I did ask, but got answers like 'we'll try to transfer them' or 'your bags are in the system', which were not too informative, but maybe as complete as those workers could ascertain, I don't know. I would've liked to be able to check in on line in advance for this and other flights on this trip, if you ever decide to open up that facility (without a charge), it would be appreciated."

Cons: "I dont know WHY Delta changed my flight with ALIITALIA, but, DON'T DO IT DELTA. The check in process took an hour, not talking about the line, the ACTUAL checkin at the counter. I couldn't complete my web checkin at the AliItalia web site. Landed in JFK, still sucks as an airport, nobody helps, nobody explains anything, very poor signs and instructions, Global Entry kiosk are hard to spot. My connection ticket didn't have the TSA/PRECHECK legend, went to AliItalia counter, the lady at AliItalia barely said anything when I asked for help with that, her immediate answer was to disengage and sent me to another terminal "to talk to Delta". She didn't explain or didn't want to give an explanation until I started to act as an already 9hr30min flight frustrated customer in a very old, very poor plane with poor food service. Again, I bought an over $1,000 ticket with DELTA, NOT ALIITALIA, if Delta send people with their "partners" at least make sure that they are taken care of properly."

Ordered dinner, was almost as tasty as a Stouffers meal (it was some type of glop of lamb). 7 hours into flight the menu advertised a warm chocolate chip cookie, asked for one was told they THOUGHT they were out, came back about an hour later said the found one, but it wasn't warm, so I passed (not a real fan of eating food they found) About 8 hours into flight , the attendant said out of the blue that they were sorry about not providing the meal all together as requested, but that the other attendant didn't know they offered that service."

Once I was on the plane, I started kicking myself in the you know what because I knew immediately I was scammed. I had purchased a 1st Class ticket for $400+, only to find that my comfort would be the equivalent of that if I purchased a ticket in economy. My long legs would still be cramped. For the past few years, I have been purchasing 1st class for it's spaciousness. On this flight, on the RCJ700, I did not fly comfortably. The space was very tight, and I was able to stretch my legs as if I sat in economy. This was by far, my most uncomfortable flight ever. SMH; A WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!"

Cons: "I purchased a first class ticket in hopes that I would have a lot more comfort during the flight. It took me quite some time to get comfortable. The seat was ok, but I found the pillows to be very small and flat. I needed multiple pillows. The head rest was not adjustable, so I also found this to be uncomfortable. Usually when I fly AA, the headrest is adjustable. My final dislike was that the beverage selection was limited. I'm quite sure there was plenty of alcohol, but what about those customers who do not drink alcoholic beverages? I asked for hot chocolate, there was none. I asked for hot tea with honey, there wasn't any. So all in all my flight was okay, but that is solely because of the flight attendant and pilot. They did their jobs and they did an excellent job."

I didn't like that my flight time was changed more than 15 times with no reason why until boarding time. I didn't like the fact that I did not get a seat assignment until boarding the plane. I didn't like the fact that they couldn't manage to scramble another plane and crew, but instead forced us to wait over four hours for one that was stuck somewhere else in the country."

In Rome had to check in & go through security at Terminal 5 then get bussed to Terminal 3. Only airport where we had to take out all electronics, including converter plugs, headphones, etc, place in a flimsy clear plastic bag ( that broke ) to go through security. Line to check bags pretty slow for number of passengers. Glad we had plenty of time."

We were boarded an hour ahead of departure from Rome for our 10+ hour flight, only to be held on the ground for a one hour delay. Barring equipment malfunction, this is a totally unacceptable way to treat people. Be assured that I will avoid Rome in the future if at all possible. I feel sorry for the flight attendants who have to fill out paper credit card forms if you present an American credit card. It’s like we are back in the 1970s. Ridiculous. It’s a $45/bag charge to check your bag. That’s almost double the standard $25 for American carriers. May try to avoid BA in the future."

Cons: "The flight did not take off when it was supposed to, so I missed my bus at Heathrow airport and had to sleep in the airport. The staff at Heathrow was not helpful, telling me to figure something out and then email the company for money because they may pay me back, but also maybe not. Even before the flight, I had to wait in a baggage check line in Rome for 2 hours while ever British airways employee attempted to address an issue with a single tour group check in. They gave us no information and just had us stand there waiting, refusing to let the line move, implying we are less important than the tour group. It was a miserable traveling experience."

Altho this flight was 'billed' as a British Airways flight, it was operated by American. A little confusing when one thinks they are ticketing on a specific carrier only to be 'baited and switched' to another. That said, the equipment was in great condition, the video worked during the flight, the movie choices were very current. The food was airplane food. What more can one say."

Cons: "Fog over London delayed our flight from Rome. Instead of dealing with this proactively, BA made us sit in the plane on the tarmac for three hours. When we finally arrived in Rome, instead of automatically rebooking us, they directed everyone to a queue. That queue, managed on a first in, first out basis, took FOUR HOURS, during which we missed more flights that would have gotten us home. If, instead, the queue had been managed by departing flights, more people would have gotten to their destinations in a timely fashion. We eventually we booked on a flight to NY and got a rental car. We were offered no compensation for this ordeal."

The sealed off personal ash trays gave me a good indication how old a plane I was dealing with for this trip. And no wifi, seriously?"

I watched my wife's screen for a whole movie and then re-asked a different attendant if they would mind restarting my screen. He did, and it loaded."

Very disrespectful way to treat a person, let alone a paying customer! Btw...I am a middle class 5' 11" tall college educated male."

Cons: "The AA employee at the counter in Batoj Rouge informed me that I would miss my connection at Charlotte Airport due to a delayed in the incoming flight. Hebgave me the option to flight the next day or flight the same day, and after a 2 hour delay flight to Charlotte where I would be provided a hotel room and a meal for the night. I asked several times if that information was confirmed and he repeatedly said yes. At my arrival at Charlotte Airport (near midnight) every AA employee said that they did NOT have any more hotels. It was obvious that everything was a staged lie since over 100 people had to spend the night in one of the the terminals where we were provided a pillow and a blanket. I am terribly disappointed for the lack of transparency in AA. I was told my some friends that they also have had experiences like that at the same Charlotte Airport. You have damage once again your reputation and from no own in will expect THE WORST from AA."
Cons: "American Airlines and the entire Terminal 5 in Rome did a horrible job of communicating with all outgoing flights on Monday the 18th when their computer systems went down. They kept us outside the terminal for two hours without restrooms or any explanation, finally began sending groups inside only to wait more hours past our flight time. Finally made it to delayed boarding several hours later, only to have them inform us at the bottom of the tube to go to plane that the flight was cancelled!!! Just said pick up your bags on Carousel 10 and that was it. Got our bags and booked a hotel to go to for the night, and they came out and said they were going to bus us to a hotel for the night. The hotel I booked was un-refundable and when I called American about our flight the next day that got messed up too and ended up with an extra five hour layover between flights. When we went to board from Charlotte to Nashville, the boarding agent announced we didn't have any pilots!!! So with a full flight, had to wait for them to find us some pilots. Will not fly American Airlines again if I can help it! Also the tv/entertainment units on the flight didn't work properly."

Cons: "The boarding process seems like it is hectic and not very well planned. A lot of people still standing in line that are not actually boarding yet because they are not in the correct group. This made it hard to actually board and know where the line was. Once on the plane the seats just seemed very uncomfortable."

Cons: "Having only one checked bag on a trans atlantic flight was difficult to work with. Also, having to pay extra for seats to guarantee that my wife and I would sit together. When we purchased the tickets for the flight I called Finn Air and they assigned seats for my wife and I, but American Airlines, the operator, would not honor the assignment. I won't forget that this happened and will look elsewhere when traveling again."

Cons: "The flight was actual operated by American Airlines, so don't blame Finair. I had to call Finair for a question and they were polite and helpful. The crew on the plane on the flight from Charlotte to Rome were just mean, curt, and generally unhelpful. They did not collect trash or dinner trays for well over an hour after everyone had finished. The Italian gentleman next to us was so disgusted he got up and found the trashcan himself and refused to talk to the flight crew the rest of the trip.It didn't matter because they disappeared after dinner and no one saw them again for 5 or 6 hours. On the flight back from Rome the crew was nice but slack. They skipped all the back rows twice row 34 onwards) when they got distracted during a refreshment service. They also repeatedly told passengers they were out of a specific item on the cart but "you can go to the back and see for yourself if we have any".Customs is out of control. They refused to allow anyone off the plane for over an hour because they had another flight come in "from the islands". Then they yelled at us about calling relatives to let them know what the holdup was. It took 1 and 1/2 hours to get through customs because they made us use the new kiosks then go see a real person and answer questions there too."

Pros: "Although winter storm Jonas wreaked havoc on our flight schedule, AA agents worked hard to re-route us repeatedly each time one of our scheduled flights was canceled. We were originally supposed to fly to San Juan, but due to all the flight cancelations & delays, we would have missed our cruise ship, so AA flew us to St. Thomas to catch up with our ship. Agents, pilots, flight attendants were all in a good mood in spite of all the stress from problems created from the storm."
Cons: "Very tight quarters on some of the flights. A few of the newer planes had more leg room which was appreciated. I understand there will be some free wifi & a few free snacks in the near future. I hope that is true because sometimes it is hard to have enough time to grab a sandwich between flights. Free Wifi and/or movies would not only help parents trying to entertain their kids, but I think all of us passengers would be in a much better mood if we could have something to watch to distract us from the tight quarters. One of my favorite suitcases was ruined, but AA has offered to repair or replace it."
