Instead of early boarding I was about the last person to get on board. There was not enough room in the overhead for my cary on. The depart room at the airport was over crowded and for that reason extremely dangerous in case of fire ore some other disaster. People for different flights where in the same room and did not understand this which gave problems at the boarding pass counter control. There is lots of room for improvement. There was mumbling among the passengers, to the point of someone joking "Free cookies and water if we make it on time?" Just a bad gate experience, but bad enough that peopoe were commenting, and I waited for someone from the cockpit to del\part so I could mention it to them."

He alerted the driver, called the boarding gate and led me to it."

We left the gat late, then pilot said we would still be arriving half an hour early. We arrived about 45 minutes late, and that was a problem because our connecting flight was due to depart now in 15 minutes. Lightning forced the airport to shutdown, which was great, we had a chance to catch our flight, but we were stuck in the airplane, and we couldn't get to our gate until the all-clear. I know this is not Delta's fault, but they did arrive quite late on a flight that, according to them, would be early. They also never communicated to the other flight that there were several passengers catching that connection. So by the time we had ran to catch our connection they had closed the ramp. Lightning hit again, and they shutdown the airport once again, so the airplane was still at the gate for about an hour, and they did not allow the 20+ passengers to board that plane, which was right there. So frustrating. The only thing that saved it was that our new flight was the new airbus, and although it left an hour and a half later, the comfort level was phenomenal."

They did find it next day and delivered to the FLL airport, but we had to get a cab and go to the airport to pick-up as we could not take a chance of it not making it to us before the cruise departure. She asked me for the Trip ID # and I found it right away. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I LOST 700 DOLLARS. I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER PLAIN TICKET!!!!!"

Annoying but not the end of the world. A few minutes go by and an airport staff (not even a Spirit staff) comes over and says an announcement is being made and we need to go to the ticket counter. Get to the ticket counter and find out our flight is cancelled and there won't be another Spirit flight out of Haiti for two days!!! No effort was made to get us on a different airline, to refund our money instantly, to offer comps, not even to be empathetic. We all had to rush to other airlines and buy different flights home which cost an exorbitant amount. But the only other option was to stay stranded and homeless in Haiti. When I called Spirit later on that day, during a long layover, they gave me a hard time about refunding my money. It's been a week later and I still have not received all my money back. Never ever ever again will I fly Spirit."
