Here’s the part that confused me the most. JetBlue flies only from terminal 5. Delta (at least) arrives in terminal 4. Be aware that there is a lot of walking to get out of terminal 4, then you board the sky train, then you walk more, and finally get to terminal 5. There, surprise! You have to go through security again. At JFK, some security lines are ridiculously long and slow. It’s very annoying that transit passengers must go through that again when moving between terminals. One more thing related to terminal 5 where JetBlue flies - there is absolutely nowhere to sit and almost nothing to eat before going through security. The security lines were better organized though and it didn’t take that long.

Not much, honestly. I’d just say: get to LGA a little early so you can actually enjoy it — there’s a surprising number of great shops and restaurants, and the whole place has a good vibe. RDU is solid too, but it can get crowded (likely thanks to the growth around RTP), so occasional delays and bottlenecks do happen. Build in a little buffer time and you’ll be fine. Enjoy the trip!

LaGuardia is the most convenient/fastest from Midtown Manhattan. If taking a taxi, check the map ahead of time to spot traffic delays — taxi drivers aren’t going to do that and you can direct them to alternate routes to avoid a traffic jam.

We love flying Newark to Fort Lauderdale, and the time slots of Spirit Airlines are perfect for us. We certainly hope that Spirit doesn't stop flying under Chapter 11, but that is certainly a risk we need to consider if we are buying tickets months in advance. Also, it only really pays to fly Spirit if you are flying light - check for allowable size and weight of "personal items" that are exempt from add-on fees.

My flight was not delayed, but my family had a flight earlier in the week that was, by 5 hours. My daughter says she'll never book a late afternoon flight as they seem most likely to be delayed. Alaska Airlines offered free checked bag and personal bag with ticket price which I found to be very reasonable. Of the other airlines I found Alaska Airlines to be most comfortable, have friendly and efficient staff and reasonable pricing. Newark airport is rather easy to navigate given its size. We found Seattle airport to be a bit difficult to navigate, especially when returning a rental. Customers in this instance should allow extra time for the car return, bus to the terminal and navigating through the airport which included several monorails to get to our boarding terminal and through security to the gate. Signage for security was confusing we needed to ask for direction and restaurants were limited and short staffed once through security. As long as you allow for extra time, we found it to be relatively painless.

I booked into JFK due to cost. However, I wouldn’t do it again due to all the construction in the area and the incredibly long B concourse for Delta. We were at the very last gate.

Spirit Airlines is a good and safe, no frills airline. It offers transport for a very cheap fare rate. This is perfect for travelers who can fit all their stuff in a personal sized bag of 18x14x8. Only 1 bag is allowed. If intending to bring a luggage, keep in mind that a prepaid checked in baggage of 40 pounds ($55-60 each way) is cheaper than a prepaid carry on, and it is cheapest when bought together with the fare ticket. Keep also in mind that seats do not recline, so if that is something you need to have especially on longer flights, Spirit airlines isn't for you. So if you just need a no frill, no baggage airfare that transports you from one point to another, Spirit is a reliable, safe and affordable airline to get.

Bring an iPad with lots of shows downloaded. The terminal at jfk is nice and small, easy to go thru security. Palm Springs airport is amazing. You step out and feel like you’re on vacation.

If you do not have Precheck then get there early since the line can be very long. If you have trouble walking get a wheelchair or find on the carts going thru the terminal. It is a long way to the furthest gates.

Allow time for TSA (I had) or figure out the priority boarding (I didn't but will look into it for future flights), I thought they were pretty inefficient. A guy behind me was freaking out because he was going to miss his flight and a bunch of us let him cut the line in hopes he could make it.

Be very careful that you don’t misplace anything. If you have to go through TSA multiple times, be sure to retrieve ALL your things even if it means you have to hold up the line unfortunately. Otherwise, there will be zero help to retrieve your things afterwards even though there are so many cameras.
