Comfortable flight. Lots of space.
Had a brillant flight from LAX and the lady that check us in at LAX on the vs6848 flight to Manchester was outstanding ! And deserves recognition! She was patient with when we were paniced about us been late and havibg five chikdren under five...she kept us clam... reassured us and booked our bags..ensure my elderly mother had assistance and also waited for my husband who had gone to the toilet and jad got himself lost in the airport. We made it to the plan on time... please fjnd that lady as I really want her to be recognized The plane was of high standard and we got the seats thats worked well with our large family My email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you need more information.

Cons: "Crew members are a bit bland and lack customer service, but I noticed that as a whole in Australia (slow service/not really interactive or communicative & very quick to make comments and leave) not sure if they just hate Americans based on the media or what. One crew member cut in line at the restroom when there was 3 of us waiting to go. Another told me my husband couldn’t receive his meal because he was napping and then he quickly walked away— Yet i received mine on the flight coming to Australia when my husband asked for me? Sanitation between flights should be more strict-my headphones were opened which lead me to believe my pillow wasn’t changed either, since one had a case and one didn’t."

Cons: "I paid extra for Economy Delight seats for me and my wife. Shortly after take-off, our calm and comfortable more or less empty section of the aircraft was colonised by an extended family of Orthodox Jews in a kind of airborne West Bank situation. They weren’t in our section of the cabin at all to start with, and I don’t know why they were apparently able to get a free upgrade that I had to pay £100 for. We went from being in an almost empty cabin to being basically sat in the middle of an Orthodox Jewish kindergarten. It was awful! They were noisy, messy, were constantly getting in and out of their seats, the back of my seat kept getting kicked, and there was even a baby crawling around the aisle. We were surrounded. I have no idea whether this is characteristic of Orthodox Jewish family life, or just a completely inconsiderate family. They didn’t exactly ruin my flight, but they didn’t make it enjoyable either. I asked to be moved. The cabin crew were great and acknowledged the difficulty of the situation. My wife lost her window seat but at least we still had the legroom and peace and quiet."
Cons: "Incredibly uncomfortable, not enough minimum space to fit my knees behind seat in front when front passenger reclined. 6 hours is too long to have a metal rod sticking straight into your knee caps. Shoulders were squished between other passengers and had to sit twisted the whole way and Im not a large person, but am 6ft. Cabin crew impolite and unhelpful. Food was awful and made my friend sick."

Their excuse was that both the kayaks and paddle bags were 2 inches too long. .. TWO INCHES!!!!!! We had record of the person we talked to and the time and date, but none of that seemed to matter. It caused A HUGE INCONVENIENCE for us since we are in Zambia for 6 weeks without our gear to paddle one of the most challenging rivers in the world... the Zambezi. Now we are constantly trying to acquire the proper equipment with very little success. We run a nonprofit called the Montana Kayak Academy which provides free whitewater instruction to youth between 8 &18 yrs old and we will be sure to tell everyone we know to NOT TRAVEL WITH EITHER VIRGIN ATLANTIC OR BRITISH AIRWAYS.... EVER!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Cons: "The 787 has vastly inadequate Economy toilets - ONLY 4! For 200 passengers. Inadequate lighting for,boarding, unable to activate reading lights until AFTER TAKEOFF = groping in semi darkness, BAD! No window blinds = woken up by blazing sun in middle of 11 hr night flight, even with sleeping pills my sleep was wrecked, even with eyemask. Passengers penned in on narrow aisles by trolleys, unable to walk around plane & risk of DVT. Passengers disempowered by restricted space, lighting, mobility. I want more control over my personal mobility &, lighting. Horrible headsets (bring my own). This flight departed 2.5 HRs LATE from JHB & the crew & cavin service was SLOW. NO requested second cup of tea brought - I waited 20 mins & climbed over trolleys to get another one, even though it was requested of cabin crew. Do they just ignore us? Or forget?"

If LH knows that the flight is booked close to capacity I would have expected they do their part and due diligence by swapping to a bigger aircraft to help protect people and their customers, it’s not that they wouldn’t have other aircrafts grounded and ready to go... A reduced beverage service is all you can do, really? LH - very disappointing once again"

Cons: "There was not enough room for all the people’s cabin size luggage. They allowed people to get on board with big coats once they’re in the plain they take off the coats and place them up. Those coats take the same space as a small suitcase. I asked the fly attendants for assistance and they didn’t even pretend to care about the situation. I had to put my luggage under the seat for the entire flight, which ended up reducing the very reduced legroom. What this airline is trying to do is; to charge passengers twice for cabin size luggage. This has been my worst experiences with airlines. Lufthansa is definitely an airline to avoid."

Cons: "Flight from Heathrow to Frankfurt delayed, when we arrived we had no chance of making our connecting flight to Split yet no one told us. No one at the gate which didn’t say final call (or on any of the boards) or anyone calling us over the tannoy at any point. Super rude “flight manager” A. Turini burst out laughing when we told him our situation and when I asked why he said “Well would it make you happier if I cry instead?” So unprofessional."

As I was sitting near the front of economy, any "extra" economy plus meals were handed out as to avoid waste. I was the recipient of a delicious Caprese salad. A nice treat."

Cons: "Another late take off, probably because the incoming connections were late. So it was good that the airline delayed the connecting flights. However, this leg of the trip was so late that I barely made it to third leg of the trip. A huge problem is that each of these international airports require that you go through the security check again. For that reason, connecting legs of trips through these airports should not be scheduled so close together. Heathrow is the worst, with security staff that, at best, don’t care that you have a close connection to make and just ignore your pleas to speed up the process, and at worst, are just plain rude."

Cons: "The flight was delayed . When we arrived in Frankfurt, there was a quie of 200m . After waiting 10 minutes, they asked us to go to other passport control . We had to walk onother 10 minutes to get there ."

Lets not forget that they delayed our flights like 4 hours and only gave us 1 voucher for snack. I don’t expect the experience will be fancy but this is a total disappointment!"

There were bouts of turbulence but the pilot immediately changed altitudes to steer away from it. Flying on the 748 is a pleasure and it's a shame these great planes will eventually all be phased out in favor of more fuel efficient 787s and their Airbus counterparts."
Cons: "Having to pay 86€ for a second suitcase that weighed just 15kg. In JFK they didn't charge me but Germans always go by the book. I think for the price of the ticket and lower gasoline costs compared to the height of the recession this is simply outrageous. Next time I'll pay for economy plus. You get a seat that is wider than economy but a little bit less legroom than a business one and the second baggage is included. The meal was nothing special but the friendliness of the flight attendants made up for it."

Pros: "I was able to squeeze back into Comfort Economy and make my destination, after a messed up miles upgrade - have to be grateful for the small things, right?"
Cons: "I was actually upgraded to Business Class through a LH miles award, however, that upgrade was not honored, despite the fact that I had a confirmation email from them. I had to first get to Frankfurt to even negotiate this problem. At the departure point, LH was unable to furnish me a boarding pass to my NY flight. After racing though the huge airport at max speed to make this connection, I was treated rudely at the gate in Frankfurt by LH short tempered ground staff, to the point of even being accused of being the source of the problem and being late for boarding (when I was only accorded an hour connection through this booking, and raised this concern with LH prior). Lastly, the ground crew took away my connecting flight boarding pass and nearly forgot to give me back my luggage tag. The flight crew was Ok, but just did a bare minimum to keep up with the packed and overbooked flight. To top of the joy, I got food poisoning after landing in NYC - not all food they serve was in sealed containers, and it must have been enough to cause a day of misery that followed my arrival - I can assure you that the late time and taxing and docking delays in NYC took away any opportunity to have a normal dinner, and LH food was all I had all day... Not the usual LH experience, but I may give them a break for the next few trips."

Cons: "But we waited tilll 12.30pm still flight took off at 14.00 and arrive in Dubai at 23.50pm instead of 22.30pm person went home who suppose to pick me up. I got to the place I was staying at 01.39am which was very uncomfortable. I will never fly again with Lufthansa Airline it use to like British Airways but definitely they have lost the customer touch."
Pros: "Professional, friendly, helpful staff in a new, quiet plane (A380-800). Smooth landing. Easy disembarkment despite approximately 500 passengers from a large aircraft."
Cons: "Unreliable domestic Lufthansa flights (in Germany) connected to this international one, and the departure time history for this LH400 proved typical for this flight, which ultimately left nearly 2 hours late despite good local weather. An announcement cited technical difficulties with the originally scheduled plane. Several small groups we recognized from embarkation on this LH400 flight filed lost luggage claims, as we did. Uncharacteristically bad planning by LH on food choices left our rows near the front of Economy without a choice of meals: only pasta, tasty though it was, was available. The chicken option was gone. The flight status video program function did not work for anybody near us despite three equipment restarts by the crew."

Cons: "On May 16, 2017, there was a group of Albanian and American passengers rushing through Frankfurt Airport to catch the connecting flight to New York. Their first flight (LH#1425) from Tirana to Frankfurt was 45 minutes late causing them to eventually miss their connecting flight. At this point, the passengers were asked to show their passports, separating the US citizens from the rest. All the US citizens were loaded on a bus and provided hotel, dinner and breakfast. The Albanian citizens were moved to the lower level of the airport where they were left to freeze all night. Some of the passengers were elderly and had their heart or high blood pressure medications in their luggage that they didn’t have access to. One US-Albanian citizen was asked to separate from his Green-Card holder wife in order to receive the US citizen treatment…"
Pros: "Flights were cancelled that day due to a storm, but Lufthansa were able to fly an empty aircraft from Rome to fly us from London to Frankfurt. Despite the circumstances, Lufthansa were able to still offer catering. Thank you for your cimmitment."
Cons: "Lufthansa in general could invest a little more in the food they serve. Lufthansa's domestic and inter European flights are never a culinary highlight. :-("
Pros: "The 747-8 is a nice new plane. The skinny Economy class seats are surprisingly comfortable. The entertainment system is good; I liked getting the feed from the forward-facing camera."
Cons: "Since last I flew with them, Lufthansa has added annoying charges like so many other airlines (but not usually full-service international airlines). Advance seat reservation was $30 per leg and seat. (I paid only for the overnight eastbound flight; on the return I found enough seats available by online check-in just after it opened.) One overweight bag was $100. Considering these charges, Singapore Airlines is the better choice for FRA-JFK. Minor quibbles with the entertainment system: * Front-facing camera points very low. Would be nice to see other planes during taxi (not just their wheels). * New "live map" during flight added useless gimmicks (view of earth from space), removed data (altitude, speed, outside temperature)."
Pros: "I flew in Business Class from JFK to Munich and then back to JFK via Frankfort. Both flights were on time and very smooth overall in both directions. The cabin crew was good both ways and all spoke English well. Lufthansa long haul flights still use the older 2 x 2 x 2 seating arrangement (unlike the more modern and common 1 x 2 x 1 arrangement where all seats have aisle access)...so if you don't want someone crawling over you trying to get to the toilet while you are trying to sleep be sure to choose a center seat (both with direct aisle access.) While not totally uncomfortable, the Lufthansa business class sleeper seats are narrower...less well padded...and have less recline options than those used by most other long haul airlines, especially the very narrow foot-wells. The pillows and blankets could be better too. The food was OK - but not on a par with what most other airlines serve on long haul flights. The JFK to Munich flight was non-problematic in all respects. However, there was a screaming baby in my aisle (Row 4 on a 747-8 only 2 seats away from me) on the Frankfort to JFK leg...which I found TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE."
Cons: "What airline would permit a lap baby (less than 2 years old...a periodic screamer...and totally unmanageable by its solo-travelling mother) to occupy it's Business Class section on a 7+ hour flight - while inconveniencing (and aggravating) all other nearby Business Class passengers who paid thousands of dollars/euros to ride in Business Class so they don't have to put up with this kind of nonsense? The answer is: "LUFTHANSA!!! And YES, this actually happened on my Frankfort to JFK flight (LH 400 on 23 January 2017.) I'm not sure if the woman in question paid for two seats or not but this unmanageable kid finally calmed down and fell asleep - but he did so in the seat next to her. If this unmanageable lap kid was allowed to do everything he did (including to use a Business Class seat for free IF that is what actually happened) then this just adds insult to injury. WAKE UP LUFTHANSA!!! People pay huge sums to ride in Business Class to avoid this situation - and it's time you BANNED this situation from even occurring."
Pros: "The Lufthansa crew in Munich was very helpful when my boarding pass would not go through - I was not told I needed a new pass for that flight (as the first one had been cancelled and rebooked: 2 Air Berlin flights). No one was of help until this point, and the Lufthansa crew even offered to check on my baggage for us only to notice it never left Berlin; we didn't get it for 3 days. This did not surprise me because last time I flew Air Berlin for an 8 day cycling & camping trip, I didn't see my bike for 5 days (you can imagine this sort of ruins the entire point of the trip). After reading a lot of complaints with Air Berlin and never hearing back from their customer service (ever) after numerous forms filled out, I knew checking our bags with Air Berlin from the start would mean we wouldn't see them in New York. I even said to the Air Berlin employee at check in that I refused to check my bag because of my past experience and he "assured" me my bag would be at JFK when I got there. Ha. It was nice to see the Lufthansa crew shocked at how poorly this trip home was working out for my husband and I."

Thank goodness the flight was delayed 80 minutes, because I was finally able to make the flight with 2 minutes to spare after running to the gates. The flight time, 65 minutes. I find it hard to believe the flight got delayed an entire flight. To couple that, when the plane landed in LGA (where I am as I write this), we're stranded on the runway because we don't have clearance to pull into our taxi area."

Pros: "This flight was co-shared by British airways. After our horrible flight from San Diego to London, we decided to upgrade our returning flight from London to San Diego to a economy plus premier. This time the plane seems newer and recently refurbished. The seat can recline more, with lump bar support and nice foot/leg rest. It has a bit more legroom. The cabin is nice and new with large view touchscreen TV for each seat. Gluten free meal was good, I'm just glad they finally boarded the plane with my GF meal (after repeated unsuccessful attempts). The service was great, our BA attendants were polite and attentive."

I sat on the upper deck and was very comfortable in comparison to other major airlines previously used for this particular flight. The plane was very clean and the crew were outstanding. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for crew, and they were ready with beverages, including tea and coffee, and snacks throughout the flight. In flight entertainment was good. All in all very pleasant flight to and from the U K."

At the airport I was told by British Airways employees that I would have to pay another $90 regardless of what my email said because their official prices are $90 each way not both. I showed them the confirmation I had recieved and all they could say was "that is confusing". There was very little empathy or attempt to help. As a result I was forced to leave the suitcase behind with my acquaintance in London and do an in airport shuffle of all of my belongings. The flight was great but beware emails that may not match up with online info."

They sent a text message at 7:15 apparently but my phone was not on so I understand not receiving it. I also left for the airport around 7:15. I also received an email from Kayak at 7 am that said there was no delay so I didn't check to see if there would be any others. I never received an email from Kayak about the delay. I would just suggest making sure all the alerts I get are correct. Cons: "First of all, though this was booked as a Finnair flight, Finnair was never part of the process after the booking. We rec'd an email from Kayak saying we could check in 36 hrs early - not so. Even at the 24 hr mark, we were unable to check in via Finnair - had to go to British Airways. Finnair was not represented at either airport - British Airways. On the return, British Airways canceled our flight (2 hrs before takeoff), and we could not get a non-stop flight home. This meant that we had to change terminals, retrieve our bags at the layover, recheck, etc. which of course, added 3 hrs to the original length of the trip. Where's our compensation? We paid for a round trip non-stop flight."

Cons: "I booked this trip thinking it was with a European carrier - I had specifically wanted to avoid an American carrier. I was unable to confirm my flight online and had to ring because at NO POINT was I sent info that it was AA and not Finnair. I was charge almost $60 for this service because I did not have the right references sent with my confirmation email. T he seats were cramped and uncomfortable, I was unable to pick my seat on any flight and despite my request could not change it. Boarding at Chicago was a farce, none of the ground crew seemed to be in charge and we barely started boarding with 20 mins to takeoff. Needless to say the flight left late and we had to wait to take off, and of course had to wait to land in London."

I have been recommending Britsh Airways over the last several weeks to pretty much everyone I know. My family and I will be looking to British Airways for overseas flights as a priority."

I got a text at 5pm that my bag was being delivered, which is fine so far. I did not hear before 10pm from the delivery guy about an estimated delivery time of my luggage, at that point he said he would show up around midnight. He eventually arrived at 3am. I don't know how the delivery company plans their deliveries but this is rather unacceptable. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this happens to me. Do they really always expect people to stay up until 3am the day after an international flight to get their luggage that was mis-handled by the airline.... I'd rather just drive to the airport myself the next day to get my suitcase myself."

In both the flights from EWR to OSLO and back, every aspect of the trip was super, except for the wait for baggage. In Oslo, I estimate having waited at least a half an hour at the carousel before the bags started showing up, and the same in Newark. We had long cleared Immigration, which normally is not a speedy process, and yet still had to wait at least 20 minutes for the FIRST bag to appear on the carousel. Cons: "Was overlooked by the pursor a couple times - he probably had a lot on his plate. Also, the "snack" at the end of the trip was sorely lacking! Especially for a 7 hour flight. The bathrooms were gross & out of toilet paper. And it seemed like one was locked constantly...?"
Pros: "Good food and a good entertainment system that comes with plenty of options. I really like that SAS doesn’t go for your wallet for every bag like jus about EVERY AMERICAN CARRIER!"

If they do answer the phone (1-800-221-2350), they either put you on hold for a whole day or, if you leave your phone no. and name to have them call you back, they never do . I am not the only person who has this experience. It is too bad because if this continues, the airline will loose business and I would hate to see that. However, I still will use KAYAK"

Cons: "I didn't like that we waited an hour to take off I had to run through the terminal in Chicago to catch my flight to Dallas. I had to rush though customs then run to check in baggage didn't have time just to drop off and run to shuttle then run to terminal security check in then run to my gate to catch my flight I was 2 minutes before my gate closed. I barely made the flight. I am also still waiting on United Airlines to find my luggage, they are supposed to call me and drop off my luggage."
Pros: "I flew SAS from ewr to wro and back a d can't say enough good things about the company. The crew was very friendly and always smiling, the flight was quick and arrived early, the plane was very clean aND overall just great experience. Next flight I'll be looking to book with SAS. Cons: "The flight was delayed well over an hour. I was unable to check in the night before. I was finally able to check in online the afternoon of the flight, but no seats were left, so had a boarding pass with no seat assignment. Got to the gate and they sent me and about 25 other folks with no seat assignment to wait for a "colleague" who finally appeared after almost everyone else had boarded. I did get a seat, but I was one of the last to board. They ran out of salmon dinners, so the stewardess plopped a chicken dish in front of me--didn't eat since I am vegetarian. The stewardess did give me a free mini bottle of wine, which is normally free on Lufthansa. I am just not all that impressed with SAS. I will try to avoid them in the future."

Cons: "I was seated between two families with two babies on board so there was little room for me to rest since there was a lot of movement."
Pros: "I had a connecting flight in Stockholm and forgot my laptop in the first plane. SAS personnel was very friendly and got me my laptop quickly and I was able to make my connection, even though it was pretty tight."

Pros: "Fish was excellent, flight attendant gave me free wifi after after I had an issue to pay w my card, I was let through express security in copenhagen, US border protection was fast and easy."

Cons: "Cabin light was only slightly dimmed during the 8 hrs flight. Then instead of gradually brighten the light. They just flip the switch to full blast. I think they are trying to sell you more duty free than letting their customers rest. Not ok!"

Cons: "The crew forgot to start serving the final meal until 40 minutes before we landed which resulted in them nearly throwing food at people so that they could quickly get through the plane and sit again before descent. I was not able to choose my seat and was seated in the back of the plane. Consequently this meant that every parent on the plane with two-year-olds decided that the best place to let them stretch their little legs was back by me. I work with small children so I understand that when they reach that age all they want to do is kick and punch, but I didn't want to end my vacation by having half a dozen two-year-olds punch my leg or try to crawl under my chair as they wandered nearby. I still have bruises."

Cons: "Crew was rude. Had to ask 3 times for a drink before I actually got it and they snarled at me about having to pay. I didn't care about paying, at that pout I would have paid $100 for some water. Seats are RIDICULOUSLY small and when the person in front of you puts their seat back it's impossible to do anything. Forgot having your tray table down."
Pros: "Staff seemed nice. Boarding didn't take too long even when I was selected for a random check."
Cons: "The air conditioning didn't go on until take off. There were no options for food. All alcoholic beverages were not complementary and priced too high. I got sick after eating the meal that was provided. i reserved a seat but at check in the computer assigned me a different seat number. I was flying with a family member and instead of sitting next to them I had to sit next to a stranger."
Cons: "Wasn't assigned a seat and had to stand in a long line to wait to confirm that I had a seat for a flight I booked over 3 months earlier."
Pros: "Everything was great, food, blanket & pillow, movies, friendly service."
Cons: "The 3 hour delay for landing. Had a 2 hour drive home from the airport, hard to stay awake. So tired for work the next morning."
Pros: "The plane was well kept and the entertainment system worked well with enough choice. The crew was average: no problems."
Cons: "The (transatlantic) flight was delayed 8 hours and the only compensation received was 175DKK for lunch. Had to stay in the airport over 11 hours due to this delay and had already had a 16 hour layover from the day before. I realize that unexpected delays may occur, particularly in cases where passenger safety is in question, but delays of more than 5 hours cause major inconvenience and I felt stuck in the airport with my bags and having checked out of my hotel room already. Just compensating for lunch is not enough. In the future a partial reimbursement for the flight, access to the priority lounge or a more comfortable facility such as a hotel would provide the passengers with compensation proportional to the inconvenience."
Cons: "After losing the bag they had charged me 60 Euros for, it took them over 24 hours to trace, retrieve and deliver the bag. They made no offer to refund the fee, which any reasonable company would have done."

Cons: "I had the same seat as I originally chose, but my husband's seat was changed without any consent and he had to change from the isle seat to the middle seat. Due to this, he could not sleep at all in 8-hour flight. I bought the ticket well in advance and chose the seats, and that was all in vain. I have no idea why it happened, and we are very disappointed."
Cons: "I missed my flight due to car troubles and has been very difficult in trying to get a refund for my flight. SAS was very unhelpful at the airport I had to go to Delta and purchase and entirely new flight!"
Cons: "I was sitting next to a girl who was not part of my family who got airsick 3 times on the flight. The first time I told the airline attendant and she brought a large plastic bag and some paper towels. The girl but her used airsick bag inside the large plastic bag. I tied the top and put in next to me near the aisle because I expected the attendant to come pick it up. The attendant told me I had to take it to the lavatory and dispose of it in there. It was very hard to get the large plastic bag into the small trash receptacle because it had fill with air. I asked the attendant for another airsick bag but she never brought it. The girl got sick again and she used my airsick bag. While walking the bag up to the lavatory, I asked a different attendant for another airsick bag. They just told me I had to dispose of it in the lavatory and never brought another airsick bag. I had to ask someone for their airsick bag because the girl got sick a third time. I can not believe the horrible service on this flight! The poor girl was crying because she felt so sick and there wasn't anyone to help her. I did what I could but I felt something could have been done by the crew. I will think twice before I reserve another flight on SAS."

Cons: "The meals were mediocre and should be up to the standard of the rest of SAS service. The selection of movies could have been wider. They do help pass the time."
Cons: "I was sitting next to a special needs man and the crew was extremely unhelpful towards him. He should not have been flying alone and they did not help him at all. When you handed out the customs form he told the stewardess he needed help and she ignored him. When I pressed the call button for him it took someone 35minutes to come back and then she told him she would help him after dinner. I pressed a call button the second time to help him find something and again it took over 30 minutes for someone to come back to us. If there was a real emergency this delay would have been a huge problem. The stewardess was extremely rude in general."
