Heard other travelers discussing that they had been rebooked onto an alternate airline and then found a later flight on Kayak, walked up to podium and asked to be rebooked on that specific flight, which they grudgingly did. Of note, I was repeatedly reassured that they were "sure" I would make my connection without a problem and to stop worrying so much. My flight left out of Madison 2 minutes after my connection departed Chicago. I usually fly a different airline, whose flights out of Madison were all on time that day, and will do so in the future despite more expensive ticket. The actual crew on the flight was lovely and apologetic, did everything they could to help us despite the delays. At least that's something."

I have to leave an extra 45 minutes to accommodate flying United every time -- ridiculous. This time I also got a load of unprofessional gate agents cooing and awwing at my my support animal, and trying to pet him. When this happens I always simply state, "please don't" and this was key with rudeness as well. United please provide us with more professional and adequately trained staff at the airports. Once we're on the planes it's fine. But you seem to have VERY low hiring standards for airport staff"

I was impressed that the airline sent an email suggesting a change of itinerary due to weather in Chicago, and waived change fees to facilitate this. I got home without cancelled or delayed flights."

I received no notice to check in for my departing flight, and had to dig through several messages and 2 websites to find the appropriate confirmation number. It should be clearer who you are actually purchasing from, and there should be better fail-safes in place to prevent loss of information"

Was he a prison guard in his previous job? On the way to Newark, I had an aisle seat. One of the stewardesses blazed by me with a cart ramming it into my shoulder without so much as a, "sorry." I'm not a big woman but maybe as I dozed off I leaned over a bit...There is no way she didn't feel her cart hit me. Rudeness, it seems is a part of the culture at United because the flight attendants coming back squeezed past the long line for the bathroom without saying, "excuse me." They did however, say, "I need to get by," and one of them brushed by the gentlemen sitting next to me and bumped his laptop and coffee. Overall it seems that the crew working these particular United flights have forgotten that we pay hard earned money to fly. Some of us are going on vacation, to see loved ones, and some are flying to deal with unpleasant circumstances. The staff may fly several times a day, but most passengers do not. There's a lot of prep and anxiety, that goes into taking a flight and a surly flight crew multiplies that anxiety. No one wants to fly with a crew that hates their job."

I was uconfortable sitting between two men. I traveled alone. When we landed in Chicago, took forever to get to the gate so we can get off the plane. There was no entertainment, at least for me. My phone was way low in battery and ai couldn't watch anything."

The lack of empathy and just the overall experience was beyond horrible, and if it wasn't for the desperate situation I was in I would have never used your services."

There were staff behind the desk that were standing around on their phones and meanwhile there were lines longer than I have ever seen just waiting to be helped. The fact that check in etc was all in one place at the MSY is baffling. I paid ahead of time to check my bags but still had to wait in line behind people who had not even checked in for flights that appeared to be stopping in at least two destinations. Once we finally got to the counter, the staff member informed us that they were re-routing our trip. No apology was offered. When I conferred with my travel companion about the best option to re-route, the employee said "Sir I am speaking to you. Not that man." I tried to explain that this man was my travel companion who I needed to travel with because we were in-fact going to the same destination and had planned additional transportation together and that I needed to know if there was room for two people on this flight so that we could proceed onto our route together. After being interrogated about why my companion was not on my reservation, the employee told us that 12 people would not make the flight we were supposed to be on. She then took our bags (we have now been in line to check bags for almost 1.5 hours). Fast-forward to the return flight. We are supposed to depart at 7:15, but were delayed to 8pm, then 8:30, then back to 8pm, then to 8:25, then 8:40, then 9pm between the times of 11am and 8pm. Our trip to the airport that included two trains was significantly more stressful as these projected times were changed because we went from being on time to late to on time all within the span of an hour. The employees on the return flight were helpful in making up for the numerous delays but the confusion that seemed to hover over the company made me feel like nobody cared about whether we reached our destination."

I understand that there was inclimate weather, however, it is the duty of an airline to notify travelers of their flights status. When approaching the front desk about the flight, a desk person had the nerve to ask me if I realized that it snowed. He is quite lucky that I didn't file a complaint. I have no words to describe my disgust for his poorly timed sarcasm, especially because this flight was en route to a family emergency."

I don't know if the seats on the return trip had more padding, but there seemed to be a noticeable difference between the two flights, not just by myself, but noticeable in the lack of squirming on the second flight by everyone else as well."

I paid extra for a specific seat, and when another passenger took it, a flight attendant gave me a hard time when I asked them to move. I was unaware that I'd have to pay $40 just for a carry on until AFTER I booked the flight, in which case I would've just chosen a better airline."

I cannot rate food or entertainment because frontier is too cheap to even hand out tiny bags of mixed nuts. You certainly pay for what you get. Then we all waited 45 minutes for our bags to be unloaded at baggage claim. That is an unacceptable amount of time! Only for me to realize my bag was lost and somewhere in Mississippi. I've been traveling as a frequent flyer member on united and American for five years and I was considering joining frontier'/ program but after this experience I need to reevaluate."

These results should be marked differently so it's not so difficult to figure out which tickets are actually less expensive. Only water on the flight (unless you want to buy a can of soda for $5), only one chance to get water, food is also only for purchase. No entertainment options. An oil slick of grease and grime over my window. Very, very unimpressed."

The return flight included a technical problem where they had everyone get off the plane and board another one after more delays. I will never fly Frontier ever again, even if flights cost $1."

I nearly missed my flight. I paid $60+ each way for my bag and seat which i found to be ridiculously over priced! Seats were awful, and were only accommodated with water as a beverage option."

Beverages, including water, and food were also not included in the cost, and were relatively expensive. I used the app to check in 24 hours before my flight. I arrived at the airport and wanted to double check that I was checked in for my flight because I felt uneasy about it. The women at the check in said the mobile app does not count as a boarding pass and etc. So I needed to wait to be checked in. While getting in line to board the plane, a couple infront of me had their boarding passes on their phones and had no problem boarding with the app. I think there was a little miscommunication with the app and workers."

I could understand if I wanted stretch seating, but for non-stretch seating I had to still pay. Not to mention on the way back to Philly we were delayed for over 2 1/2 hours on the runway. They said initially it was due to computer glitches. Then they told us we needed to go back to a gate to pick up two pilots who missed this flight. That took over and hour for a available gate to open up. Then when the pilots finally boarded we had to now refuel the plane. Apparently, the fuel guy went home for the night, so they needed to find someone else to refuel the plane. It was just one joke after another. We were suppose to land in Phily at 11pm est. Instead we landed at almost 1:30am. A lot of us had to work the next morning or had people picking us up from the airport. I live in Delaware and I didn't get home until after 2:30am. They sent us a $25 voucher towards our next flight with them. Only $25? That will only cover the price of your checked bag one way. Also, on the way to Chicago one of the flight attendants, I believe his name was Reynoldo, was very disrespectful. He spent most of the flight talking to this one family. He ended up telling the one son about how he should never get tattoos because he will never go anywhere in life, and people who get them are stupid and just want to ruin their lives by getting tattoos. Now, I fully understand getting tattoos is a choice, but both my husband and I have respectable jobs. We both have tattoos and that has never gotten in the way of us getting a job. I did not appreciate listening to this for a good period of time. He didn't seemed to care who might be on the flight around him and offended by him. So, all and all I don't know how likely I'll ever fly Frontier again."

When I arrived at the check in counter to see if another flight was available, the only other option would have gotten me there after 2 stopovers. I was headed to a wedding and had to make the rehearsal dinner. The woman at the Kayak counter suggested that I try to get a new flight with a different airline. I did, and transferred airports. The next day, I received a note that my entire itinerary was cancelled because i had missed one leg of my trip. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with the help desk (who were very nice, but wouldn't budge) i was unable to get anywhere. Then, I had to buy another one way flight home to make it to work the next day. I will never fly Spirit again."

Cons: "I arrived at 5:40 stood in line not knowing more check in machines one the other side of where the customers stood. (Had the agent focus on us instead of being on the phone). Had check in on the drive there got there and was told I need two check in prior to 40 min of my flight. I said mam it's 5 min after if You try help me I'll make it. She sent me to another line, then they sent me to another line so he could say no refunds I should have read the fine print..... KICKER TO ALL THIS I MISS MY AUNTS FUNERAL AND THAT FLIGHT WAS DELAYED ONE HOUR... if they had pretended to do some customer service I'd have made my flight and her funeral."

Cons: "Spirit has lower costs, but at a price. To check a bag is another $50, and $55 to carry it on, and while you can get discounts on this if you sign up to be an awards member with Spirit and manage it PRIOR to your flight, this was not explained anywhere in my original booking. Food and beverages are SO overpriced - it's clearly a major profit center for Spirit. The plane was not comfortable. Very tightly crowded, seats do not recline, no back pockets for storage, no entertainment or WiFi - bare bones comfort. At the Las Vegas airport, we waited in line to check our bags at the Spirit counter (the only option for bag checking) after signing in at the Kiosk for over 40 minutes, and at 45 minutes until our flight was about to take off, finally took our boarding passes so we could go through Security. If Security had been busy, we would have missed our flight. This was NOT handled well as they kept calling other flights to "jump" the line. Basically, Spirit touts a lower-cost airline for a small downgrade in comfort. In reality, it is a very SLIGHTLY lower-cost airline with a major downgrade in convenience and comfort. I will not be selecting Spirit again."
Pros: "Jan 2 flight was cancelled due to crew issues. Spirit refunded me and said I would have to find another flight with another carrier. They could not get me to Chicago till Jan 5 which was unacceptable. As soon as I use my mileage points I am done with spirit. They don't leave on time and this has been going on for years"
Cons: "The seats were much more confined than flight to phoenix, I asked if I could occupy empty seats behind me, I was told no by flight attendant, medical purposes, yet one of them occupied during flight. I was very uncomfortable and in physical pain afterwatd, I will pay more $$ next time for extra room in other airline. I was also charged twice for reserving carry on luggage. Paying extra to eliminate these factors will be worth it too me."

Cons: "Primitive boarding procedure nearly caused us to miss the flight. Kiosks won't print your boarding pass within 45 minutes of your flight time, even if you are checked into your flight. And Spirit does not permit you to use a boarding pass on your phone, you must waste natural resources & print. Unfortunately, we had a problem while returning our rental car, so we were later to the kiosk than planned. So, we had to wait in line to ask an employee at the counter to print out boarding passes. Thanks to the kind passengers of LAX airport letting us jump in line several times, we made our flight just as doors closed."
Cons: "We were delayed over an hour, with no support at the gate to explain why or let us know when we would be leaving. Incredibly frustrating, as I booked this flight (instead of another airline) for the departure time. Would have rather used another airline.."
Cons: "Staff was scolding people for minor errors on their part, which was unnecessary. Overall the flight was unpleasant because the staff kept waking people up around me, which in turn woke me up several times."
Cons: "First of all Kayak and everyone else oversold the flight. So even though I bought the ticket last week and showed up over an hour early when I got on the flight there were no seats, the seat they said they gave to me 19A was filled with another passenger with a ticket saying 19A so they also did not know what they were doing. The crew told me to sit anywhere, but three of us ended up having to get off the plane. I ended up being stuck in Los Angeles and missing a million $ meeting. No appology, no credit for future flights was made or even attempted by the crew. I'm considering a lawsuit to be honest unless some very quick and good service is provided. The crew was rude and stressed and all about leaving on time. HORRIBLE."
Cons: "We thought we found a great price for a quit trip to visit our new niece. We were totally wrong. Spirit charged us more than then the industry norm for a checked bag. I had tried to check it in early online but their mobile functionality doesn't handle payments. So that was $50. When we arrived they were highly disorganized and it wasn't clear what line to get into. Let's just assume that's just part of an airport experience. We get to the gate, and see that the flight has been delayed an hour. We decide to hang out there and learn over the intercom that the flight was delayed 2 more hours. Did they update the screen? Nope. Less than 20 minutes later they were boarding. It gets better though! After partly boarding the flight, they made everyone get out. We were grounded for a long time before and after landing without adequate information from the pilot on why or for how long. Finally when it got to the point I was going to pass out they wouldn't give me water because "I had the entire flight to make a purchase." Never again!! Never!!!"

Cons: "I could not check in using my phone. Had to log onto a computer to sign in online. Was not given my flight info, had to call for it because the online log in said "no itineraries found" when I did have a flight so I had to call and be on hold for 20 minutes before someone would email me my itinerary. Seats do not go back. Flight pricing, I felt tricked and like I was scammed. Nothing is included. Everything is so expensive."

Cons: "Spirit is hands down the worst airline I have ever flown on. We thought we had found a steal of a flight for $180 from Philadelphia to Ft. Lauderdale until we found out that they literally charge you extra for every single other thing. Just to pick our 2 seats round trip cost us another $56. Checking bags both ways was another $168. Then while checking in, we were charged $30 for an "overweight" bag. Every single other airline has a 50 pound limit, but once again spirit found a way to be cheap and sub-par with a 40 pound limit. Luckily we managed to avoid their $100 carry on fee for if your bag doesn't meat they're incredibly small limit. Oh and their app, which every single other airline allows you to download for free, is $5. Once aboard the plane, the seats are made of hard plastic with barely any cushioning and the seat back tray won't even hold anything larger than a beverage. There is also no on-flight entertainment offered. This has been a learning experience to say the least. Suffice to say, I will never fly with Spirit Airlines again. They are incredibly cheap and try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. 2 thumbs WAY down."

I really enjoy kayak for the financial liberty it allows me and this Spirit airlines ripped it away from me. Not to mention none of these fees are mentioned before I purchased the flight! For god sakes buying a ticket doesn't even guarantee you a seat! I absolutely understand that every airline has extra fees, but Spirit was an insane outlier. I was charged for a Carry-on. A CARRY ON! Cons: "The flight to Chicago was delayed 1 hour. I had an horrible experience with the return flight, they first delayed it 2 hours, then 3 hours, then 4 hours... I spent 5 hours in the airport before I gave up on them and cancelled my flight back. I had to buy a ticket from another company.... Also the ticket price is misleading because they charge you for carry-on luggage (like 50 USD). During the flight they even charge you for water, which is free in other airlines :-("

Cons: "I would never fly this airline again. I like to think I'm a pretty reasonable person when it comes to customer service, last minute changes, and things like that. Checking in was no problem. Our flight had already been delayed so I was prepared for a longer wait. As I sat there, the flight got delayed two additional times. Ok, no big deal, but when customers were asking why the attendants could not tell us. When asked a general time we would be boarding, people were told "when the captain gives us the OK." Finally, we boarded almost 4 hours later when the delay stated only 2 hours. The plane was OK, but the attendants were far from pleasant. I was OK with no Tvs, baggage prices, and all of that because I was aware beforehand, but the way the staff acted was completely disgusting. After finally getting Chicago, I waited almost 45 minutes for my bags. When I called my car to tell them the delay they replied that Spirit had been backed up all day. Why? No one really knew. On the way back from Chicago to Boston, the flight was set to board at 1:09 pm. The airport was extremely busy, so I did not get through security until about 1:40. I ran to the gate only to see that they hadn't boarded yet. No updated on their website of the delay and nothing sent to my email. We didn't actually board until about 2pm, and then had to wait an additional 30 minutes on the plane because one of the attendants was late getting on. So now, it is about 2:45 and we are finally taking off-originally scheduled at 1:54 with NO updates sent to the customers on the delay. No one explained the delay and no one could give a time when we would take off. A few people tried to call the airline to explain their concerns and were abruptly hung up on. The least Spirit could have done is listened to their concerns and gave an apology. I will never, EVER fly this airline, and I suggest you don't either."
Cons: "The seats were too cramped together. They over priced the carry on luggage. The return trip from Houston to Philadelphia, I was in the airport from 5am until 11pm in the airport. In Houston, we spent 1.5 hours on the hot airplane with no AC then they deplaned and put us back on another plane for 1 hour and then those trying to get to Philadelphia were asked to deplane again. When about 10 of us got off this flight, they told us unfortunately there were only three seats available to Atlanta and then Philadelphia. I had to beg for one of the seats because I would have been fired from my job and I had patients already scheduled to see the following day. In Atlanta, I had to spend more money to eat dinner and wait from 4pm until 8:45pm when we finally boarded the air craft because it was constantly delayed every hour. Lastly, when I got to Philadelphia at 10:30pm I spent another 30 minutes filling paper work out because they lost my luggage and the other passage that flew with me as well. Spirits never even offered a food voucher or explained to us why everything was delayed or even apologized. It was a terrible experience."

Cons: "seats are too cramped. Passenger behind me kept kicking my seat the entire time (and she was a grown woman). People leaving the fight need to be told to be orderly. I had to calm down a verbal confrontation between two men because one guy try to rush from off from the back of the plane and bumped into another man. Crew did nothing, if I wouldn't have stopped the confrontation it may have gotten ugly."
Cons: "Could have done without the sales pitch for your credit card. Had a layover so had to listen to it twice. Also, the price for the bags were over the top especially since the weight limit was 40 pounds."
Cons: "CARRY-ONS cost money. They cost more money if you don't buy them ahead of time. It costs extra to CHECK IN WITH AN AGENT. The airline is not upfront about any of this. These charges supposedly keep the cost of the ticket low: You only pay for exactly what you want (ie: if you don't have carry-ons, you can get away with paying less.). This is bullshit. They charge for WATER— tap water— on the plane. It is purely a money making scheme. They don't have repeat customers because they are awful. Oh and the seats are tinier than any flight I've ever been on. Truly the worst flying experience of my life."

The two options Spirit gives you is to put you on the next flight tomorrow at 6AM or refund your money. I was lucky to purchase a flight on an airline with a real schedule for later that morning. That flight was practically empty. It is a shame that Spirit doesn't have the customer service to accommodate it's passengers on to other flights. Low cost fares are appealing but more of a hassle than they are worth when the airline has little to no contingency plans. An I'm sorry and a $15 voucher can't get you back 24 hours of time or the money folks who choose low cost carriers have to waste on getting back and forth to the airport or spend on hotels in the area."

When I went to the office in ORD, they told me to put in a claim and then ignored me, not helping me to put in a claim, continuing on their conversation about what they're doing when they get out of work. Cons: "Plane landed late, taxied for later, and bags took over 2 hours to come out on baggage claim. some delays can be expected, but 3+ hour of delays without poor weather or any other noted special scenarios is absurd. No notices or apologies given."
Pros: "Excellent experience. It's always a good experience when the plane lands but to take a good thing to the level of excellence is not easy. Kayak and Spirit airlines are top-flight companies."

Pros: "I was stuck in security for an inordinate amount of time and was two minutes late after the gate closure. I was refused and sent back to the ticket counter to rebook a flight that would cost twice the amount of the original ticket and arrive a day later. Spirit is the worst. Got a new flight on American Airlines for much less booked that moment and have gotten so much better customer service ever since. Yes, spirit is cheap but they are terrible with customer service. Never flying again with them."
