Cons: "The flight and the entire process with American was just fine. What bothered me most was the rude treatment from security staff in Philadelphia. Compared to security staff overseas, the U.S. rates the lowest of the 55+ countries I've visited. It does not reflect badly on American Airlines, but it does give travelers a bad lasting impression. As an American, I'm embarrassed by their behavior."

Cons: "AA has nine boarding groups, which queue up in two lanes. Each of the two lanes hold about 5 people, at most. This is ridiculous. It creates enormous crowds of people jockeying to be near the tiny lanes for when their number is called 5 or 10 minutes down the line. AA needs to reduce the number of boarding groups, lengthen the lanes, and provide more of them. No other airline boards this way. That's because this boarding method is stupid. Unsurprisingly, our plane took off late because they couldn't get everyone boarded in time."

The flight I managed to get on departed two hours late. There was no explanation for each of these cancellations/delays. There was virtually zero inclement weather anywhere, save for most of the country’s temperature being nearly equivalent to the surface of Neptune. And, the surly, clueless Chicago-based gate agent was the coupe de grace in my search for a reasonable explanation after which I waited impatiently for this episode to conclude. American get your act together."

Cons: "the airplane was absolutely freezing. It was so cold, you could actually see the air blowing (like in winter). There's no need for that. Somehow European airlines manage not to freeze out all their passengers. It was less than a two hour flight but felt like an eternity because it was so uncomfortable. Seat size - this is absolutely the smallest it can/should go. I am pretty skinny, but even I'm running out of room and the seat backs could be made a bit more comfortable. Not only is there almost no recline, but the way they are constructed - they actually push my head forward - not made for short people."

I was sitting in First Class and went to check with a friend that was way back in Economy, same thing. So i told the that to the crewmember who just told me, sorry nothing I can do about. Which I can understand. What I don't understand is why they continued displaying a mute TV set for three hours. Why not just shut it off? BTW, my daughter flew from LA to Boston that same day and exactly the same thing happened on her plane."

Cons: "Had 2 plane tickets to Puerto Rico for my mom funeral But all the sudden my dad passed away one week before the date Iso a have to change the date They did charge me $200 and the other ticket was for my friend was my support he couldn't go cause he's job So I call and they said yes that they gonna help me with the refund all I need is a dead certificate so I send it the papers by email Now they telling me that they can't gave me the refund All my brothers and sisters didn't have no problem with South west air line and other airlines they understood the problem And they did everything without problems Worst service ever Not flying with them ever again"

Cons: "I traveled with this carry on for numerous flights and for the last three legs of this trip w/of having to check it. For some reason they made me check it. because I had to spend time at the baggage claim carousels I almost missed the last train of the night back home. Fortunately all is fine, but it caused unnecessary stress."

Cons: "Seeing as this flight was cancelled and we had to wait as two elderly people until 3pm the next day to get another flight and American Airlines would not compensate in anyway. I would say that we will never fly American Airlines again nor will my family. This was not the only delay or cancellation because of American either. We spent 48 hours traveling because of delays and cancellations and still American would do nothing for us. I'm 66 and my husband is 72 (who also has had back surgery for five slipped discs) and we had to sleep on concrete floors and had very limited money to buy food. It was by far the worst experience of my life and I would encourage everyone to not travel with them."

There were no attendant at the designated gates to help me in Puerto Rico and calling directly was a nightmare. Never made it to Miami or to lax. Instead I was put on an even longer flight, San Juan to Philadelphia."

Cons: "It took a very long time and multiple stops to get to my destination which should not have taken so long. Also it was extremely expensive for such a difficult itenerary to go from SJU to PVD."

Pros: "Took the red eye from San Francisco to Nashville at the end of a long trip to Cali for a family reunion. I've never flown United before and it was okay. I wasn't able to sleep as I'd hoped as I had a hard time getting comfortable due to the size of my row mate beside me and I was in the middle."

No call or email before hand, the had to wait until 2am to change the flight and get a hotel voucher. After that, next day they board the plane and de-board the plane due to mechanical problems. Another night and just a couple of 10 vouchers. She never received an explanation or recompense for loosing part of her trip in the san juan airport. This is the second time ahe has gone thru this in the same year with United. Awful experinece."

They changed our seats, even though we picked them when buying them for a reason and my boyfriend and I ended up sitting in different lanes. Horrible experience. Landing and take off of the plane felt horrible. They double charged for one service dog. Even though I provided the Dr's note and her service dog tag."

Then I receive an email there will be a 7 hour delay and there were no other flights available for my original time slot. United this is the second time you have "delayed" or changed my seat after calling and selecting it and inconvenienced me. I will look for other providers from now on!"

Cons: "The Gate agent was rude and fresh. At least 10 passengers told me they did not hear the boarding announcements until the final boarding was called. When I said to my friend as she was running toward the gate that we didn't hear the announcements. The gate agent told me I was the only one because all the other passengers did. I told him that wasn't true. He would not look at me and repeated to go down the jet way or I would miss the flight. Meanwhile more passengers were running for the gate. The message board message displayed "preboarding". I was sitting in the gate area for 40 minutes."

Cons: "We had confirmed reservations to go visit my daughter and son in law in Nashville. We had purchased tickets to see a concert in Nashville. We missed the concert and a full day of planned activities. We were bumped off the flight although we had confirmed reservations. So we decided to drive and incurred hotel charges. We will be driving back home and will incur hotel charges on the way home. We had to pay for gas and wear and tear on our car. This has been an awful experience."

After boarding my early morning flight from San Juan to Houston, all passangers were seated we were at a stand still for 2hrs before being instructed to depart the plane. We were sent back to the service desk for rerouting. This line was also an hour and 1/2 long . Fortunately I was able to transfer to another airline, but this overral experience with United was horrible."

Very unprofessional most of the staff. I'm a ARMY VETERAN 90% disabled and my wife ssg Ayala active duty the flights that we took on our deployments were smoother than the united airlines flights"

Upon realizing that employees of that gate had left, and we're not coming back, I had to ask passing personnel about my flight to find that it left already and that I had already been rebooked without being notified. I now had to fly from Houston to Chicago to Nashville. There are no flight specifications for travelers during the flight in Spanish. Nobody cared to explain me what happened, nobody came to me with an apologize, and a flight assistant on my way back made also fun of me for being the last one. Will avoid Frontier at all costs in the future. Seats are thin, hard and so close together. No room between seats. Seats do not recline unless you are in emergency exit room. If you want to select your seat during check-in, they charge you extra. Even for a seat in the last row on the plane was an extra $5 just to select it. Seats closer to the front were an extra $25, but these are not better seats or offer more room, just the ability to get off the plane faster after landing. Carry on baggage cost extra and checked bags are $40. After paying for baggage, seats, a water on a round trip, the low cost turned out to be more expensive than another carrier with seats that are more comfortable and gave you more room between seats, entertainment and a free soft drink or water."

I will never fly frontier again even though it is the only airline that flies direct to Denver. I would rather sit 12 hours on a Southwest flight than ever have to talk to Frontier employee again."

However, I have NEVER experienced a crew member take this out on the passengers. She was snippy and rude to EVERYONE, in person and over the PA. She refused my husband a cup of water because he was trying to reuse a cup (he got water for me so I could take medicine when we reached altitude). She told him he would have to wait until everyone had water first before he could have seconds and refused to hear his explanation. The crew in general seemed to think it was ok to prod us on like cattle to make up for lost time. I overheard another passenger call her Cruella Deville. On the return flight (on time and pleasant crew) the crew informed us they were the cleaners at the end of the flight and asked several times for help in this endeavor."

Pros: "This is supposed to be a lower cost airline but by the time you add in the luggage fee (you pay extra for both a carry on and checked bag) it amounts to the same cost as other higher priced flights. There is no entertainment or snacks included, although sometimes these can be purchased on board. The flight itself was good, on time departure, even arriving slightly early. But we sat on the tarmac waiting for a gate for quite a long time (low cost, low priority) by the time we got off, connections were missed or very tight."

The flight attendants paid little attention to the customers...stayed all up front eating, talking to each other, or on their electronic devices. The seats are very cramped, uncomfortable, and had no pocket or way to recline (unless you paid extra). There was no complimentary snack/beverage options...not even water...and this was for a 3 hour flight. The overall staff was not friendly or inclined to be helpful."

Cons: "Although weather conditions were not Spirit's doing, on the return flight we had to wait in the tarmac for 3 hours to unload and 2 hours to retrieve baggage, we had a very rude crew member that eventually had a passenger return his rudeness with the same. After 2 hours of waiting was when Spirit decided to offer us 3 oz of water and a tiny package of cookie. Thank God for no medical emergency, but they didn't come out and offer actual bottles of water and/or a real snack. Terrible consideration toward the passengers."

However, I've never flown Spirit before and Kayak NEVER provided any information regarding fact that the fare was "bare fare" & that we'd have to pay from everything from seats to carry-on AND check-in luggage!!! WTH! By the time we covered all necessities, we could've flown with a larger airline like JetBlue, Delta or United! We all felt taken advantage of and like cattle packed into an "air-bus." It was cramped. Very little space. ALL beverages....including coffee and water....were ONLY available for fee! Only credit/debit accepted and not just on airplane but at gate too! Oh, BTW, the luggage fee which they claimed was less when processing on-line turned out to be $10 MORE! Yeah, so $40 rather than $30 EACH way! Plus, when I went to buy our seats it immediately switched from a $4 fee to $12 per seat! I'm so angry & feel so deceived & taken advantage of that I'm never planning to use Kayak or Spirit ever again! They advertise as affordable fare but nickel & dime you to death. So sad what they do to people who like in my case had a family emergency and just wanted to get to my destination & back quickly & safely. Shame on them. There's a means of being profitable but then there's a means of being abusive and that's what I felt with Spirit Airlines. Due to fact that Kayak didn't advertise EVERYTHING about flight, I hold them responsible too. Oh, and if you plan to call Spirit, good luck getting a hold of a live person because it took me FOREVER!! Terrible, terrible, terrible!! Sincerely, Disappointed frequent flyer"
