They put my husband and I in an exit row and my daughter at the back of the plane with strangers. I was not comfortable with strangers being responsible for my child. I assumed they would seat children with at least one parent. We did ask to move at the gate and the accommodated us with the last row on the plane. No recline, no window, and right next to the bathrooms. We took it to be with our kid but this policy needs to be revised. Kids should always be seated with the adult responsible for them... who knows what kind of person might end up next to my child. Not to mention if she had needed something is the stranger gonna take care of it? It’s just a bad practice imo."

We had to wait for a bus to pick us up and drive to a gate, this took at least 30 minutes. When we finally got to the gate of our connecting flight, we were only 15-20 minutes late. Our flight had already left and the staff directed us to the information desk for assistance. They sent us in the wrong direction. When we got to the correct desk we waited for an hour and a half to be seen, there were at least 30 people behind us. They offered us a flight that wouldn’t arrive to our final destination, San Francisco, for two days. We opted to have them fly us to Miami and then had to purchase our own flight from Miami to San Francisco. When we boarded our flight to Miami later that night we had to wait for over an hour for other passengers and bags that were delayed. Our bags are missing and we had to wait in an another hour long line to submit a claim. Overall it’s been a complete nightmare."

Cons: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, we arrived at the Lima, Peru airport only a little over an hour before our flight. We immediately proceeded to look for the Copa Airlines check-in desk. We walked up and down the check-in area a couple of times, but couldn't find Copa anywhere. The monitor listing the departures had the counter numbers for Copa listed, but there was no one there. Eventually an airport employee told us where to find the Copa offices on the second floor. We arrived at the office 40 minutes before our scheduled departure. Someone in that office could have easily attended to our bags and walked us to our gate. Instead they fiddled with their computers trying to put us another flight. They left us standing there for over a half an hour with absolutely no explanation as to what was going on. Eventually someone came over and said we would have to call the operations center and rebook our flights at a cost of $1500 each. Why they would abandon their check-in desk an hour before the flight departs knowing that there were people on that flight that had not checked in, is a total mystery to me. That coupled with the fact that they could not have cared less about us making our flight makes me sick!! What a joke!! No one I know will ever ever fly Copa airlines again!!!"

I've flown to Europe with various international flight companies and LATAM has equaled such but what put it above others was the personal attention when I had a problem with luggage. In Lima, Peru there was a connection and an attendant named Sebastian went the extra mile contacting luggage handlers with his cell phone to ensure my bag was recovered and waiting at the gate of my connecting flight en route to Buenos Aires. A special thanks goes to Sebastian. Thank you Brother."

No one was at the gate; waited a long time to speak with a representative. They booked me on the next morning flight from JFK, but sent me to a hotel in Long Island - 1 1/2 by bus that was jammed and overheated. Hotel was old, not kept up and food and service bad. Bus driver could not tell me for sure what time we were going to be picked up in the morning - maybe 6:30 AM? I was told. No one at the gate gave me this information either. I was ready at 6:15 AM and the bus was full. I waited for second bus. No breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Santiago was uneventful and crew during the flight were polite."

Cons: "TAM is extremely unreliable and will never leave on time. LAN was actually very nice, but their sister TAM is by far the worst I've ever taken. I will be very clear next time when booking in South America to not take TAM again. We were delayed by 2hours for no apparent reason."
