Cons: "The complimentary fruit slices and cheese gave me servere food poisoning (strong symptoms for 36h+). The flight change (added fuel stop an hour before takeoff) showed in the app as canceled flight and disabled the boarding pass. And the several times at the gate verbally advertised on board WiFi didn’t work at all. Not a good expierence."

I brought it to the flight attendants attention however she wasn't able to reset it. A 7-hour flight from NY to Zurich travelling with small children without the movies was not as pleasant as it could have been."
Cons: "First day our flight got canceled 1 hour before leaving the airport. No good explanation given. Planes were landing and departing from Columbus just our flight got cancelled which made no sense. Over the phone no one was really helpful. Very bad experience with Delta"

Cons: "Delta employee who drive shuttle to connection stopped to drop off a passenger and proceed to chat w other workers thereby getting me to my gate late and missing my connection and getting me to Florida almost 3 hours later than planned. Agents at desk in JFK were rude. There was another Delta employee also on the shuttle who was the only one who seemed to show concern. He alerted the driver, called the boarding gate and led me to it."

Cons: "The plane was delayed to wait for passengers from another flight. We waited for almost two hours. After that there was multiple technical difficulties- loading the bags, closing the door, refueling...the list goes on. We ended up taking off almost four hours late."

And I wasn't able to get on a flight until the next day. To make matters worse I had to flight back to New York to catch the flight to Barcelona! Unbelievable. I was beyond disappointed. I chose American Airlines for a reason, a good one at that. Yet this happened."

Cons: "Charlotte to Seattle flight: The food served in first class smelled awful. Seated in premium seating just behind first class was unfortunate due to the atrocious odor that lasted for 3+hours. There was no option for food service for the rest of the plane. Which was unfortunate as I was very hungry. Due to inconsistent notification that the plane was delayed / on-time (kept switching the notification) we opted to not get dinner in the airport..... To which the plane was was an hour late yet we were told to check in every ten minutes to see if we were boarding. There were no blankets. The plane was incredibly cold. The suggestion I received from the flight staff was to turn off the vent above my head (which I had already done.) I had brought a jacket and was wearing pants. On a 5.5 hour flight, the crew served beverages 45 minutes into the flight (per usual) and handed out a pretzel pack. They didn't come back through with water or beverages again. On other airlines, they promote water at least once an hour to keep swelling and dehydration down. Since I am a pretty frequent flier, I bring my own water. Still, coffee would have been nice. Suggestions: increase beverage service to at least twice / 5.5 hour flight and provide blankets upon request. Food choices and entertainment would also be good. Don't cook stinky dinners in first class and allow it to pollute the rest of the plane."

Cons: "The issues steming from poor service, I waited for agent at gate for 5min prior to boarding. I wasnt able to get a seat assignment online or kiosk, was told to go to gate for seat. After agent assigned me a seat in the last row, after I asked for something closer to the front of plane. I was told that I had to check-in my carry on bag because they were expecting a full flight. I said that I had an 19" bag that was small enough to be put in overhead compartment. I was then advised that if I wanted to get on the flight I had to check my bag. I then spoke to a supervisor who said the only way to carry on my bag was to pay for an expensive seat or be in group 2. The agent had put us in group 3. I said that none of the reasons given for not being able to carry my bag on tje flight is not stated anywhere on website or when purchasing a ticket. I had no choice but to give up my carry on bag. Boarded group 3 and upon getting on plane I noticed that the overhead compartments were half full. As I arrived at seat 30 A, all the compartments were empty. I went to the front of plane to speak to an agent on ramp and other passengers were bringing on their carry on bags. I spoke with the supervisor who said I couldn't get on flight unless I checked my carry on bag. All he could say is that he was sorry for the inconvenience. I asked why he was helping other passengers to bring their luggage on board but I was refused. Then a flight attendant said that I was being disruptive and was going to get thrown out of flight. There is no explanation why my girlfriend and I weren't allowed to bring our carry on bags except being discriminated."

Cons: "Thanks to weather (what weather?), the Friday 8 flight was canceled. My only chance to get to Cincinnati "on time" was to take a 6am two-part flight from Newark via Charlotte, arriving in Cincinnati at 1pm. All around the American Airlines section you could hear people say that flights had been canceled like this all week. I did not have time in Cincinnati to do half the things I wanted to do, and I had so little sleep on Friday night that I had to spend too much of my first Cincinnati night in bed trying to catch up with lost sleep, Thanks, American! This was to have been the head-clearing out-of-town break I sorely needed after a period of over-intense work."
Pros: "Pilot on return flight got us to our destination 30 minutes early (unfortunately there wasn't a gate for us to pull into so we waited 30 minutes on the Tarmac)."
Cons: "Departing flight was delayed over eleven hours because a flight attendant was ill. They actually had to fly in a flight attendant all the way from Texas to cover this Seattle to JFK flight! So our flight departed a whole day later and we missed a day of our vacation (we arrived at 7pm instead of 7am). I understand things happen but this was not weather related or a mechanical issue. This is simply poor personnel management. They should have a back-up plan if an employee falls ill. One that doesn't involve flying in an employee from another region of the country, let alone another state. The inefficiency continued on the return flight when it took a whole hour for the luggage to come out! Will avoid flying American again at any cost."
