Cons: "The connection didn’t allow for enough time so I missed my connecting flight. LATAM doesn’t recognize PreCheck, even though US airports do offer that but without the printout boarding pass passengers can’t take advantage of the shorter lines. LATAM also charged for both flights to check baggage instead of charging once for the whole trip."

Cons: "they overbooked the flights and the way they communicated it to passengers was a complete disaster. I was able to board and travel but I had to sneak out of the actual line and show my visa appointment receipt to a latam staff person. It was very hard to talk to the staff most of them were just screaming "go to the line" and were not really keen to listening to what passengers had to say. I found a latam person that wasn't really dealing with this situation and managed to get him to talk to other latam staff about my visa appointment. It was pretty stressful for me to have to deal with the possibility of missing such an important event without a good reason."

Cons: "Disaster started at noon of the day of flight. Got notification flight delayed by 2 hours. That means I miss my coonection. Options for changes meant getting to destination 24 hours a later or with extra stop. I managed to buy a much better direct flight same day from different airline. And cheaper. I was so lucky. Getting refund for this disaster itinerary. But it worked out in the end."

Cons: "Latam needs to rethink seating in the airbus. I’m 5’2 and I felt completely cramped. Did not have room to bend down for under seat carryon, comfortable exit isle to use restrooms, and definitely could not sleep. Very long flight to be in such cramped conditions."

Cons: "Paid for an extra leg-room seat months before the flight. When I checked in days before, I find they have sold that seat to someone else. The schedule of the flight had changed and for that reason (?!?!) my reserved and paid for seat was not carried over!!"

Cons: "The service is terrible . They lose bags , the planes are dirty, you can still see head grease on the windows and old dried up food on the seat backs. We were delayed 40 minutes. No annoucement or notification . The staff are rude , and don’t care . Very unreliable airline - the food is disgusting."

Cons: "My 3 Hour layover was extended to Nine hours. The Peruvian airport offered me a hotel room i turned down. Peruvian gentleman on the plane just prior to landing was telling me how dangerous it is in Peru in the area surrounding the airport. I was given four hours of wifi coupons and coupons to a breakfast and lunch at a restaurant by our gate, where i was waited on poorly. Next time i may look for a layover in Florida."

Cons: "The flight was delayed, moved, and when it finally took off it was re routed back to São Paulo with almost zero communication. We were herded around with attendants who had no idea why our flight was canceled mid air and we had to fend for ourselves for rebooking."

Cons: "Flight was canceled after I had gone through security and was waiting to board. I received an e-mail from Kayak, but no notification from LATAM. No one was at the gate; waited a long time to speak with a representative. They booked me on the next morning flight from JFK, but sent me to a hotel in Long Island - 1 1/2 by bus that was jammed and overheated. Hotel was old, not kept up and food and service bad. Bus driver could not tell me for sure what time we were going to be picked up in the morning - maybe 6:30 AM? I was told. No one at the gate gave me this information either. I was ready at 6:15 AM and the bus was full. I waited for second bus. No breakfast at the hotel. Flight to Santiago was uneventful and crew during the flight were polite."

Cons: "I flew LAN many years ago and remembered this flight to be a lot better than it was this time around. The seats barely recline and in Economy leg room is comparable to AA flights going to South America (which is pretty bad). Forget about sleeping. I had some hopes for the food but it disappointed too. Breakfast, for example, was essentially a warm sandwich with a paper thin layer of ham and cheese. They stuff you with bread. Had a much better experience flying sister company TAM."
