Upon arrival in China the 144 hour travel visa was granted with no problem within minutes, but the U.S. staff was completely befuddled by the possibility. The interrogation was completely stressful and resulted in a reschedule of the original flight and during the second attempt at flying even an email from the U.S. consulate with a link to the Shanghai/Chinese government immigration site was deemed "not official enough". i will be expecting proper compensation. I was once given an $850 travel voucher for voluntarily giving up my seat, and was flown first class to Hawaii, given 4 star accomodation and then flown first class on to China within 48 hours. This was an involuntary bump from our chosen flight time, all because of a lack of knowledge about current visa regulations and international law on the part of the check in staff. We have been loyal Delta users for over 15 years, and this was the biggest blunder ever. Also humiliating and extremely frustrating, stressful and a big problem with fulfilling our travel plans between son and father."

I work in the industry and sm usually not this brutally honest, but the whole trip was pretty disappointing."

I think that if Delta puts you on an affiliated airline, they should pick up the tab for the meal. Entertainment is via your smartphone. Don't have a smartphone, no problem, cough up $10 for a 2 bit tablet to watch a movie!"

Cons: "I was told I would be able to choose the seats only 24 hours before the flight by going online. I tried to choose the seats online but could not have access to the site. I then called the number provided to ask for more help, and was told that I could then only choose the seats at the check in time. I was at the airport 2 hours before the flight schedule to book my seat and was told them that I could only choose the seats at the gate. Once I got at the gate I asked the person to please give me a seat at the aisle for medical reasons but after waiting until the boarding process had started I was giving a middle seat. Not only I was treated as a stand by passenger that had not purchased the tickets I was put nt on group 8 and at the moment of boarding the gate personal aggressively grabbed my carry-on bag because they insisted there was no more spaces in the compartment above heads. Once I got inside of airplane I saw many empty compartments available for carry-on luggage. I wish I had not purchased my ticket with Iberia Airlines operated by American Airlines. It was not a good, pleasant experience and do not recommend. I wil certainly avoid in the future and not travel this way another time. Thanks"

I drove 5.5 hours to another city to catch a flight to Europe, believing my return ticket was valid as AA first told me, only later to learn they cancelled it. Thanks to AA, I currently I have no return ticket. Others on this flight and on my later Iberia flight were cursing AA loudly so I don't think my issue is an anomaly, but is more likely AA's new standard of conduct."

I didn't purchase a sandwich but the two guys next to me did and were both vocal about their disappointment with what they received for $9. And they were strangers who didn't talk to each other the rest of the time, so I think they meant it. Also, entertainment: they had a movie on the pop-down screens, and 4 free movies to stream to your device using onboard wifi, as well as 2 tv shows. So maybe I'm being harsh. But it was a transcontinental flight and they didn't have headrest screens loaded with movies. Is this only for international flights? The movies were bad, or at least not appealing to me ('Keanu' and 'Zoolander 2'). It was possible to pay for additional movies, but who wants to do that? It was sort of the EasyJet model, where you get good basic service but pay for everything additional that one gets for free on Delta. Maybe that was reflected in the price I paid for the ticket, but I was expecting that AA would be in the same league as United and Delta. One nice perk: free wifi for T-Mobile customers, including me."

Pros: "Help that I received from check in through security to the gate was awesome. The person who checked me in offered me a wheelchair as it was a pretty long distance to the gate. I don't think that I would have made it all the way without her for thought and help! Same goes after the flight when we landed in Philadelphia. From the plane to gather my luggage and then to the place where my ride could pick me up. Awesome service. The stewards were also very helpful to keep me supplied with ice for my dogs. They get very stressed and tend to overheat. Thanks to a couple of the staff, especially, my dogs stayed very comfortable as well. Other then the fact that they got too warm a couple of times. Will definitely keep American in mind for another flight."

Also, unlike other airlines they installed metal boxes underneath the seats for the life vests which take up a third of your leg room. Overhead air barely blows and the overall temp was a little too warm for comfort even while just wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Lights were bright for first half of the trip until they finished drink service even though flight started at midnight."

Cons: "I was seated in the economy section. It was quite uncomfortable for a four hour flight. I'm 5'9" and didn't have enough space to stretch in the 737. I felt bad for the middle seat section because there was no room at all. I had an aisle seat and still didn't have enough room the stretch. There was no food or snacks served but the crew did offer free drinks: oj, tea, water, or soda. if you can upgrade to economy plus it's definitely worth it. Spend the money for it. You will have more leg room for sure."

I specifically picked two seats next to each other because the person I was traveling with has anxiety while flying. If other passengers hadn't willingly changed their seats then we wouldn't have sat together. I told the flight attendant and she dismissed me entirely. Also they packed is all in even though the exit row seats were completely filled. I think they should've just allowed some to have those seats for the comfort of the rest of us"

I can understand the theory behind the grouping, but, by time it was my time to board, since I was in group 5, all the overhead luggage bins was filled up. Also, I am a big man that buy my tickets months in advance and choose my seating wisely, months in advance. Just to give it up to a family sitting next to me that wants to sit together. That was my choice in the matter though."

Cons: "The flight was delayed hours before the flight, then again, then the second delay was revoked. The flight was from Seattle to DC to Philadelphia, and the layover in DC was too short. A delay that was at first 10-15 minutes, then changed 4 or 5 times until it ended up being a 30 minute delay caused me to miss my next flight because I only had a 50 minute layover in DC. No one could tell us why the flight was delayed in the first place, then I got off my plane, and was told that I had already missed my flight, and given a voucher for a hotel room, and it turned out that the second flight was delayed as well. Then I had to wait an hour for my bag to make it from the plane to baggage claim because they did not put it on the conveyor with the rest of the passengers' luggage, even though I specifiaclly asked them to do so when I got off the plane and got my hotel voucher."

Staff was unfriendly checking my bag in (I had to pay $82 for ONE checked bag), boarding the plane was a complete unorganized mess, the flight was bumpy and uncomfortable, the beverage I asked for on the flight was out of stock, the landing was horrific. By far, worst 2 hours on a plane I've ever experienced."
Pros: "When the lost luggage was returned (nothing missing) they put a cute tag on it that said "I missed you". But the aggravation was not worth the humorous picture of a bag with open arms. May I suggest that future passengers don't check luggage in more than 2-1/2 hours in advance. I suspect that they may not yet have a cart to accumulate luggage for your flight."
Cons: "I missed my connecting flight in Detroit due to my flight leaving late from Baltimore because of bad weather in Chicago. Spirit did not have any other connecting flights until 2 days later. They offered no assistance. I needed to be at my destination the next day for a wedding, so I had to purchase an additional ticket out of pocket from Southwest (staff was very helpful). I recommend removing Spirit Airlines from Kayak."

Paid more than we would have with other preferred airline which we normally travel Impersonal service Broken seat in front of me so that tray did not operate & leg room - what there was of it - very compromised Staff on board are sloppy when giving instructions, especially on the intercom. Need speaking training. Talk way to fast, slur their words. Will NEVER fly Spirit again. You get what you pay for."

I will never recommend Spirit or travel with them again."

Crew constantly reminds us of the crappy service as if they are proud of it (as in "please clean up the plane for us so we can keep your fares low"). Web site does not tell you what will happen if you don't choose a seat."

When we got to the airport the girl that checked us in was nice enough (I guess) to charge us the online check in price- $42 per bag. Still ridiculous and the weight limit is 40 lbs not 50. She had SOOOO much trouble doing this. She probably asked me 5 times if we (my bf and I) were both checking a bag. I know pot is legal in WA but come on. Finally we get our bags checked and paid for. Already annoyed. We waited forever to board. Probably started boarding 15/20 mins before our flight time. It was the same type of plane that I flew to Seattle in- so uncomfortable. The seats are awful and they don't even recline. The seat "pocket" in front of you is literally bungee cord so you can't put anything in it. And the tray table is TINY. No tv, no music, no blanket or pillow (9:40pm flight you'd think they would know people want to sleep). Just awful all together. So uncomfortable. I received an email from Spirit asking me to fill out a customer service survey- the link didn't work! Big surprise!!! They're probably sick of hearing all the complaints! Never flying with them again."

Cons: "I didn't realize that I have 0 carry-ons and 0 checked bags. Checked bags were slightly less expensive than a carryon so I brought a larger checked bag with me for the smaller price. It's a steep price though! $83 round trip. It would have been nice if Kayak put some kind of tag on flights that don't include carryon/checked bags, or let me choose how many of each I needed and factored those into the flight costs when I do my price search."

There was ONE person (division manager?) who went above and beyond and apologized for the less than professional behavior of his colleagues, comped us meal vouchers and assisted us in searching for flights on other airlines - while he didn't have the capabilities to actually book the flights himself, he still aided in helping us find ones which was very much appreciated."

Not only was this a reoccurring situation with one of the employees, but the second employee LEFT - just walked away from a line of 50+ People with no explanation to anyone and never came back? Which only added to everyone's frustration. How she handled that was outright ridiculous. I assume she has another place to be, but to walk away with zero explanation is unacceptable."
