The gate crew at Asheville was very friendly and on top of letting passengers know why things were being delayed. The air crew was friendly. The delay experienced through American Airlines (American Eagle) was inconvenient and made for a long day without any sleep. The flight was smooth. However, the seats were obviously in need of new cushions. They were hard and uncomfortable. The aircraft was clean, though.

We had a very attentive and bubbly flight attendant in our cabin. She made the flight more enjoyable. There were some issues fueling up so we ended up sitting in to plane too long, but that's no fault of American. These things happen.

Everything went perfectly. Check-in, bag drop, etc. The flight and crew were excellent.

Cons: "They boarded the plane, only to tell us they had to de-ice, which is understandable. However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."
Pros: "It started with a 2 hour delay. Then, when the plane finally got to Orlando, there was a smoke alarm going off. We had to wait another 30 minutes for that to be fixed. Then when we got on the plane there was a issue with the baggage and we sat again for another 30 minutes"

We finally got off the ground almost three hours late but staff tried to be as helpful as possible though they didn’t know much. It was good the passengers seemed fairly patient and accepting. The horror was at the airport in Venice where it took over two hours in very long line just to get through passport check."

She did get put on another flight a couple hours later but had a 12 hour layover in London which made her miss a full day of vacation."

Cons: "The flight was late due to maintenance and caused us to miss our connecting flight to Chicago. American Airlines customer assistance at the airport was absolutely terrible. They were rude and inconsiderate as they kept suggesting to fly standby. We shouldn't have to fly standby when it wasn't our fault why were late. They told us our bags would be ok going to Chicago and they we would make the flight, but we did not. I do not know why didn't wait for us considering there were 8 others that also missed the connecting flight. We had to fly to Denver and stay overnight with no luggage and catch a 7:00am flight to Chicago. The last surprise I received was my damaged bag when I got back to Chicago. Thank you for making this trip memorable in a terrible way. I will never book or recommend Kayak or use American Airlines again."

One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."

I was sitting in the back and the flight attendant who was suppose to assist us made us feel like i was a bother to her. First of all she just rudly dropped biscuits on my table didnt ask if i wanted and then I had to ask her for coffee, she didnt ask me if i wanted something to drink. Finally she brought my daughter and I some coffee. i ask for sugar and she said im very busy you have to wait....eventually she gave me one packet of sugar. I had to ask for another sugar for my daughter , so when i ask she gets upset and tells me i have to wait but there as a white who ask for assistance and she was very polite to her."
Pros: "We were notified of the pending delay in our flight from Athens to Philly very promptly on the morning of the 10th. We immediately called and spoke to a British Airways agent and also a supervisor who was understanding and kind enough to accommodate us by reserving seats on a later connecting flight with American Airlines from Philly to Phoenix. We did not receive a confirming email and ended up calling back. We were then told that Vouchers will be waiting for us at the Philadelphia airport with our names."
Cons: "When we checked in at Athens airport there was no information available for our connecting flight in Philadelphia. The AA counter was chaotic, the agents were rude and had changed our seats to 2 separate areas. When we arrived in Philadelphia there were no vouchers waiting for us. The only thing that the agent could find were seat assignments . We stood in line over an hour waiting for her to figure out what had happened and almost missed our connecting flight . Even though my daughter was in a wheelchair with a brace on her leg and in pain, the agent at the counter was not very empathetic at all. The agent also kept saying that this was not correct somebody made a mistake to tell us we were booked and that person will get in trouble. Eventually she spoke with the supervisor and gave us 2 boarding passes."

I received errors when trying to access gogoinflight on my tablet, even when I had the most updated app. Therefore I was unable to use the app during my flight to Philadelphia. Also, when checking in from our original departure location, MCO, we were not provided our boarding pass or luggage tags for our final destination, Barcelona, only to our connecting flight, Philadelphia. The connecting flight was delayed in MCO for an 1 hour and a half, after we have boarded the plane. So we waited in the plane for the whole hour and half while a maintenance issue was being resolved. The delay almost cost us to be late for our final flight to Barcelona. Since we were not given our boarding passes for PHL to BCL it caused confusion when trying to board our plane in PHL to Barcelona, and also caused for our baggage to not arrive with the flight. After landing, we spent an additional 2 hours at the Airport going through customs, and waiting on line for the lost and found desk for baggage in Barcelona. The lost and found desk had three agents available to assist, however we can only talk to one which was designated specifically for American Airlines. This caused a very long wait time of 1 hour. We were advised the bags stayed in Phildelaphia since they did not have the additional luggage tags, and will not arrive till the next day. Overall the experience within the Airport kiosks, service desks, and baggage check in' s was not a pleasant experience. I believe many of these issues could have been avoided if the American Airlines agents were more knowledgeable and attentive."

During two beverage services she did not ask me if I wanted anything but simply looked at me with disdain and sighed loudly. She wasn't rude; just not friendly and I never once saw her smile. She seemed tired and annoyed. I understand that feeling. I've been a FA for 16 years, still junior at my company, but it reminded me how important body language and facial expressions are when we work hospitality and customer service in the public eye. I hope everything is ok with her and I'm sorry if I did something that irritated her. I didn't get her name."

Pros: "Equipment was an A330. I was seated in Row 11 and had priority boarding. As a result, I had considerable leg room and not trouble finding overhead space. Seating in the back has several inches less "pitch" between seats. A330s provide a very smooth ride."
Cons: "Food: Salad was good, you could taste the arugula. Chicken, once you scrape off the barbecue sauce, was decent. The rest of the lunch did not seem worth eating. The best option if you are hungry is to either eat in the terminal or bring something you do enjoy with you. The movie selection had nothing you likely have not seen already. Be aware that sometimes PHL moves slowly. We waited over 5 minutes for the plane door to open. Bags took about 40 minutes to come up. There were no lines at immigration. Connecting in less than 2 hours can be iffy."

Supposed to arrive in Philly approximately 2:24pm - we didn't arrive until 3:03pm. Baggage took another 20-30 minutes. All American emoloyees looked tired. Not one smile either to Orlando or from Orlando. (Oh yeah - we were late taking off to start my vacation from Philly because a crew failed to arrive to "start the engines of the aircraft," per captain's announcement. The entire aircraft boarded and sat, again, for 30 minutes without any air conditioning or air flow in the cabin.) Blah experience. Blah employees. And two different captains announced the reasons for delay with an "annoyed tone.""

Pros: "I flew first class. Philadelphia airport is horrendous. I chose to fly first class to avoid lines and make flying by my lonesome go more smoothly. There are no special lines for first class there are absolutely no perks to flying first class out of Philly. The first class flight attendant was rude. They ran out of hot food by the time they got to me so I was served yogurt ... I don't eat yogurt. I waited 40 minutes for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim. The flight to Philadelphia from Tampa was a good experience. They had first class lines. The airport was cleaner. The flight attendant Steve, was kind and professional. I was served a hot lunch. I'm a diabetic and when my blood sugar went low he got me orange juice quickly. I waited maybe 10 minutes for luggage at baggage claim. However with the horrific experience in Philadlephia I may never fly American again. Definitely will never fly out of Philadelphia again. I was told by the woman who I sat next to on the way home that she hates American and usually flys Delta for her business trips."

Cons: "I feel as though I should receive some kind of courtesy credit for the poor condition of the plane, friendliness of the staff, efficiency of the staff, and finally for being 3 hours late because failure to adequately fuel the plane. I was skipped for receiving refreshments, the plane had interior panels falling off. The second flight didn't have enough fuel for a 40 minute flight. The pilot told us that we were delayed for rain for 10 minutes but we did not have enough fuel to circle around. As a result we came back to Philadelphia. I missed a graduation party as a result. I had a poor experience. The flight attendants did not greet me on entrance or exit."

Never again. Too much to list. The last straw was a flight attendant said it was too hot in the airplane to board. So she delayed us an hour and a half to “cool” the airplane down. This was after a quick turn from another crew who arrived at our gate on time.

As seen in other reviews, after 4 hours they cancel flight without notice, keep sending text messages of delay, and most importantly they insist offering only alternative flight next week (2-5 days later). I asked full refund including hidden fees and changed to other flight company. Even they verbally committed to full refunds, nothing has happened for one week as of now. Hope this helps to protect other customers."

You have to be very careful that you understand all the rules about baggage and seating (don't pay extra-they'll just assign you one, and you probably won't sit with your traveling companion). Great as long as you can fit everything you need into a bag that fits under the seat in front of you. got TSA pre-check both ways, too. yippee."

My second crumbs all over the seat and floor. The seats were horribly uncomfortable and did not recline. They claim they have low fares but there were hidden costs (charges for picking seats AND carry-on bags) that we didn't learn about until we arrived at the airport and had to use money we saved to spend on vacation for the flight instead. I would have rather paid weeks ahead so I didn't have to use our fun money."

Cons: "Departing Desk Clerk Services at Orlando Early Departures. I was told to check in with a agent through the KIOSK. My flight was to leave at 7:00 am. I had know bags to check-in. I went straight to KIOSK to check-in and was declined at 6:15 am to do so. Was declined boarding by desk clerk was assisted by another agent with a boarding pass for the next flight at 11:30 am. Due to lack of service I was not able to make my scheduled 1:30 pm meeting in New Jersey."

I can see charging for people who fly with excessive pieces but this is my first time flying Frontier and to charge someone who brings one airline approved suitcase just isn't nice. I'm sure it's too much to ask for ANY sort of TV/Movie. I mean you fly to Orlando, if you put on a Disney movie it would be like shooting fish in a barrel and may even keep the kids a little quieter. Seeing as I have no children it would be great to have them slightly entertained if only for a little peace. I could care less about food/beverage options which of course were extra which I quickly realized was the name of your game. My reasonably priced $200 plane ticket became a $340 plane ticket once I realized there are no options but to either pay for my luggage or vacation naked. Also I was charged one price on my departing flight and a different price on my return flight for my luggage. When I asked why I was told the prices changed that very week. How convenient for your airline and nobody else."

The seat had no recline, not even the new two inches. That dinky tray table, have never seen before. What is this Spirit Airlines (never flown)? Cons: "Flight canceled due to hurricane weather. Wait times to call Frontier were super long. I had to purchase a ticket from Delta because the wait time for help with Frontier was so frustrating!!!"

If you're over a certain weight limit you should be required to buy a second seat since the person next to them is sharing half the seat with them. The crew speaker didn't know where he was going. Said the wrong destination twice and was highly inappropriate over the intercom trying to be "funny". Safe to say I will never be traveling on frontier again."

For example, as we were beig told that our flight was delayed an hour, the monitors all over the airport were reading "Boarding". And we were never given updates during the delay. In fact, when the flight got pushed back up a bit, they just suddenly announced they were boarding, and those who thought they had an hour wait were far from the gate, so we ended up waiting anyway."

They rushed to board us, we sat on plane, started to pull from gate then right back to gate to unboard. Sat in airport clueless, finally flew. Expected arrival 11:15pm, turned into 1:40am. Ended up costing me double $$ when I had to re rent a car because our counter closed at 1am (not a problem had we been on time) Flight home wasn't any better. Separated my companion flyer and myself, attendant got very snippy when I asked about it - told me I should have paid extra money to sit next to each other. Arrival into Phila airport, waited an HOUR and 10 minutes for our bag. Never again. I'll spend more money on better airlines to avoid that headache. Ended up wasting money on other things just to "save" a few dollars on my flights. Worst flight experience I've EVER had, that says a lot when you fly 2-3x a month."

I desapointed that all, not happy.

Pros: "The crew assisted us in getting Standby passes when we missed our original flight. The Spirit representative (Isabella) was amazing in help my family and I get back home."
Cons: "Better organization of flight departures and notification of long airport bag check-ins."
Cons: "The flight could have left on time instead the crew allowed passengers to continue to board 15mins after we were supposed to have taken off. The pilot was inexperienced and we had a hard landing. Lastly the flight attendants seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else but on the plane."

If you’re diverting to a different city, passengers have a right to know what’s going on. Hidden/extra fees. I see no cost benefit in flying Slirjt due to all of the fees"

We went down to baggage claim to see if by chance anyone turned in the attachment but we’re only told to file a report and if they so happen to find it they will contact us. This is no help whatsoever. Will never fly spirit again!"

For example I recently took a flight from Las Vegas Nevada to Melbourne Florida and that pilot on Delta explained where landmarks were all along the way. That is something comforting about a pilot connecting with his crew and the people aboard the flight. So I would really like that if Spirit would include that. Additionally I do like onboard entertainment but maybe the fares would have to reflect that."

Cons: "Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is a la carte. So be prepared. I didn't realize this when I booked. I probly won't fly Spirit again because unless you don't want/need food and beverages, a carry-on, leg room, in-flight entertainment, etc it's not worth it. I even had to ask the B&B owner for a printer so I could print my boarding pass (to avoid paying $10 at the airport) In the future I'll pay the extra $75 so I don't have to worry about all of that."

A total inconvenience, I had to rearrange all my travel plans, incurring many additional expenses and also book a different outgoing flight at a higher cost in order to get to my destination. Also, the flight seems cheaper but then they gouge you by charging for your seat and also for your carry on. Not any cheaper in the end. NEVER AGAIN."

Cons: "Fare cheap but all the 'musts'made it more than any other airline: $9 Online fee; $25 kiosk fee (which didn't work and had to pay $50 fee to check in with clerk; had to check bag approved for under seat/carry on (12"c12") and since kiosk didn't work, charged $60 for 1st bag, even though I paid $60 for a 'first checked bag' and 2nd bag should hAve been cheaper. It was TSA agent who told me I would be required to check the bag by Spirit as it didn't meet carry on criteria and if I didn't check now, would be $100 at gate. I told her that I was traveling back with same TSA approved (and Spirit online rules) and she became rude and rejected my bag (and did a complete body search) so, I was forced to check the bag or miss my flight. I asked her and the Spirit clerk (3) if this was a TSA/ Spirit racket with kickbacks for TSA and/or Spirit and NOT on of them laughed, smiled, or denied this question. Mever again will I fly Spirit airlines or recommend to anyone!"

Cons: "Seating was too tight and uncomfortable. I felt like a sardine and I am an average size woman. Anyone larger would have a serious problem. I was very unhappy with all the hidden costs not mentioned up front. These costs doubled the cost I paid when I booked the flight. I actually had to pay more to have a seat when I went online to print the boarding pass! My "carry-on" bag was the allowable size for every other airline, but I was forced to pay an additional $40 and had to check it instead of carrying it on. I was very disappointed and don't plan on flying with Spirit in the future. With all the additional costs, it will cost less money to fly another airline that is more comfortable and accommodating."

When I went to check in online, there was no itinerary to be found. I called, and they said since I was a "no show", it was cancelled and I could not be reimbursed. I offered to use it as credit and get a new flight, paying the difference. This request was declined. The agents on the phone were very rude. Spirit nickel and dimes you, has no available seats, doesn't feed you, and the planes are small. I will never attempt to take this airline again."
Cons: "Getting our boarding pass to print was a nightmare. I kept getting password invalid. I was told I would be sent an e-mail to reset my password. NOT! made that request 6 times before I waited 30 minutes to get a rep on the phone. Was told I had to sign up to be a Free Spirit Member to get my boarding pass. No where does it say that that is what you had to do . The rep asked if I had booked through them? I told I booked through Kayak and he gave me attitude. Kind of huffed and I thought he mumbled "you get what you pay for" So I signed up and got our boarding pass. Coming back AGAIN we couldn't get our boarding pass. The rep at Cabana Bay got a Spirit rep on the phone I told her I was a Free Spirit Member and I gave her my member # and she me told I didn't exist in the system, but she would send me an e-mail to change my password Of course that didn't come through. I put Sara, from the front desk, back on the phone and between her and the rep we got our boarding pass. We started our vacation upset and aggregated. Ended it the same way."
Pros: "I enjoyed having no one in the seats next to me...have the ability to stretch out was nice, but that's probably because the rest of the passengers were still in the horrible line to check-in."
Cons: "THE ENTIRE CHECK-IN PROCESS!!! Spirit was having a BAD morning. The Kiosks weren't working and they had a RIDICULOUS line. I arrived at the airport, pre-checked in, just needing to print my boarding pass. After finding out that none of the kiosks were working I had to stand in a line that passed TWO OTHER AIRLINE DESKS and weaved through the entire Spirit queue. I would have missed my flight had I not had an extremely helpful airport employee (I think people called him Paps) who rushed me to the front, had them print my pass, and helped me get through security quickly. The guy was a hero. The airline not doing anything to assist their passengers was a nightmare. Never flying Spirit again."

Cons: "Only one suitcase, otherwise had to pay $52 for anything extra. Some passengers had more than one case/bag without charge. The staff acted like they did not enjoy their professions. Charging for snacks seemed outrageous & asinine. The flight was very rough and at some points very frightening. Dropped down more than once with my stomach having a pit. The passengers clapped their hands when we landed as if it wasn't safe. Not happy, extremely disappointed. The fight to Florida from Detroit was awesome & pleasantly surprised. I probably wouldn't recommend Spirit to friends or family."
