, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE TURBULANCE IS GOING TO GET WORSE" frankly I have been watching the news lately and there is plane CRASHES on the news. My husband is afraid of flying and that announcement was terrifying, even for someone who is not afraid to fly. There has to be some sort of protocol of verbage to use when the turbulance is getting bad, because to insinuate the plane could crash to get your point across is crossing the line. I have been on planes where the turbulance is a lot worse and felt this was really out of line."

Didn't even help me upgrade when I was willing to pay for it. The worst of it all was the nonsense that their customer service kept spewing. Brushed and straight up lied to. There, the staff was a little more helpful and gave us a new stroller (very small, not close to ours, but we used it anyway). I had to call many times until I reach a spanish speaker that showed concern for our problem and finally found our stroller and sent it to our hotel."

I was placed on 2 other flights with 2 other airlines and wasn't notified until AFTER I was already checking in with another airline (this is also after calling the airlines regarding the cancellation, several hours before heading to the airport). Worst experience. Do not recommend."

Pros: "Nonstop flight! Nice and cool on the plane. The movies/entertainment were pretty good. Flight attendants were pleasant. This flight had its own security line at the airport! No waiting at all to go through security."
Cons: "It was delayed about 2 hours. The boarding process was a bit chaotic- partly because of the layout of the airport. The waiting area was small so it got congested quickly when 3 flights were boarding at the same time. Even though United checked us in by group number, we had to board a bus to get to the plane. So, the group number system wasn't really enforced when we actually got on the plane -- more like first come, first served at that point. First class and business class did get to go ahead on a different bus. We also had to climb stairs from the tarmac - could be an issue for the disabled."

Cons: "Flight was delayed due to air traffic control issues so I only had 40 min layover to get to my next gate. Also when we arrived we were on the ground for a long time before we could pull up to gate to unload. I have a 3 yr old & 5 yr old & had to run to make it. We made it but luggage didn't. My first luggage was delivered quickly, the 2nd luggage arrived 3 days after we arrived home."

Pros: "Seating is so close you can count the hairs on the passenger in front of you. Tray is too close to you and uncomfortable to even eat or drink anything. Overseas and international seating needs to be larger than short domestic flights."
