Cons: "Our experience in the Istanbul airport. We got off our connecting flight and no one was willing to provide us with directions. We had to stand in a security line for two hours thinking that we had as a consequence missed our connecting flight. Again, no communication. We found out when we finally got through security (we had already gone through security at the Paris airport), everyone was in the same situation and our flight had been delayed. It would have been helpful to know that as we were standing in line. While in the line, many people panicked and starting pushing their way to the front of the line. Again, no officials were there to keep order. It was truly a mess! And creating too much anxiety and stress that I really wanted to not have on my trip back to the USA. I realize that in these times, we must go through added security, but I am accustomed to US airports where there is more communication over the intercom and by airport officials. In Istanbul, it seemed that everyone did not want to give directions, and airport officials seemed to avoid the public they were there to serve."

Broken tvs, unhelpful staff, confusing communication preventing smooth travel experience.

Seats were surprisingly comfortable and sufficiently roomy. Flight attendants were helpful and courteous. Flight departed on time and arrived a little early. My wife and I both agreed this may have been the best flight we've ever had: a direct flight from Kansas City to Atlanta to visit my son and his family. Convenient, relatively inexpensive, and overall a great experience!

I liked that once up, things ran more smoothly and we still landed on time despite a 45+ minute delay leaving the gate. The boarding process was another story. With the demand for proof of a negative COVID test prior to boarding by the US, Air France had just 2 staff members checking these tests results, collecting a paper affidavit of sorts also required by the US, and checking boarding passes and passports for an entire Boeing 777 full of passengers. There were other staff around This seemed preposterous. Then, when I finally boarded, the luggage was still be loaded onto the plane at 1:50pm for a flight schedule to leave at 1:15pm.

Seats were narrow and uncomfortable ( business ) and there was only one toilet for both business and premier…. The one up front was blocked as it was solely for the crew …. One always had to wait in line with 3/4 people in front of you ..at minimum….. while you waited , the crew made it clear that you were in their way …. Fair enough as we had to stand partially in the galley…

They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."

My buddies and I spent two and a half days in Las Vegas for a bachelor party followed by two days in the LA area for a wedding (yes we did it Hangover style) :) Thank you Delta!"

Another long, slow line for customs, another long slow line for security=Charles De Gaulle airport was awful. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our departure time and got to our boarding gate with no time to spare."

It is not written on the passport, nor mentioned during booking. I’ve been to Latvia four times previously and never heard this requirement. I cancelled the flight with Lufthansa who said I must call Kayak who gave me another number to call and that number then sent an email that said there was a $350 rebooking fee for each ticket, IF they decided I was eligible for rebooking. Yes, we got a great rate, but looks like wasted $ now. I will book directly with the airline in the future to ensure the ability to rebook."

We like that the silverware is actually metal instead of plastic!"

When asked, the FA simply said "this isn't our usual plane for these types of flights." However, we had the same issue when flying to Frankfurt with them, so the company seems to just be lying. The food can barely pass as food. Everything was ice cold except the main dinner entree, even the bread. The only vegetable available throughout our 8+ hour flight was shredded carrots absolutely swimming in mayonnaise. The boarding process was exceedingly slow and they would not allow use of cell phones for boarding passes, although their check in provides the attachments. This required probably 1/4 of those boarding to have to step aside to another line for a paper copy. Again, no apologies or explanations from the company. Overall, I wish I had shopped around a bit more and chosen another airline. International flying is supposed to be somewhat enjoyable, even in economy class. Instead, this was the longest 8+ hours of my life."

This was an A320 and I was about #10 getting on the flight. Space was not an issue. This added an hour to a 25 hour day to wait for luggage at LAX. And BA gives the agents an edge in that their test fixture has rounded corners to that a 22 inch suitcase that has hard square edges at the bottom (or wheels that make it square) won't fit in it. So the agent just points that it doesn't fit and you have to check. I was not happy from Paris to London."

I pointed out that my ticket included 2 bags to begin with and I only used one she said it doesn't matter because its to big for the plane I have to pay. I'm beyond furious now as I'm dropping stuff out of my hands trying to manage everything. I'd like to point out this is just a small gym bag and its a lot smaller than my carry on suite case which I'm frustrated. I'm pretty much pissed off the whole flight to only be more at the end. When the plane lands and I'm getting off I notice every single person has a carry on suite case all of which are much larger than my gym bag. My freaking gym bag fits in the tiny locker at the gym. I HATE BRITISH AIRLINES they only succeed at swindling money from you."

Thankfully we landed 30 min early, but we only made our connection with a few minutes the spare. We ran through the airport, and had to ask many people if we could go ahead of them at the security. My seat appeared to have more space than the flight previous to it, so that added a lot more comfort without the extra expense of having to pay for the "more space" seating- I often feel like airlines nickel and dime you to death these days. Perhaps it was just the luck of the draw, but the seats had much more legroom than my first flight to Paris as opposed to the return to NY. The flight crew were all courteous and pleasant. Leather seating with readily available pillows and blankets for all was a nice touch as well."

Cons: "There was just an announcement that the refreshments will be served shortly but there were no refreshments. Take off and landing was horrible. Flight was shaking way more than usual."

Cons: "My seat did not work properly- there was a short in the mechanism, I believe- that required repeated attempts to get it to recline completely, which was ultimately unsuccessful. I was clearly having difficulty with the seat but didn't receive any assistance while FA chatted up a celebrity in the seat in front of me. Flight attendants seemed to provide very perfunctory service, not commensurate with first class. Very disappointing experience compared to others in the past. I don't need to spend half a zillion FF miles when I could just buy a coach seat."
Pros: "NOTHING"
Cons: "This had to have been among the worst flights I have ever experienced in 50+ years of flying to 86 countries. First, an e-mail before I left my Paris apt that it would be 1 hr late departing. THEN the announcement ON BOARD that the flight would make a REFUELING stop in Bangor Maine (the eqpt was a 20 yr old 757 meant for a medium-range domestic route instead of Paris-NY). So it was FOUR HOURS LATE arriving, including an extra hour on the ground in Bangor because they'd lost their landing slot (tho they lied about "bad weather" at JFK) ... a succession of lies and incompetence. Headphone jack didn't even work at the seat ... the movie was a US film dubbed into French anyway! Gawd what incompetence. A letter Fedexed to Doug Parker, AA's CEO, was not even acknowledged.... and I do 35,000 air miles a year on AA. THE WORST."
Cons: "The staff was rude not helpful and mean worst crew I've ever seen and I fly alot"
Pros: "This was the same crew and pilot from the flight I took to LAX. His landing was so smooth, I woke up pleasantly upon landing!"
Pros: "Why would a jet this size wobble all the way across the Atlantic! The pretzels were even stale, and they served a "pizza" that was a stale mini loaf with sauce and a little mozzarella. People were starving when breakfast was served. The thermostat fluctuated from horribly hot to freeing - for 14 hrs. The crew slammed things down on table trays, grumped, were giving harsh orders to patrons rather than gently directing them. These ladies do not enjoy their job. I am done with Delta. We were also an hour late taking off due to a door on a cargo hold not closing. I was embarrassed that our Aussie friends experienced this as their first American flight."
Cons: "Food, attitude of flight attendants, comfort of cabin. Pilot took charge of thermostat issue and kept us informed in a friendly manner regarding the status of our take off and flight progress."

Cons: "I nearly missed my flight because I did not have a seat for a flight that I bought a ticket for at full price. Which, would lead one to believe that I would have a seat on said flight. However, coming to the gate an hour before boarding the personnel working gate the said he was having computer difficulties and could not get me a seat and it would be 10 min. I continued to return till boarding to find out I had no seat and I was on standby. Upon going to customer service they replied the airline oversold tickets and every airline does this as if to make this practice ok. Well being in sales myself and if I were to sell x amount of product to one customer ( or several) I better make sure I have it all there to deliver. People rely on you schedule wise. It nearly shot a meeting I had to make in the foot. Very disappointed with the airline and the way things were handled."
Pros: "The service from flight attendants very goood. Even the chicken dinner was as good as many restaurants serve with tastey sauce and cooked just right with nice tossed salad and even apple pie desert. We got served free beverage 3 times on 9 hour flight from Paris to Dallas. The entertainment options were amazing: So many new movies or video games or e-reader were added plus with individual screen in front of each seat! They will be my first choice. New seats also had extra padding and were more comfortable! Wow1"
Cons: "A little more leg room would be nice."
Pros: "Cabin crew were quite good. Food was fine for airplane fare with excellent ice cream mid-flight. Airplane was spotless. Entertainment was very good. Plenty of carry-on storage on this 787-9. Customs and airport (DFW) experience was very good. Baggage claim and return for connection were prompt and rapid."
Cons: "Seats were tight in basic coach. As typical at CDG airport (other than the government subsidized Air France facilities), check-in and security is a nightmare. Clearly the worst airport in the world."
Cons: "When I booked the flight, I hadn't realized that British Airlways had contracted the flight out to be operated by American Airlines. The flight was delayed in Paris and I ended up missing my connecting flight through JFK to DC. Though we were told on the plane that we would be given assistance upon landing and helped in an expedited manner through customs, instead I was briefly informed I had missed my connecting flight, handed an envelope, and told I needed to now travel to Laguardia Airport. No other information or assistance was provided. I was not given a reason why I needed to travel an hour in NYC traffic to switch airports nor was I given any help through customs. The shuttle I was told to take was unable to take me to the correct terminal, so I needed to get on a secondary shuttle. Again, after a 7 hour international flight, little assistance or aid was provided. I was barely able to make it through security in time to catch the new flight. Additionally, the actual flight from Paris to JFK lacked basic in-flight entertainment that almost any international flight would have. I will not be traveling on American Airlines again, and I am hopeful that Kayak and BA will be more clear in the future."
Cons: "it was not clear that finnair was being operated by american airlines. when I arrived to the airport in Paris, they couldn't locate my flight on finairr or american. my flight was missed and the staff on both airlines (finnair and partner american airline) were soo unhelpful. I have never missed a flight, I travel for work, in the air, more than on the ground and this was the WORST experience I have ever had. I was super disappointed that even after all the mistakes, no one would help me find a new flight and I had to pay for another one. Even after calling finnair several times and pleading for some answers or help."
Pros: "I suppose the food / wine was okay."
Cons: "The plane was one of the oldest I have been on in years. The center aisle overhead bins were not even big enough for luggage and there was one TV every 5 or so rows. We were at the mercy of the crappy movies American Airlines chose for us. Most flights these days have individual entertainment and at a minimum room for luggage. The plane was old, dirty and not up to date. Never flying American again. Extremely disappointed with the service on the flight, as well. A little more than halfway through the flight, the woman in the row next to me began reading the airline magazine. Her window shade was up and the sunlight caused a horrible glare on the magazine pages that beamed like a laser over everyone near by. My friend seated next to me and I both have extreme sensitivity to light that causes migraines. I asked the woman to close her shade which at first she did about an inch or two. This didn't do anything to help the glare so I asked again and she refused to do anything more. I explained it was giving us migraines and she didn't seem to care. I asked the flight attendant to help navigate the situation, which was just as useless. She said she could ask but not force her to close her window shade. While I understand that AA can't control that some people can be selfish, I find it incredibly hard to believe that the crew can't intervene when a passengers actions are making other people physically ill. Our only other option was to be relegated to the last row, next to the crews stinking pile of garbage that had been accumulating for the first five hours of the trip. Almost every crew member we interacted with was completely apathetic to the situation. We spent the rest of flight nauseous and with splitting headaches. But I sure hope my row mate and fellow human being in 32A enjoyed the article about the dinosaur flea market in Bolivia This entire situation could have been mediated by the flight attendants who chose to disengage. Furthermore, when we were deceding to land, overhead bins were still open, and people were starting to stand up to gather their belongings in the overhead bins. Again, the apathetic flight attendants were no where to be found. Overall, disappointing experience. Glad to never have to fly them again."

Cons: "The Crew were incredibly rude, and the pilot was unapologetic for being late coming back. They offered little to no comfort. They replied rudely to people when they asked them to repeat themselves because they couldn't hear. They were not very helpful and seemed annoyed and irritable. The plane was uncomfortable and the screens in front of me were useless because they were so low quality. The air craft has an option for fax but has no USB charger or port for a 10 hour flight. The aircraft I was on was not fit for that long of a distance."
Pros: "the airlines did try to accommodate by giving us optional flight when our connecting flight got cancelled"
Cons: "No meal options for vegetarians for breakfast. They just gave everyone a turkey sandwich. Rude, frustated and sarcastic staff"
Pros: "The crew were excellent and very professional. It was not a full flight and boarding was quick and easy. We landed almost an hour early. When we made the reservation we were told it was an 8 hour and 50 minute flight but we got there in 7 hours and 45 minutes, more than 1 hour early. It would be good to know the real timing so that meetings could be planned in a timely way."
Cons: "This is a code share with American Airlines and an American Airlines plane and crew and it is an out of date plane. There were no individual screens only 1 screen hanging down every five or six seats. The seats are very, very narrow. The cleanliness of the tray tables were gooey and full of crusted dirt as were the seat areas in front of the tray tables. I was told that they fly an even older plane from Europe to NY, which is an old one aisle plane. Not sure why AA continues to use such out of date planes but if they use planes from the 1980's it seems to me that they should charge 1980 prices!"
Pros: "Not a full flight able to stretch out and crew friendly"
Cons: "The plane was dirty, crumbs and stains on seats. Unfortunately no individual entertainment screens with limited offerings overhead makes for a long transatlantic flight but would fly again for the price."
