Cons: "The person next to me was x and overflowing onto my area and leaning on me through the flight"

Staring with being asked to pay $39 if I wanted to preselect my seat. My friend and I chose the free option of selecting our seats 24 hours before the flight--her luggage didnt even make in on the plane! It was finally delivered at 2:00 AM the next morning; well past the 8:00 PM promised delivery, which caused us to lose an entire eveing in Paris. On the return flight, home, she was told there wasn't even a seat for her on the plane. I failed to add that after booking and paying for her flight, they cancelled and deleted the SFO to London leg of the flight without so much as notifying her via email, phone, or text. Mind you, the London to Paris leg was not cancelled. Had we not tried to pre-book our seats, she would never have known they had cancelled her flight. What impacted her, impacted me, so needless to say, neither of us will ever fly BA again! BTW, their online customer service representatives were very nasty to deal with."

Finally some agents arrived started checkng people in. After 15 min in line, they told us that if we were flying to the U.S., our flight was delayed and we would not make our connection, and to get out of line and wait. After 20 more minutes, they said that was a mistake and get back in line. I waited for approximately an hour and a half in line there, and had to run to my flight. There was no effort made to hurry us through security or any apologies."

BA has tons of movies and TV to choose from, and lots of first-run. This had about 6 TV shows, 2 episodes each, and maybe 20 movies, ranging in age but mostly not very new. When you're on a daytime flight for 7 hours, this becomes something you care about."

We had had a problem at JFK on our flight out and we were told to expect problems on the return. The clerk separated me from my wife and sister (who needed a wheel chair) and then issued us boarding passes only for the flight to Dublin without explanation. I waited in a line at the gate for another 2 hours to straighten it out."

If you needed a little more, you could easily get up, ask for an extra coffee/water/other and they happily whipped it right out. Very nice."

All else, pay up. This looks like an airline that is trying to enter market and gain share by offering low prices but is not up to the challenge of giving adequate service, particularly at ticketing, check-in and at gate when they succeed in luring passengers in with the low price. I am not likely to fly Icelandair again unless I am desperate for low priced ticket, which is not often the case, thank goodness."

Six and a half hours, the flying time from and to Washington DC from Iceland, is a very long time to sit in seats that are marginally comfortable with minimum leg room. it may be what we will have to put up with from now on, but I can tell you I DON'T LIKE IT! Iceland Air is the definition of "No Frills" flying, because there are NO frills. I believe they, like most airlines forget that the whole point of having the airline is customers, but It seems that they would like to cut to the point where the customers aren't so annoyed that they stay away, but all most."

This was an A320 and I was about #10 getting on the flight. Space was not an issue. This added an hour to a 25 hour day to wait for luggage at LAX. And BA gives the agents an edge in that their test fixture has rounded corners to that a 22 inch suitcase that has hard square edges at the bottom (or wheels that make it square) won't fit in it. So the agent just points that it doesn't fit and you have to check. I was not happy from Paris to London."

The most difficult part was to see one flight attendant working hard while another sat in her jump seat and read her Bible (commendable, but still....) Overall, I'd say it was a bare-bones flight. The cheese and crackers available for purchase for $8.49 was modest but good; it's hard to screw up cheese and crackers. I won't choose American again to make this particular leg of travel (again, I bought the return from an agency that said it was a British Airways flight, but ended up being operated by American Airlines.)"

We were herded on like cattle, except for 1st & business class, it was a free for all, not by rows. Crew didn't seem to want to help anyone. I don't know if they're overworked by the time they head to SEA, but they need to get their attitudes in check. I'm tired too when returning home, I expect the staff to be as pleasant on my inbound as my outbound."

The seats are WAY too small, and when the person in front of me reclined (which he did even though I requested he move slightly forward for over 9 hours!) my knees were pressed into the seat in front of me. Therefore, my leg was in the aisle just slightly, and when the staff rolled the cart through they crashed right into my knee. They did not apologize or ask me to move my leg first. Also, when I tried to check in and change my seat on line, I was not able to do so. When I called on the phone, they were not able to do so. When I arrived in Milan airport, they were unable to do so. Finally, at Heathrow, they changed my seat for the second flight to an aisle which is good because I would NEVER fit in a middle or window seat with my long legs unless the person in front of me did not recline their seat at all."

Even though it was partly my fault for being too stupid to pass the test of knowing how to put my suitcase diagonally into the sizing box, I still felt bad about being lied to by the staff who told me that my suitcase was too big and that they would take it from me at the gate if I refused to surrender it there at check-in, even though they could obviously see by how easily it fit into the sizing box that the size was perfectly fine. This treatment made me feel singled out for harassment, as I saw others being allowed to carry on suitcases that were much larger, but in the end I got over it. All other staff were very pleasant to me."

Personnel at the CDG airport was very unhelpful, and no one seemed to know how to get to get to Terminal 3. We arrived late (not for lack of trying, since 6 separate people had the same problem). We were send left and right, often getting back to the same place. 2 hours should be enough to make any connection. But apparently not at CDG!"

I looked up saw Captain Hope and told him what had happened. He went back to the access gate and back to my seat and returned with my cell phone. I was shocked. What Captain does that? This guy is great and was a positive reflection on British Airways. What made it more special is we were in France during the attacks and if I didn't have my cell phone I wouldn't have been able to keep in touch with my family to let them know I was okay. This is simply poor personnel management. They should have a back-up plan if an employee falls ill. One that doesn't involve flying in an employee from another region of the country, let alone another state. The inefficiency continued on the return flight when it took a whole hour for the luggage to come out! Will avoid flying American again at any cost."

Normally this is not a big deal, but in Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport the two airlines are in different terminals which required a fair amount of time to travel from one to the other. The confirmation email I received was labeled as an American flight, but since I received it from Alaska, I assumed I had reserved an Alaska flight. Also, the confirmation email I received from Kayak had me listed as a passenger on an Alaska flight. I'm assuming I originally booked for an Alaska flight, but later on in the confirmation process I was somehow changed to an American flight via Alaska. While I don't see this as a problem for Kayak, I think this is a situation in which your feedback could be useful to help avoid confusion for passengers in the future."
