Cons: "I arrived at the airport and had already checked in and had m boarding passes. For some reason they could not find me when I went to check my bag. After 30 minutes they saw that my seat assignment had been changed and that is why my boarding passes that I had printed at home did not match what their computer showed. I booked this reservation in May and had a seat chosen fairly toward the front. I am 73 years old and the closer to the front I can be helps. When I finally got on the plane to my surprise my seat was the very last seat on the plane across from the restroom. People continued to leave the door open after using the restroom so had to get up and continue to close the door or look at the restroom the whole flight. There was never any explanation as to why they did this. As a result, being lst off the plane, I almost missed my connection as I had to go two terminals over for my connection. At my age I cannot run so I arrived as the last people were getting on the plane. I will never fly American Airlines again."

To my surprise, there had many open space when I walked in the plane. The worst thing was my brand new suitcase was torn. I told the luggage agent the incident and she said they had no liability what so ever."

AA attendant at gate at CLT was extremely rude and unprofessional when I accuse Left my boarding passes in seat pocket. Would not summon someone to retrieve it. Made me wait until entire plane was disembarked and cleaned, and made me wait some more after. She was super snarky, made rude comments, and almost made my family miss our connection to EWN. I will never, ever, fly AA again. Worst customer service and tons of issues with maintenance, luggage handling, and delays."

Cons: "I called American Airlines as ssoon as I book my trip to set up and make sure my small dog could fly with me. They neglected to inform me their partner, jetstar, does not fly animals. My luggage did not arrive with me. Both of my suitcases were mangled and broken. Items in my suitcases were shattered and crushed even though they were well packed and protected. We got stuck on the terminal in MSP and missed our connecting flight. When we finally arrived the systems were down and could not get new flights or hotels. We were told we could not get hotels and had to argue for an hour. Even though it was a maintenance issue. I arrived a day late and had to take extra leave. The plane from LAX to Tokyo was horrific. I booked a window seat, was stuck in the very middle. There was no way to charge outlets devices. The screen did not work. And my new luggage was also damaged with even more items destroyed."

Cons: "This flight was added as they cancelled my flight directly to London then they dropped this flight and had just Phoenix to Lindon! It took many calls, one with over an hour wait, where were told different stories and expectations. I did not receive an actual ticket until the very morning if this flight!! It was very stressful!"

Cons: "Bad enough the long part of my trip ove seas had no wifi but then the 4 hour domestic flight did not have it either. I had planned to put my flight time to good use and catch up on work so i did not go back to a mountain of work but that never happened. Also, I've never been to an airport where you exit the boarding doors in the terminal then head down stairs to the tarmac to board a bus that make a complete lap of the terminal going near every AA plane obviously trying to figure out which one they need to drop us off at. If can get this close to losing people I now understand how luggage gets lost so often."

Cons: "Ear headphone jack would not turn down, you could hear the show from three seats away and the flight attendant was rude when I asked her for some different headphone to see if it would help. She acted like I was stupid and said "well did you turn it down?" Of course I tried that. I was very taken back by how she acted."

Cons: "Our plane ended up being delayed in Hermosillo for 2+ hours which caused us to miss our connections in Phoenix. The Mexican military gave American a very precise window in which they needed to take off from Hermosillo by, because of planned military maneuvers. The plan arrived on time but we missed our take-off window by 8 minutes. The ground crew and flt. crew showed no sense of urgency in getting the plane prepared to take off, the boarding of the plan etc. We could have easily taken off within the allotted window, except there was no sense of urgency or advance notice to any of the passengers. American in Phoenix made no attempt to accommodate us and we ended up having to buy tickets on Southwest in order to get home. Overall, a terrible experience."

Cons: "i had my boarding pass and chose my seat some time ago, in row 4. When I checked in, the AA representative switched my boarding card and I was told that my seat was no longer available. When I got to the gate, I spoke to the gate attendant. There were several people also speaking to them about their seats. I did not have a seat assigned to my boarding pass, so I stood until the entire plane boarded and the gate attendants could sort things out. In the end, I was given a seat at the back of the plane, even though booked my seat some time ago and am a Sapphire member. When I boarded, there was no room for my carry-on luggage. The flight attendant already understood what happened. She immediately took my bag, and found a space at the front of the airplane. This is the second disappointing flight in a row in 2 weeks I have had with AA. I'm not sure if it's just bad luck, or has something to do with the company. I had flown with U.S. Airways for years and never experienced any major issues."

They did have a streaming entertainment option through in-flight wifi, but tou have to pay per movie and no complimentary program! Even Delta airline have a selection of complimentary in addition to premium paid options."

Pros: "From start to finish the flight faced problems: unscheduled stop for refueling, change in planes for mechanical problems, emergency medical intervention, and more. Yet at every stage the flight crew and gate staff did an outstanding job communicating and seeking to alleviate passenger woes. With delays, we missed connections, and yet AA worked wonderfully to find alternatives. At the end of the day, we arrived at our destination, and even our luggage made the trip successfully! Wonderful courtesy, adaptability, and determination to serve. Thank you."

We felt abandoned by American Airlines because we asked three different people for assistance and they didn't seem to want to take on the problem. They were like Pontius Pilate, and "washed their hands" of us!!!"

Seats were ancient and broken, Engine couldn't start - twice, and no entertainment"

Pros: "I don't usually complain, and I have never responded to this kind of rating request, but, the American Airlines flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Phoenix was too inept to ignore. Firstly, I wasn't assigned a seat when I booked the flight. Then, at the time I checked in, as no regularly priced seat was reserved for me, I was forced to pay for a premium seat, for both the outbound and inbound segments. Secondly, no snacks were offered on the outbound flight, because "the ground crew forgot to supply the plane". This didn't bother me, but it did infuriate some of the other passengers. Finally, I paid for the GoGo inflight internet, but the download speed was sooooo slow, I finally gave up."

Cons: "Immediately after all passengers were boarded United discovered the plane had to be replaced. We all had to deplane, wait an hour more for a new A320, and reboard. Also irritating that delays are posted at 15 minute intervals and then updated; so you have to keep updating friends & family via WiFi. If it's predicted to be an hour, say so."

Pros: "I was happy to finally receive a drink one the flight started. A waterbottle at the seat and not other service would have been nice. Wifi was not working. The seats were small and cramped. My seat did not stay either up or kept moving around and would not stay adjusted. However the crew was fantastic and our two female pilots were amazing. Captain Amy touched down in Phoenix was one of the smoothest I have ever experienced."

Cons: "Crew was rude, not just to me, but to other patrons. Flight was packed going and the man scanning boarding passes spoke to those of us asking simple questions as if we were stupid and defiant. Was he a prison guard in his previous job? On the way to Newark, I had an aisle seat. One of the stewardesses blazed by me with a cart ramming it into my shoulder without so much as a, "sorry." I'm not a big woman but maybe as I dozed off I leaned over a bit...There is no way she didn't feel her cart hit me. Rudeness, it seems is a part of the culture at United because the flight attendants coming back squeezed past the long line for the bathroom without saying, "excuse me." They did however, say, "I need to get by," and one of them brushed by the gentlemen sitting next to me and bumped his laptop and coffee. Overall it seems that the crew working these particular United flights have forgotten that we pay hard earned money to fly. Some of us are going on vacation, to see loved ones, and some are flying to deal with unpleasant circumstances. The staff may fly several times a day, but most passengers do not. There's a lot of prep and anxiety, that goes into taking a flight and a surly flight crew multiplies that anxiety. No one wants to fly with a crew that hates their job."

Pros: "Lufthansa offered complimentary food on their three legs of my journey. Even the two hour flight Munich/ Malta. But United offers nothing. And the seats are way too narrow."

I tend to only fly United when I have no other options. This experience was exactly what I expected from the airline. However, I was traveling with my mother this trip and wish I would've spent the money to fly a different airline."

Cons: "Longest security line I've ever seen. I almost missed my flight though I was 3 hours early. Weird set up at departures. At gate warned flight overbookedso we were all stressed we may not even get seat though mine was booked months in advance. I was in zone 4 and they only allowed zones 1-3 to stow carry on items that we had to already lug around the airport for hours. I was forced to check my regulation sized bag in the passageway to the plane as well as everyone else in my zone. Economy seat especially tiny and cramped. Unpleasant flight attendents."

Another thing that bothered me was the fact that I had to pay $25 for my suitcase! Really United! Am I not allowed one piece of luggage? I don't like carry my bags around with me so now I have to pay to check it! Shouldn't that be the other way around! Charge for carry on luggage, it's such a hassle and also slows down boarding time, cases congestion in the hallway with everyone reaching for their luggage in the overhead bins! I can keep going, but what good is it gonna do. United airlines suck!"

Showed up an hour early as I always do at Eugene airport, only to have the gate shut in my face...we'd missed the flight. I then proceeded to get in my car and drive three hours to catch a connecting flight to Phoenix through traffic etc etc....only to arrive in Phoenix 6 hours later than expected. All of my evening business meetings, lost. Thanks United, you always seem to find a new way to screw it up."

My flight was going to be on time but the decided to give that plane to the people heading to Vegas because they had been delayed all morning. Spirit told us we would be delayed four hours, then 30 minutes later they said the flight was completely cancelled. I had to go back to the main terminal to pick up my bags and had to go to the Spirit Airlines ticket counter to rebook and get a refund. The line was so long and slow it would have taken hours to talk to someone from Spirit. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 50 minutes before I could finally get refunded. This made me miss the last Spring Training game in AZ! I've been flying for 35 years and this was the worst flying experience in my life!"

I sat next to a rude and inappropriate couple that was making out and kept bothering. I felt uncomfortable thought the entire flight. I will never fly with spirit again. I've had other issues as well with spirit the last time I flew but decided to give them a second chance. Never again."

Cons: "Paying for extra luggage weight over 40 pounds. All other airlines set it at 50 pounds so when told I had to pay a ridiculous $25 because bag was at 47 pounds (underweight for other airlines). It spoiled my experience with Spirit. You advertise cheap prices but are sneaky with extra costs. Ridiculous. I do not ever plan to fly Spirit ever again. Disgusted. Let people know in large print that the luggage weight is 40-yet that's ridiculous not to go with 59. Women at checkin were unfriendly & unprofessional. Such a horrid experience."

Pros: "I like that Spirit offers a build-your-own flight: you can pay for luggage and a good seat and the total comes to about the same as another airline's airfare, or you can just pack very lightly and not pay for any of the extras and it's a very inexpensive way to travel!"

Cons: "What are you saying about entertainment, there was nothing!!! Used to get a little pillow, blanket or watch a movie but nothing now!! Our 1 piece of luggage only weighed 22 pounds but had to pay $104.00 for round trip for it!!! Too much!!!!"

Pros: "I was glad to have a $118 round trip fare to Phoenix at peak weekend travel time. Crew was very pleasant and professional. Worked to get move other passengers around on a very fill flight so that I would be seated with my 11 & 12 year old daughters."
Cons: "When they say 'no frills' they mean 'no frills'! They even charge for water! Want a Coke? $3. Bag of pretzels $3 more. Luckily, our flight was only 1 hour 20 minutes long. I'm not sure i could have stood the seat much longer. i am only 5'1" tall and 120 lbs and I was cramped. I have no idea how a regular sized human would cram themselves into one of these seats."

Cons: "I usually like to fly an airline that doesn't make every attempt to be as inexpensive as possible; however this flight from Chicago to Phoenix for $177 was the earliest available so I made my decision based on that. What I didn't like is what you can probably guess; I was dinged $55 for a carry on bag, check in was through kiosk only with agents available is something went wrong (the card reader on mine was bad), there was no complimentary anything on the flight - that includes water, and there were advertisements in the plane. Ugh,"

Cons: "Extremely tiny seats that don't recline (and I'm a small person). The plane was delayed because they couldn't find a gate to dock in, even though the plane was just sitting there. All food and drinks are for purchase only."

Cons: "baggage charge is too high! And I got knicked for my carryon too $100 more cost. Never flown Spirit; did not know it's an airlines for those who don't bring anything. Not even free water on board or a soda - crazy. None of the seats on the plane recline - merely a cattle car airline."

Cons: "We landed in Dallas at 1 am, when we were suppose to land at 10:45 PM the day before. This was due to weather, and I know that Spirit can't control that, however, they PROMISED us that our connecting flight to PHX would be held for us. I would have understood if they said they cannot do that, but they promised us that it would be and then let that flight leave 10 MINUTES before we arrived. That makes no sense to me. Either hold the plane or don't, but why let it leave 10 minutes before we landed??? Anyway, I was then in the front of the line for information and was told that I could get on a flight to Las Vegas in 10 minutes and then get a flight to PHX later that morning, or risk not getting to PHX until 10 PM that night. They rushed us onto the plane and gave us a boarding pass for this flight and said that our boarding passes and hotel information would be waiting for us in Vegas. We landed in Vegas, and NO ONE from Spirit knew what was going on. It took another 1-2 hours for them to have our information sorted, and the only reason they had any customer service present was because a different flight had been delayed, otherwise we would have been alone at this airport with nothing set up. It was a really disappointing way to start a vacation."

Cons: "The connecting flight was tight. No one informed us about delays with baggage. About 40 of us missed our connecting flight to NY after kindly being expedited through immigration and sprinting to the gate. There were no reparations made for the miscalculation and I had to buy another flight to NY from a different airline just to get out of FL. The airline still does not recognize any fault. Totally appalled at the level of competence and customer service. I will never ever fly this airline again."

Pros: "I thought that the rate is paid was great cause the leg from Dallas to Phoenix is a regular route. I only usually paid about $15.00 more. But my surprise came when I was ready to board. My carry on was a regular sized back pack that weighed 9lbs , Because it was 4inches taller than the carry on sizing box I had to pay $55.00 in order to board my flight. Now keep in mind I only $69.00 dollars for the flight it self. The ticket agent was rude and threatened to charge me $100.00. I would never fly this airline ever again, and I will spread the horrible experience"

If you have to wait and charge people ridiculous prices at the boarded point I feel that is being dishonest. I would rather be told all of the fees upfront without surprises at the end."

Cons: "Very disappointed. They misplaced my bag for the entire trip. Central customer service is very difficult to get a hold of (I have yet to get a hold of them) and the front desk staff is unaccountable and incredibly unhelpful. Will not be using Spirit in the future."

Pros: "The flight attendants, the departure gate attendants and the pilots were wonderful; both kind and helpful. Also, the aircraft was clean and my accommodations were as comfortable as could be; seats are NEVER wide enough for my shoulders and all airlines pack too many passengers too close together."
Cons: "The initial fare seemed to be very reasonable, but I felt "nickel and dimed" to DEATH. I had to pay extra money to sit with my husband, even though I bought our tickets months in advance. The weight limit for a suitcase is 10 pounds less than the industry standard; I was charged another 25$, since ours weighed 48. Water, coffee and other beverages that are normally complimentary...another charge. You want to bring a carry-on item along with your purse/personal item...CHARGED AGAIN. All said and done, our tickets, with all of the extras came to $950; even flying Delta, with two tickets, one checked bag and two complimentary beverages would've been less expensive. While your competitors may charge more money initially for a flight, at least they are upfront about the fees/charges. I have learned my lesson and in the future, would choose to rent a car and drive to my destination before I'd ever fly Spirit again."
