Other than that the seat backs were to short and flight media was inoperative. Then on the way out when I thanked Jay he was non responsive. I felt like he was being inconvenienced by our presence. If you ask me he was even rude with his coworkers on the phone. I'm glad it was only a 55 min flight. Two sentence's for what was good and all of this for one person that made it a bad experience."

Othes kept sending me back and forth between transfer desk and sales desk with inconsistent advice every time. I had no way out, so decided I will fly to the closest European country. This was after I had been back and forth for 7 hours. I had to pay full for flight to Greece. I asked to be sent back to D.C. they could not even work that out. I have a return ticket to fly back to Washington D.C. with Turkish Airline on 1 Jan and they said they will need to re-ticket my paid return flight as well. Turkish airline crew did not would not help me fix my return flight back to D.C. They have asked me to contact the agent ( Kayak). Now I am stuck in Athens, a country I have never visited nor planned to. My tours & accommodation, all paid for in Israel, I have lost. I had a tour fully paid in Israel. I have no ticket to return back to D.C. even though I paid for ticket with cancellation insurance when I bought the ticket. The advice between Turkish crew who checked my passport (official) while I was flying out of D.C. vs the Turkish crew who stopped me from boarding was inconsistent. If I had been stopped in D.C. I wouldn't have had to face the events that followed. Now I have lost my tours, hotel in Israel. I had to pay extra for flight to Athens and I am paying for hotel and sundry in Athens while waiting for flight out. Turkish crew at Istanbul were not only unhelpful but rude and inconsistent. While I was waiting for 8 hours for a firm information, shouting matches between Turkish crew and customers went on at least a dozen times. Inconsistent information from Turkish staff has led me to be currently stuck in Athens. I am waiting for a way back to D.C. There should be a rule that fines an airline if they board people without accurate visa papers and they fail to check it. There should also be a fine to the airline if they stop people from boarding at a transit airport leaving passanger stranded with nowhere to go or return."

Unlikely many airlines the West Jet crew - in flight and the ground crew - were all very friendly, helpful and actually seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. I called West Jet prior to checking in on-line and my call was answered within a minute by a real human who was so helpful. That's the polar opposite of so many airlines like Air Canada."

I waited 1.5hrs after takeoff before I called staff for a drink. Over 2hrs before they officially started serving main cabin drinks and snacks. There was some turbulence but they could have served people by hand without the cart. They had no problem serving first class before, during and after takeoff."

Cons: "Forced me to check in my (undersized) duffel bag carry on. Then forgot To load the bag onto the plane. WestJet cited a questionable and unlikely reason, that the bag was not loaded due to baggage to passenger weight ratio for safety reasons, even though flight was far from full with multiple empty rows. Plus there was a grand total of only approximately 12 pieces of baggage at the carousel. Also the plane’s auxiliary power generator was broken, which meant no a/c while on the tarmac before and after takeoff. Cabin was warm though not intolerable, however led to delays at both origin and destination airport due to having to wait for an external power supply truck. No in flight service due to supposed turbulence. Which would have been fine, except there really wasn’t much turbulence. Didn’t affect me, but my neighbor’s entertainment system was broken. However, these multiple issues and the broken power generator makes me wonder about what other maintenance issues have been overlooked or not addressed. Most of all I was offended by the clear lack of honesty about my baggage. If there really was a weight limit safety issue despite the plane being far from maximum capacity, then there are much bigger issues with the plane that makes me never want to fly WestJet again. But don’t insult your passengers by lying to cover up your carelessness. My baggage arrived on the following (my original) flight, but that which was delayed by nearly two hours. I’ve flown on United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, WowAir, AA, Alaskan, Virgin, American Airlines, United Airways, China Air, EVA, and Air Canada. So far, WestJet has been by far my worst experience."

Then, I couldn't resist giving up my re-assigned (centre) seat so that two sisters could sit together. The two folk in my row were lovely, they talked more than I did, but when I joined in, it was a genuinely pleasant conversation. Three strangers, meeting per chance. The woman next to me had given her seat up for a family to sit together, so it really was a chance encounter! Diane needs to be promoted!"

Cons: "Even though it was the first flight of the day, WestJet still left an hour late which meant I missed my connecting flight. That meant I also had to rebook my ground transportation an additional cost. Why they couldn't manage to get the first flight of the day out on time, I don't know. This stuff happens, and I am generally a patient and understanding person. That said, WestJet not only caused inconvenience and added expense, the airline had absolutely destroyed my snowboard bag. It was damaged so badly that I had to tape it up just so I could get out of the airport without losing my stuff everywhere. The WestJet employees didn't say anything about the damage, and clearly hoped I would just go away without making a claim. To make matters worse, they only pay part of the cost to replace my luggage."

Cons: "On an 8 hour flight there’s no complimentary meal. I paid for a meal and it was worse than free plane food and starved for the rest of the trip. The chairs were horribly uncomfortable with no lower back support and we were not even given pillows and blankets. There was also no free entertainment. I rented a tablet and had it taken away an hour before landing while I was in the middle of a movie. I might have been ok with that if the flight attendant had politely asked for it back rather than rudely waving and pointing while I stared at her blankly trying to figure out what she wanted. Next time I’ll pay a bit more for an airline that respects its passengers and our comfort."

We were made to wait 2+ hours after we boarded in order to take passengers that were supposed to be on a flight to Seattle with us to Denver because their plane was taken out of service, so our 7 hour flight kept us on the plane for 9 hrs., and people missed their connecting flights. No snacks at all except for the overpriced ones you have to pay for."

However when we got the gate, my ticket dinged because they had moved my seat from next to my family to the back of the plane, because they over booked the flight. This has been a disaster only because of this airline. Next time I plan on using British airways, the flight I took with them was amazing and effortless on my part!"

The check in staff were rude and homophobic at check in, forcing my partner and I to separate for check in while we watched heterosexual partners check in together freely. The disabled toilet alarm broke as we descended into NYC and we listened to end-of-the-world death sirens as we were landing. It was not communicates that food was a microtransaction on flight and was so overpriced so we went nearly 13 hours without food because the flights were also delayed on the tarmac. The de-icing tow truck in Iceland was broken down so we were delayed two hours on the layover. On return, both Icelandair gates opened late. During the layover we were kettled in hot container units before 20 min before being bussed to the plane and held for 15 minutes. Then, the icing on the cake was landing back at Gatwick and seeing my brand new luggage I bought on the trip damaged with thr back pocked ripped out along the bottom seam. I will never again ride with these rude, price-gouging, apathetic amateurs."

I flew Saga class, but the crew stayed in the kitchen, did not help to put up luggage, welcome us on board. They gave us a plastic bottle of water. There was no choice on the menu. The tray was put in front of you. There was no drink or snack upon boarding. Other than putting the tray in front of you and collecting it, the flight crew stayed in the kitchen. There was no interaction. There was nothing special about the comfort, entertainment or food. Also I like to see the flight path, but that was not available."

Cons: "Admittedly this is something of an airport issue more than an airline issue, however considering Icelandair is one of the few airlines servicing the airport in Reykjavik there has to be some level of coordination going on between the two entities. Regardless, 5 different US-bound flights were all scheduled to leave within 15 minutes of each other in the same small corner of the Reykjavik airport, so when delays started coming in due to weather that area became an extremely congested mess. Perhaps its a cultural norm in Iceland to just remain silent in times of mini-crisis, but the desk attendants made no effort to communicate what was going on to the hundreds of people crammed in atop one another in the waiting area. This led to a lot of frustration from the waiting travelers. Both of these problems could have been prevented by better planning (not scheduling all outbound flights happening in a quarter hour's time into the same small corner of the airport) and better communication from the airline staff, the lack of which really aggravated a difficult situation for the people there. Once on the flight, though, everything went very smoothly, and the flight crew was quite apologetic and professional."
