I travel nearly every week so I value being on time. However, a minute by minute call to hurry up on a flight that was sold out was over the top. There was mumbling among the passengers, to the point of someone joking "Free cookies and water if we make it on time?" Just a bad gate experience, but bad enough that peopoe were commenting, and I waited for someone from the cockpit to del\part so I could mention it to them."

They allowed passengers to board that were seated at the end of the plane while some 1 was boarding, causing tons of congestion. The boarding process was the slowest I have ever experienced in all the flights I’ve been on. The crew was ok, but slightly snappy/rude like typical New Yorkers. The flight from ft. Lauderdale to New York was much more pleasant."

They did find it next day and delivered to the FLL airport, but we had to get a cab and go to the airport to pick-up as we could not take a chance of it not making it to us before the cruise departure. I explained her I had personal documents and stuff inside my trolley but she told me I had to take another fly if I refused to checked. Our surprise was that the space above our seats ( row 30) was available and left empty the while fly! It was not fear and discriminated!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hours, then moved to the next morning at 6am. Before we got to the hotel, the flight was pushed back to 8am. All for mechanical reasons. We've flown this route before, and have had an abnormally high number of mechanical issues. They seem to use older planes for these shorter flights, and it really shows. Technology could really help ease these situations. American's app does not allow you to look at rebooking options, so we had to stand in line for a solid 30 minutes to speak to an agent. Since it was the last flight of the night, there were only 3 agents there to help an entire plane's worth of people. Calling American didn't help. They couldn't help with hotel/food vouchers. These types of vouchers seem like something else that could be distributed through the app or electronically, eliminating the need to stand in line and grow increasingly frustrated. To add to the fun, the vouchers were not event enough to get a hot dog and drink for dinner, then a coffee and pastry for breakfast. Once we got the vouchers, trying to get to the hotel was a disaster. They had 1 van, so they could get about 10 people every 30 minutes. We just took and Uber, and were eating in the restaurant by the time others were still arriving from the shuttle. There was no one from American there to help coordinate with the hotel or shuttle. We were like blind sheep wandering around looking for the van. Finally, arrive for the flight the next day, and they start boarding about 10 minutes before the 8am takeoff time. So, of course, we were late getting off the ground. Then, when we arrived in Dallas, our gate was occupied by another plane, so we got to sit on an old plane for an extra 30 minutes until another gate opened up for us. Really, other than crashing, not much else could have gone wrong. Made American look completely incompetent...which is happening more the more we use them. Next time, I'll pay a higher fare to fly with Southwest."

Felt way too long....and the ground crew didn't seem to appreciate that most people had a connection..."

They were so loud we heard their entire conversation from what they did on their free time in the summer, to what they think about game of thrones & talking about their fitness. Cons: "Didn't like baggage fees for carry-ons, didn't like paying for seats to ensure that my wife and I sat together because she has travel anxiety, didn't like having to pay for a ginger ale on the plane, didn't like small tray tables and the fact that the seats did not recline, didn't like that there was no entertainment on the flight (screens, music, charging capability for phone). I understand the appeal of "pay what services you want" as there were many services that we "needed", and because of that we certainly paid for them. In addition to our airfare, we paid $32 for seats, $160 for 2 carry-ons and 1 checked bag, and then $6 for 2 ginger ales to help settle our stomachs for the flight. It was very unexpected. Spirit did reimburse us $60 as a one-time courtesy because this was our first time flying with Spirit, and we did not know what to expect, but had we not complained, we would have gotten nothing."

Once the third flight arrived, there was an issue boarding due to a beligerant passenger and the flight was over an hour late. However, the entire time the issue was being resolved, Spirit told the passengers waiting to board NOTHING. Everytime a question was asked about whether or not we would be leaving, the staff was rude and avoided answering. I will never fly Spirit again, as they truly do not care about their customers."

They offered no remedy without any option to arrive at my until 3 days later and this with me staying overnight at the Fort Lauderdale airport, to be on stand by for the flights on said third day. Their only other offer was to refund me the value of that 'first flight". It took two hours and 15 minutes of declining those offers and being very disrespectfully for them to offer a full refund (5 to 7 business days later). They offer no help with rebooking, so I had to purchase with another airline at full last minute price."

The customer service representatives were yelling at us at the airport about bags being too large when they clearly fit into the bins and had been used on previous Spirit flights. In fact, when flying back on Spirit, no one questioned the bag! It just depends on how pissed off the rep is on that given day."
Cons: "I had such an amazing experience at Louis Armstrong. Great service thru and thru. Customer service and TSA was unbelievably amazing. I will continue catch flights to Louis Armstrong airport. The food was better than you can imagine."

Cons: "Everything else. The flight was late. You have to pay a lot extra for each bag. The A/C didn't work. The overhead cargo bins wouldn't stay closed. That caused another delay. They fixed it with duct tape. Never again with Spirit. It just wasn't worth the hassle, and the extra $105 I had to spend to get one bag there and back."
