Cons: "There is always some sort of problem. When I was in San Pedro they said the flight was delayed, then it never came. They did accommodate me with a hotel for the night which was nice after almost losing my job. The last and final time I used this airline I was at JFK 2 hours and 45 minutes ahead of time. I was there at 11:45 for a 2:20 flight. They told me I had missed my flight because I wasn't there 3 hours early. No where on my ticket did it say anything about that. There was a lot of people complaining and then they told me since I "missed' my flight I had to by a new ticket on the spot, leaving me with no option and a heafty fee."

Cons: "Everything first every single flight taken was delayed by at least 30 mins and not on time, then they played last minute rescheduleds in which they over booked by like twice the amount of people on flight and offer a mediocre 100 dollar travel voucher to make up for it to get on the next flight that’s 4 hours later. Since no one took that offer they ended up rescheduling it and stopping in other places to ale up for the lack of space, what was suppose to be a 6 hour flight turn in a 12 hour flight."

Cons: "I was told hours before my flight that my flight was delayed due to weather in the NYC area and that the new flight time was two hours later. There were no weather issues at this time. This delay made me miss my connection and the only option was for me to have a 24 hour layover in Bogota, Colombia. As a woman traveling alone this was not acceptable to me but I had no other choice. I got a hotel room for the evening and tried to make the best of it. I was not offered any compensation for this inconvenience, nothing, not even an offer to pay for my hotel room. Similar things happened to three other people in my group that I was meeting in Peru all traveling from different locations. I lost an entire day in Peru because of this. On my return flight Avianca changed the times as well and I was forced to take an earlier fight home the day before I was scheduled to leave. I therefore lost a total of two days of my vacation because of Avianca and they did NOTHING to compensate me for it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AIRLINE!!!"

They proceeded to tell us that our only option was to stay the night and take another flight the next day. Us and 10 other people had to get into an argument with the staff in order for something to be done. After begging, they finally said they would put us on an earlier flight the following morning and they put us in a hotel. The staff did not care about us or our missed flight/wasted money that we paid for the hotel at our destination that night. It took 30 minutes for a manager to give us the time of day. Horrible experience. It's really shocking that this is how the company treats its customers."

Touchscreen functions were barely working on my entertainment screen, the remote control didn't work altogether. WIFI didn't work at all."

American Airlines customer service at JFK was horrendous, resulting in several passengers missing their flight. (I was there if 4 hours to spare, but had to wait 1hr+ to have my birthdate changed in the system.)"

I was given my itinerary back and rushed to American and began to self check in only to realize in the rush the woman had not given me back my passport. So, I rushed back to get it, loosing more time, only to find she had given it to another agent at another American counter but not at the check in area, and it took more time to find out who had my passport. I made my flight, but if ALL says FINNAIR, how am I supposed to know that I should instead be looking at fine print to discover which airline I am actually flying on and waste time!!!!!!! It should state CLEARLY that I need to check in at the American counter. In flight entertainment was really poor in comparison to other airlines on international flights."

I was never able to get the WiFi to work. There were no power outlets, and we were never offered headphones, eye masks or ear plugs. I expected more from American since our 2hr flight from Orlando to JFK had working WiFi, power outlets and in-seat video monitors."

AA did page me and had a representative (I think his name was Brian) waiting for me to help me get to my connection. He gave me a bright red/orange tag. I still hit some barriers. I was stopped in security and my carry on was put aside to be searched. It sat and sat . I explained to the man I had to go. He said he was working alone, so I had to wait. I was ready to leave it and just run to catch the flight, but the security man said I wasn't allowed to do that. He finally called someone else to search my bag (nothing found) I did make it...barely!"

One worker seemed interested in helping, but another rudely butted in and said there "were no seats together, the flight was full." Come to find out the flight was not full, there were whole rows not full. The groups near our seats rearranged ourselves so we could be by our family members, so it worked out. No thanks to the person at the terminal. Really long walk from the gate to the plane. No food on a cross country flight. Only a few cups of water/soda and a cookie. which unfortunately is typical now days. The lights were off the whole trip. The captain kept turning on the seat belt sign for the turbulence. Which there was a lot of. But then he would announce for everyone to go back to their seats. It wasn't huge bumps, just a little rough. and it woke everyone up by announcing it multiple times."

We also asked for ear buds and she never arrived with them simply stating they will offer/hand them out after they come around. She just seemed like she hates her job. Just terrible attitudes. very unpleasant flight."

No WiFi and having to look up to the middle isle to watch a child's movie on repeat " Guardians of the Galaxy." My neck and back were in extreme discomfort from the 8 hr flight back to NYC. If AA had headrest monitors and WiFi this could be avoided. Its 2017 stop being cheap!"

We sat at the gate, not knowing they had boarded, and tje plane departed unbeknownst to us. Had to stand in the rebooking line for 1.5 hours before speaking to a rep who told us we couldn't rebook our international flight. Had to request a supervisor, who thankfully after an additional hour was able ro rebook us."

The only thing I didn't like was that I'd wanted to book a return direct flight on American Airlines as well, but the price skyrocketed from a few hundred to over $2200, which is just outrageous, so I booked TAP Portugal instead. My friend paid under $600 round trip and it boggles the mind that the same flights shot up to over $2k... It's not realistic to expect customers to stay loyal to an airline that prices them out."

The FA was rather slow in serving and clearing trays. She was not interested in going around and asking for refills - when I inquired about it at dessert time, she didn't come back for 15 minutes and I had to ring the call button - she informed me they didn't have my drink of choice, so it was OK for her not to come back and tell me that. Service was terrible in First Class. American should seriously do something about that."

Cons: "When checking in the staff was so incredibly rude, nonexistent during the whole check in process that it led to several people missing their flights or almost missing it. I had to run around asking for someone to help the long line of people including me who were all in danger of missing their flight because no one was around to help. And then when I finally do get checked in using the now kiosk only option for the plebeian class while anyone above economy gets to talk to real people (way to highlight the class divide guys) I missed my check in time by 5 minutes and was told by the kiosk to find an agent. Then I go running around looking for an agent. I find one and she says you missed your flight. I told her I still have 45 minutes to make it, and she rudely just tells me to get in another line to pay for a new ticket. LUCKILY someone in the priority line saw I was having a problem, a customer not an agent, and she told me to try to talk to someone on her side. After 3 agents told me no one finally told me yes. I made my flight but just by a hair. If the agents would have been around to help or been willing to help me from the moment I spoke to them this would not have been a problem. Pros: "I have been flying American Airlines for years and never had a big issue. The crew was better some times than others but I usually travel at night and try to get some sleep. Obviously, I like the newer planes and hope that the fleet will eventually be replaced entirely."

Cons: "Almost everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Literally, every plane we were supposed to fly on had something wrong with it. We were delayed for hours, missed a connecting flight, had to take another flight which was delayed even longer, they had to find another plane entirely because something was wrong with THAT one. Once we finally got on the plane, we sat on the runway for an hour because there was some kind of TSA-related issue (awesome) and then the airport wouldn't let any planes take off inexplicably. We got to our destination 12 hours later than we were supposed to. But to make up for it, American gave us $10 food vouchers to use in the airport in the middle of the night..."

Cons: "I paid $150 extra for 2 exit row seats thinking we could use the extra room on the long flight. Unfortunately, the exit row space was cut off by and smaller than a normal row! Our legs were extremely cramped by the time we got to Rome. We had no overhead storage, which was already small, so we had to put our carry-ons multiple rows behind us -- which made exiting the plane a pain. There wasn't any personal entertainment systems, just one tv per section. The food was sub par. The crew was nice enough, but I'll NEVER take American Airlines internationally again."

Cons: "My backpack zipper got caught in another passenger luggage in the over head holdall. The crew member tried to separate it while the owner of the other bag complained about me like I’d done it rather than it being the bags moving themselves during the flight. The flight attendant ripped my bag zipper in order to separate the bags. The other passengers bag was not damaged. He tried to fix it but dropped the zip and then pretended it was okay putting it back in the holdall. Kind of unhappy that my new back pack was damaged"

If anything fell on the floor, I couldn't retrieve, I couldn't sleep at all & had contorted joints & a body ache when we landed. To design such tiny seats is truly inhumane."

Cons: "My American partner's passport expires 2 months after our return to the US. Unfortunately, the French issued a year ago the following rule: to enter France, the foreign passport must not expire at least 3 months after the return date. British Airways let us fly to London, explaining this to us, how it would be on us if there were problems further down, and that we would have to get our luggage in London. We chose to fly thinking it would be OK, we had listened to an online person who had had the same problem and the French later told him they would have let him in, also I am myself a dual citizen of France and the US, plus I am autistic, an invisible disability (in my case) that makes it impossible for me to travel alone. I usually do not even say it since not much is understood -by those who do not have it- on how to accommodate it However in London BA did not allow my partner to go on. Due to the fact yesterday was Easter Monday, the American consulate in London was closed. We have spent the night in a nearby motel and now, the next day, I am waiting alone back at the airport with our 2 large suitcases while my partner is at the American consulate. We are poor, do not have phone, currency or charger for England, and I do not do well with stress, so it is difficult. Now we cannot easily reach one another. We hope to be able to fly on a standby basis (that's what BA told us we could hopefully do) later today. Sorry for this long letter, I hope it does not bore whoever reads it (if it is even read :). For that matter the entire plane was dirty. Food was disgusting. The entire plane was understaffed; multiple people had their call lights on at one time. It was a miserable flight."

We were then instructed to deplane where the BA crew and staff then gave us incorrect information as to where our baggage was, how we were to rebook, etch. Basically they had ZERO response to the issue and were completely unhelpful . The 200+ passengers were left to figure it out on our own. They next day the rescheduled flight was also delayed several hours with no real explanation which caused us to miss our further connection, which cost us 2 days of our vacation. I requested some sort of upgrade for the trouble on the return flight and they refused.They did however apologize profusely..they were REALLY good at that part."

We booked a flight that said it was Iberia, operated by Iberia. However, Iberia refused to help us when we called to try to ensure we’d have seats together since we were flying with two small children. They claimed they couldn’t see our seats in the system and when we pushed for them to try harder to help us, they hung up on us. The day or two before the flight, we got an email from Level saying the flight was with them and that our tickets didn’t include food or drinks, even though it was an international flight. This is not something we knew when booking, as it wasn’t presented this way on kayak. Once on board, it turned out we had to pay for every small item - headphones, blankets, and anything other than water. Check in at the airport was a nightmare. They had only a few stations open, there was no option to do it yourself like many other airlines. They couldn’t figure out how to check a car seat without charging us and it delayed us greatly. The crew on board was very friendly, and obviously they don’t control the business model or prices. However, we had gate checked a stroller and upon landing in NY, we (and other families) were told they couldn’t find any strollers. In the end, all the gate checked items were released with the regular luggage. Fortunately one member of the crew helped us get through a fast lane in customs since we were carrying a small child. Overall, friendly crew on board, but not a good experience, otherwise.

Short flight. Got in, got out. Not much more to say. Job done.
Very ordinary experience. I suppose I should be grateful that I was flying to Barcelona and back to Boston for the price that I did. No food included during the 8 hour flight from Barcelona to Boston. What? Not even a snack? And that makes even less sense when you take into account that food was included during the flight from Boston to Madrid. Everything else was ‘meh’. Will be trying to avoid this airlines if I can. But sometimes the price trumps everything else.
Never use kiwi for your discount t tickets. When I arrived at Dulles British airways had no record of me despite multiple confirmation emails from Kiwi and Kayak. The check in staff at first said that the flight was full and they were sorry for the mess but they unanimously said “never book with Kiwi” They called British Airways main office and worked some kind of magic to get me in the flight but for 25 minutes I was was in despair and no one wants to start off a trip like that!
Excellent services all around. We were treated like royalty.
Very organized boarding and good communication from not only crew and pilot but appreciated the email updates the airline sends letting you know gate # in advance as well as boarding times. Both flights were short ones so food/entertainment N/A . But connection was extremely well managed ( again with email alerts regarding gate number and boarding times.) Luggage arrived like clockwork! Very smooth take off and landing too. Great experience.
