Pros: "The best and funniest flight announcement ever! Also, we got upgraded to first class seat!! Amazing."
Pros: "Nothing at all, was very upset, traveling on emerg to a family member"
Cons: "Paying for carryon m my funds was very minimum, going to cate for a sick family member"
Cons: "Previous flight delayed, caused extreme stress to get to this flight! Got through customs and border protection, very long process and our bags were not at the baggage claim yet! Had to wait over 30 minutes for our bags. If Spirit charges for every bag, they should provide better baggage service! Had to wait in another long line to show our passports. Then run to recheck our bags. Spirit offered no assistants at all to speed this process up. As we are trying to check our bag they are starting to load the plane and we have to go through TSA yet! again another long process. We made it to our flight just in time. But I was completely sweated and stressed out! These flights originally had a three and a half hour layover scheduled between flights."
Pros: "Ihate the way the charger laggage"
Cons: "Everything. Worst airline to fly with. Seats are awfully uncomfortable. You can't get to the bathrooms because someone closer always gets to it since you can't line up to use it even if the seat belt sign is off. After you purchase bags and all the other junk it comes to same price anyway. Customer service is a hassle."
Pros: "We got back sooner than expected.."
Cons: "The staff was rude! Sign downstairs said 1 carry one 1 personal item.. so I asked at counter they told me to go to kios to get ticket... went all the way to the plane and boarding the woman says that's gonna be 100$ to board .. I had a small suitcase and diaper bag! I didn't have the money on my card and almost missed my first! I will spend the extra $20 next time to fly anything besides spirit!!"
Pros: "That we made it to Baltimore safely and early, about 30 mins before schedule."
Cons: "Original flight being cancelled due to lack of staff to service flight 2 days in a row. Who does central scheduling?? Why are flights cancelled due to workers not bring available?"
Pros: "Luckily sitting by good people"
Cons: "Beer was warm and $7"
Pros: "Crew was good and flight departure and arrival."
Cons: "The ala carte prices for basics luke water, juice, soda pop."
Cons: "We had been on board late at night when weather canceled our flight. We were told to go to ticketing to get our refund. While in line I booked another airline on my phone. A ticket agent walked by and I asked if we could get our refund without standing in line so I could make my flight. (I still needed to fetch my baggage and get in on the next flight.) She did not know! They didn't know how to handle this weather situation."
Pros: "Everything was great"
Pros: "on time, staff were pleasant and easily engaged"
Cons: "Cost of luggage"
Pros: "Not much of anything"
Cons: "Every Spirit fight that I have taken has been delayed majorly impacting my trips. The first making my family miss one full day in Miami after the flight was delayed twice. Yesterday my flight was delayed over two hours for crew issues. I understand weather issues, but there should be some accomodation made when it is entirely the airline's fault. I witnessed one distraught passenger try to get assistance when the realized they had left his daughter's medication on the plane after leaving the plane. The gate agents were sort with him, not helpful in any way. They did call for a supervisor who showed up with a lollipop in her mouth. So unprofessional. I could go on, but I won't. This is a low cost carrier, with fares seemingly lower than their competitors but make sure to consider all of the fees before buying your ticket. Chances are the price is close to another carrier."
Pros: "Seats were better than expected. Pilot did good job flying us through a storm. Kept us informed."
Cons: "Crew was a little pushy."
Cons: "Seats were not adjustable"
Pros: "Crew was nice, airplane was clean, flight was on time."
Cons: "Very, very small seats. So many fees."
Cons: "First I got text flight is on time I left home accordingly. After getting boarding pass it was delayed 35 minutes. When I went to boarding area. Close to scheduled time announced that with flight will be late over another two hours. I arrived at my destination at 1:00 am instead of 10:30 pm. It was highly uncomfortable for me and as well my host. Who came too pick me from 1:15 distance. I will never advise that to save $30-50 dollars. Ruined your entire trip. Never ever travel Spritor advise others."
Pros: "I was pleased that departure was efficient and on time. This was one of the cleanest plans I have ever flown on, and although there aren't a lot amenities, I am fine with a low cost alternative that gets me from here there."
Pros: "The crew was pleasant."
Cons: "The baggage charge was more to return to Baltimore then going and I don't think that is fair. There is nothing that can tell you what the harggage charge will be per location until the ticket is paid for. You need a better system. The attendant at the door for boarding didn't board by zones, she let everyone at once."
Pros: "When my original flight on a normal carrier was grounded, I spent the night in ORD. Thanks to Spirit I was able to quickly get home the next morning for a small fraction of what the major carriers wanted. Seats were comfortable and trip was hassle free."
Cons: "Couldn't get on the flight due to massive security delays w/ TSA"
Pros: "Very reasonable price for ticket"
Cons: "Plane had mechanical problems on the return flight. Sat on the runway for 90 minutes until we were finally told to get off while the continued to try and fix it. Waited another 90 minutes for them to finally tell us flight was cancelled and that we could either becrefunded hslf of our ticket price or wait until the next flight the following day. No attempts to get anyone home the same day or additional refund for the difficult spot we were all left in because of their equipment failure."
Cons: "Carry-on not included. $55 additional at kiosk for carry on"
Cons: "Free check on bag"
Cons: "Extra charges for carry on lugage"
Pros: "Price was very good on a short booking, did not realize the limitation of baggage and food would increase the true cost."
Cons: "Requested wheel chair assistance in airport, noted on boarding info that I would need help at both start and end of the flight segments but had to wait for help, you switched gates at the start of the flight and no one looked to provide help to move. No one at destination again after the flight, agaiin I had to wait for help to get to baggage claim, 100% rated disabled veteran, no spirit of help provided from the staff. I informed boarding argent I would need extra time at boarding, time between asking for disabled patrons and phase 1 boarding was 3 seconds, again no help on this issue, plane was late on the turn so it wast just get then in so we can leave the gate."
Pros: "It was on time"
Pros: "Price was competitive."
Cons: "very cramped seating."
Pros: "I like that it was a direct flight from BWI to Fort Lauderdale. We landed early. The seats were somewhat comfortable. The plane was not packed."
Cons: "I had to pay an additional $90 for my luggage. I was under the impression that I was getting my ticket for a good deal until I realized I had to pay for my luggage separately. They charged for drinks and snacks on the plane. A man next to me said he paid extra for more leg room but his seat was the exact same as mine."
Cons: "This is the ONLY airline I have ever used that did not check to see if any missing passengers were going through checkpoints. They left about 25 of us behind because we were stuck in TSA. The flight that left later to Detroit did the same thing to their passengers. The staff was incredibly rude, if they rolled their eyes more than they did they may have fallen out of their heads. They had the attitudes of spoiled teens that were working as punishment for something. The flight itself was alright, but even the attendants were unpleasant. I ended up stuck in the airport alone for seven hours, some people were told they had to wait until the next day! I've flown many times and this is the ONLY airline I have ever seen that did such a thing. I will NEVER use them again, nor will I recommend them."
Pros: "The aircrew, flight attendants and pilots, were very good. The aircraft are new."
Cons: "Customer service at the gate was horrible. The baggage policy is different than any airline I've ever flown... Which is fine if you understand it. But since this was my first flight with spirit, I wanted to make sure. After many threatening announcements of a $100 charge if your ONE allowable item is too big, I went to counter to see if my backpack was of appropriate size, When I approached the podium to verify I was ok, the two gate agents were talking so I stood and waited to be helped. After several minutes, one finally looked over, with a very annoyed expression and asked, " Do you need something?" (Actual quote) I asked my question, which was answered with equal distain and then I was dismissed and the agent returned to her conversation. Throughout the entire trip, it felt as if the ground crew were there to herd you on and off the aircraft... That's it... They were completely unapproachable. My recommendation? Spend the few dollars more and go with another carrier... If you do choose to fly Spirit, set your expectations very low and then you'll only be slightly disappointed."
Pros: "It got me from point A to point B"
Cons: "They draw you in with a low airfare. Then you are charged $50 to carry-on or $55 to check your bag once you get to the airport - so of course you have no choice! Then I had to "buy" my seat?! REALLY? What on earth did I pay for to begin with? If you're going to be like that, put all those things in big font on your booking page so that people don't get caught off-guard. Oh, I'm sure you have it on your website, in some tiny print that no one sees"
Pros: "Not paying for beverages, snacks, in-flight entertainment, and other stupid frills that I don't take advantage of. The plane was new, clean, and comfortable. The flight crew was exceptionally friendly, the announcements were fun, and the flight departed and arrived ahead of schedule. I have already spread the word about this great airline, and will continue to recommend it to others."
Cons: "Hopefully you will have flights out of my home airport (PSC) soon! Until then, I will continue to fly Spirit when possible on my trips."
Pros: "it's a budget airline, so I understand the general lack of accommodations. The employees were generally pleasant."
Cons: "The gate changed several times and the staff working the gates seemed just as surprised as the passengers were; communication can be improved greatly. Additionally, the boarding groups essentially meant nothing. People who were in group 3 were boarding at the same time as those in group 1."
Pros: "Cheap flight to an international destination."
Cons: "Seats don't recline at all. Almost impossible to sleep if you don't have a window seat. Baggage fees are pretty ridiculous."
Cons: "You charge for everything and really it's ridiculous that you even charge for water."
Pros: "Almost nothing- the fare was low, but with added expenses for EVERYTHING it comes out to about the same price as other airlines"
Cons: "The flight was delayed nearly two hours and we got almost no updates from the staff at the gate regarding when we would start boarding. They seemed disorganized and overworked."
Pros: "The flight went smoothly."
Cons: "The delays. We had 3 different times they told us we were being delayed for some reason."
Cons: "Most uncomfortable flight I ever had"
Cons: "I bought two seats next to each other for myself and my daughter and when I boarded here were two people in our seats. Another mother and daughter that the flight attendant told me wanted to sit together. The only remaining seats were middle seats in different rows and one of those was next to a mother with an infant. My daughter was the older than the other daughter so we had to sit separately. So what's the point of buying seats?? Sounds like a scam to me."
Cons: "Needs more handicap assistance"
Pros: "Everything from the economy parking to boarding was fast. The airport isn't overly full and security check was fast."
Pros: "The staff was really courteous and nice."
Cons: "On my way back the flight was cancelled. The whole process of getting another flight was not smooth. I had to carry a bunch of bags all the way to nearly the other end of LAX (huge airport) by myself, then I had to rush to catch my flight because the ticket was not received by American Airlines until less than an hour before the flight (I arrived over two hours early). Also why did I not receive advanced notification the flight was cancelled?"
Cons: "Boarding was very late. They had no schedule. Baggage charge is excessive & a ripoff."
Pros: "There wasn't anything to like. The flight was cancelled and the gate agent disappeared. She said call or go to ticketing, back in the terminal."
Cons: "They refused to put me on a flight that would get me to my destination the same day. I was on a 5:30 pm flight and there were literally dozens of available flights. I finally got a refund on the Spirit flight and paid an exorbitant amount of money to purchase a last minute flight on a good airline. That new flight I bought had 21 people on board the flight but Spirit claimed there were no seats available. Good bye Spirit."
Pros: "I liked the price cheap. Especially as I was travelling with no baggage."
Cons: "We were notified the flight was delayed for 2 hours when we were supposed to be boarding. Then an hour and half later were informed that the flight was completely cancelled. All passengers were told to visit the ticketing window for more information. Once there, we were all given a number to call on a little piece of paper where we had to beg an Indian to get us on a comparable flight that night or the following morning. She was only trying to give me ATL to NORTH CAROLINA to Baltimore or ATL to Orlando to Baltimore. Which doesn't make sense at all. Finally after asking multiple times she was able to "find" me in her database a flight leaving at 7:30 am. There's more to this but I don't feel like typing it all out. No food or hotel vouchers from anyone. Sucks because I was having a bad weekend with a family emergency. Had no money on me and hadn't eaten. I could've definitely made it had I been able to get on the flight I paid for with the last bit of money I had on me. Greyhound was 3 times cheaper and may have been faster. Bad experience. At least a food voucher and hotel accommodations would have been nice. You get what you pay for I guess! I'm just happy someone from my church ministry was able to come gete from the airport so I could eat and sleep on an actual bed. I'm not from this city and do not know anyone. Not OK. Beware of Spirit Airlines."
Cons: "I had a death in the family and could not get ahold to anyone from the airline. I ended up buying a new ticket to travel home to burry my family member. I did not use this ticket."
