we were in premium economy, but we both got middle seats and had to sit separately. i could have avoided this by trying to obtain seats sooner, but i tried 3 times and gave up. ANA's technology is not friendly for newcomers. no, check that---I think it is nigh impossible. not sure we are coming back. ana can do better to provide a front end that's friendly to users in both US and Japan.
Flight was diverted to Osaka due to engine problems then arrived at a different airport 6 hours late. We were so tired. ANA did the best they could.
The boarding process, food is one of the best, seats are roomier with better leg room.. the attendants are nice and accommodating…
Great as can be expected with a 10 hour flight over the Pacific. Great movie selection of new releases that hadn’t hit streaming yet. And despite the bad rep, I actually like the airplane good.
One of the best business class seats I’ve had. The lie flat seats made it comfortable to endure a 12 hour flight. Service was excellent and food was great.
Flight was on an ANA flight not air Japan. They did most excellent. Again the flight had excellent legroom for someone that is over 6 foot tall and the staff was very very nice. The only issue you may run into is that the person sitting next to you, may not be able to speak the same language as you.
Overall it was good. Making changes to the reservation on ANA’s website was little challenging. Would like to see those features improved in the future.
The crew was excellent. The flight was delayed for 20 to 25 minutes. We did arrive a bit later than expected. The AC could have been better.
Very disappointed with the seat selection. During the booking, I selected seats such that my wife and I would sit next to each other. However, during check-in, we found out that the airline changed our seats and we were seated apart; and I was stuck in the middle seat with two strangers. Very disappointing experience. We would not fly ANA next time.
Upgrade the comfort, food and attendants. Also we arrived in Houston in the morning. The meal they served two hours before our arrival was a dinner entree. It would have been a lot nicer and much more appropriate to have had breakfast.
Business class lie flat seat is the best and easiest to operate 👍👍
My seat had zero leg room. I thought I was flying Japan Airlines, a company I picked based solely on the legroom... When I got to the airport on my first flight, they informed me that I was in fact flying J.A.L VIA American Airlines... What a bait and switch. I will never fly AA on an international flight ever again.
Excellent flight. Check in experience was a breeze. Smooth and on time flight. Friendly and attentive attendants. Premium economy seating was very spacious. The lounges in both SEATAC and Narita were first rate. The only negative was the inflight food and entertainment options, which were limited, and Wi-Fi was not working. We would definitely fly JAL again.
My luggage is missing and waiting to hear back about it. 3 of my 6 checked bags didn’t make it to DFW.
Boarding, crew, and seating were great. The food needs to improve.

I love Japan Airlines! I go out of my way to book with them. It is regrettable that the One World Alliance includes American Airlines though. The last leg of my flight from LAX to Austin was easily the worst, most disorganized part of the trip. Next time I will plan to fly directly from DFW to Haneda to avoid American Airlines as much as possible.
Issue 1: We had a 2 hour delay to repair a windshield wiper, during which we sat on board on the runway. Issue 2: it was VERY HOT in the cabin for most of the flight, we were sweating. We asked to make it cooler. They didn’t succeed in doing so. Other than that, it was great. Fantastic food, and extremely pleasant, accommodating flight crew.
We asked for Hindu vegetarian meal in advance and the quality of the food was horrendous. Never flying JAL again!
