Cons: "Meal quality in economy is really poor, much poorer compared to four years ago, when I last flew Korean Air, and poorer than Asiana, which I flew last year. Flight attendant serving our section kept knocking into aisle seat passenger, including knocking over his coffee cup and spilling coffee all over him and the passenger next to him. Flight attendant's reaction was to panic instead of handing over napkins or paper towels - was mopping up with my napkins and tissues by the time she showed up with some paper towels. I was left with the impression that flight attendants were picked more for looks than competence. Checking in at Incheon took a very long time - they should open more counters or give warning to passengers of how long it can take."

Cons: "I bought my ticket last minute not realizing that my lay over in Korea was 12 hours I arrived in Korea at 5:30 am, stayed at the airport , slept , walked, ate, sleep patiently waited for my 1930 boarding I finally boarded and was told in their broken English that I am going to be inspected I was thoroughly searched, my pursed was inspected, my body was inspected ,the asked me to open both of my hands and they run a white strips into my palm( I'm a nurse ) and the first thing that entered my mind was they were checking me for drug screen I am very bothered with what happened , Korean airlines makes their passenger have a long lay over and at the end will be thoroughly searched because she stayed in the airport too long How is Korean airlines going to support this insult!!! Pros: "After requesting a special meal, the flight attendants made absolutely sure of my identity before passing the meal to me (which was GREAT!). Having the pillow, blanket and headphones ready in place when boarding was considerate of Korean Air. Of course, no matter what, having to ask people to accommodate the requests to use the lavatory got old really fast (I had a window seat) but it's what had to happen. Overall, for such a long flight, the airline is a pleasant one with which to fly."

Pros: "Courteous and attentive service. Generous with extras (e.g. wine, meals). The entertainment options (movies, TV, music) made the 13 hour flight pass quickly. I was even able to catch a few hours' of sleep thanks to the ample leg room and a seat that reclines more than 15 degrees. Finally, the fellow passengers (mostly Korean) were quiet and polite, which made the flight all the more delightful. This is definitely my goto choice for trips to Southeast Asia."

Cons: "4 hrs delay due to failure of Singapore Airlines to have a working plane on site at the appointed time. Even worse: chaotic deplaning with one crew member telling passengers to deplane and another yelling at them in the bridge for doing so. A mess of lines trying to get a new boarding pass for a rebooked missed connection—at the front of the line the agent said oh, you need to wait in this other line. Agents had no clue where to direct passengers and gave incorrect directions that necessitated more waiting. No updates to new flight time in the business class lounge. Once the flight was in the air, service was terrible. Attendants would ask for orders, then never bring them or bring the wrong thing."

Pros: "It's not the cheapest way to fly but it's a great way to cross the Atlantic. Seats are big enough for 2, really. Lay flat beds make the night crossing east tolerable. You really can get several hours sleep. The cabin crew is outstanding, patient, and extremely responsive to requests. Two meals served were excellent. Entertainment choices were complete. After a number of flights in Economy on other airlines I'm spoiled by Singapore Airlines and also by Business Class. And their fares seemed much less than others for the JFK to FRA route. Had no idea this level of luxury existed on an airplane."

Cons: "JustFly billed the wrong price, then to fix that,created a new ticket with my name misspelled and failed to cancel the original ticket. We later upgrade seats via Singapore then discovered the duplicate booking and misspelling. To fix that JustFly cancelled the booking with the seat upgrade. Singapore restored our upgrade at the airport but only on one direction so we had to go through it all again."

Cons: ""Customs" at JFK came to an entire halt. All passengers where stuck in the welcome hall for 1h, without any information, why held there and why nothing was moving forward. All CBP booths were closed, but 8 (eight!) employees, who normally direct arriving passengers to the kiosk-machines where hanging out in two groups sharing private stories and having laughs instead of at least informing passengers, what was going on. Lots of passengers where outraged...a couple in their mid 70s in front of us had to sit down on the floor, since they had circulation problems from standing in line so long. Sadly, JFK isn't what it used to be anymore."

I then proceeded to attempt to rebook and the Emirates agent advised they are sold out for the next 3 days and have no flight alternatives to offer. I contact flight network and the person I spoke proceeds to tell me the same thing and there is nothing they can do for me. Basically that I would need to purchase a whole new ticket on another airline as Emirates doesn't have availability. Which I did. Now I'm looking online and Flight Network has my exact flight on Emirates available at same price I paid for my ticket. But now my new ticket purchased to get home is non-refundable. I'm out over 1000 dollars because of bad info. This has been a horrific experience and after being loyal to Kayak for years.... I will never use the site again."

Pros: "There should be a limit on drinks. I sat next to a raging alcoholic who (thankfully) liked me, but became more beligerrent with each bottle of wine and can of beer. By the botton of 1 beer and minibottle # 6 she was literally shouting every curse word in the book (though she had a clear fondess for the "f word"), hugging me on a 5 minute basis, and "fake threatening" to punch at least 3 other surrounding passengers in the face for asking her to quiet down. None of the crew asked her to be quiet despite passenger complaints to emirates staff. In fact, they brought her another beer and some red wine following said complaints! After 3 hours I coaxed her into quietly watching a movie. If emirates had cut her off at drink 4 then I could have spent more of my time relaxing and enjoying the amenities I anticipated on that flight. Instead, I spent nearly the entire flight managing a drunk passenger for the betterment of all passengers within earshot."

Cons: "There were a number of people carrying H1N1 and coughing violently. I have since contracted H1N1, I had a fever of 105, and I have had to miss over a week of work. Another person that I kept in touch with from the flight has also missed work and is also bed ridden. It might be worthwhile investment to start asking sick passengers to wear masks. I am not sure how you could gain compliance, but it would be a good idea."

Pros: "Hawaiian Air has a direct flight from Honolulu which makes the 5000 trip bearable. The Hawaiian crew is really good-natured and warm, always w/a smile, even in the middle of the night. In these days of budget cuts, Hawaiian serves you too much food and even offers a complementary glass of wine. The only unfortunate thing is that you have to pay for all types of on board entertainment. All in all it’s a really great flight in economy."

Cons: "I was seated in the back row and found it difficult to rest/relax on this overnight flight from Auckland to Honolulu because the flight crew was in the back socializing very loudly to the point where it was unprofessional. I could tell that I was no the only guest annoyed by the noise.It was very inconsiderate and unprofessional to behave this way while on the job especially during the announcements that I couldn ot understand because of the talking behind me. I fly Hawaiian Airlines often and have never had this type of issue. I was surprised that none of the other crew members said anything to the noisy group of hosts/hostesses."

Cons: "Paid $600 for the better seats and they refused to give a full can of soda. Didn't get much of a window seat, the window was closer to the person in front of us. There was some guy on the plane in the same section as me and my husband and they gave him full cans so I guess it's who you know. I couldn't even eat the food, it made me nauseous. They arrived 30 minutes late and we almost missed our next flight. They didnt even ask for those with connecting flights to be let off first. Checked luggage handle was torn off by staff. Not worth the extra cost or going out of my way to book with Hawaiian. I won't go with them again."

Hawaiian Airlines do not offer any meals for plant-based (aka vegan) diets. They have vegetarian, but that is not acceptable for vegans. I spent 8 years living abroad. Many foreign carriers allow you to go online and manage your meals prior to your flight; vegan, kosher, low salt, Hindu, gluten free, etc. Business Class experience was much less than other airlines we've flown. Airbus aircraft are always seem on the "cheap" side to me."

When the cabin door closed, the seat next to me was empty, but we were taking off so I couldn't at that time move my wife. When they reached cruising altitude and they turned off the fasten seatbelts sign, I went back to where my was sitting but she was asleep."

Pointing people to a single counter person to obtain a seat on a plane after the person has already been on a 9 hour Hawaiian flight is beyond disrespectful. It is cruel. It was close to a couple of months that I had purchased the ticket and I get on the Plane in Auckland only to find I would need to process through TSA yet another time in order to get to the counter and obtain my seat. 3 hours in a TSA line allowed 20 minutes to get to that counter. I also needed to find a private space to give myself my insulin. I do not do that in public bathrooms or even my own bathroom..... but it never happened because I stood in Customs line and then Imigration line and yet again the third TSA line. I think TSA held up over 200 of us because they went to lunch. He were stopped still with absolutely no progress for over an hour."

She preferred to service a huge dog rather than myself, even though it was my turn . She also answered a male who cut in line rather than the person next in line. She did not know what was available and did not show any compassion for international travelers. We were treated as cattle."

Cons: "I am not a frequent flier on Cathay. I would say I would think twice before buying my next ticket. Their call centers and counter staff leave a huge amount to be desired. I called their help desk when I couldn't access my reservation. My problem is their systems push your first and middle names together as a first name in their systems so I couldn't access my reservation. I really, really struggled understanding the person on their help desk. Then 48 hours before my flight I tried to book my seats and get my boarding pass. There were no seats for a party of 3 traveling together and only middle seats for the 3 of us. I waited for 20 minutes calling their support center. Of course their team could not help. All seats were booked. Luckily she offered to book my seats for the return and we managed to get the last 3 together in the back of the plane. If you book through Kayak recommend immediately calling to book seat numbers. I have ran out of room but returning from Vancouver their systems didn't read American passports and everyone tried to get tickets issued the staff at the desk laughed when told and said they knew it was a problem....but it did keep the many skiers busy in the self service line:) Also the desk opens 2hours and 59 minutes before departure so don't arrive early"

Cons: "Where to begin....The flight was delayed an hr leaving Hong Kong. Then we were rerouted without notice to Newark International. Upon landing and changing our plans, we were told we were actually proceeding to our original destination in JFK. However, we have to wait for a new crew and we're stuck on the tarmac, on the plane for additional couple hrs. The experience was very aggravating, especially after such a long flight. Additionally, I find Cathays lack of transperancy with their customers very unprofessional. Sad as this is my preferred airline to flight but will take this into account for future bookings."

This was a major inconvenience since I had school 3 hours after I arrived and then work. I would suggest to not have arriving flights and connecting departing flights less than hour and thirty minutes to two hours apart. Only for delay issues."

I very much enjoyed the meals and snacks. Also, the complementary wine was a nice treat and tasted surprisingly good. -The complementary pillows and blankets were nice, warm, and soft. -The flights were on time, much better than American airlines that I've flown on. -The bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the flight and were much cleaner and nicer smelling than other airlines that I've been on."
Cons: "The only thing thing that could really be improved upon (which is not as much the airline's fault as the plane manufacturer's fault) is that the economy seats and cabin layout could be more comfortable for long flights. I understand how hard it must be to design a plane that fits that many people and that's comfortable for 24+hrs of flying, but a few improvements could relatively easily be made I think, which would improve the experience dramatically: -If the seats were softer (and perhaps more ergonomically designed with an average person's shape in mind) it would make a world of difference, I think. -Being able to put the arm up on the wall side of the window seat would make it much more comfortable. -Padding on the arms would also help. -Of course more leg space and wider seats would make a world of difference, but I know that is tough to do since space is limited."

The reclining pitch was excellent - even for the people sitting behind. There is a hassock-like panel to elevate one's legs about 45 degrees. Almonds instead of peanuts, a menu option with a main of a nice piece of steak (that could be cut with an airline knife!), amenity kit... Very happy passenger."
