Bathrooms onboard were a pigstie."

Cons: "5 minutes until boarding at JFK we were told to transfer gates; upon arriving by shuttle to the new gate, passengers were informed the aircraft was downsized and 20 people needed to be bumped. I volunteered since I had a flexible schedule so Delta re-issued me a ticket at 9am JFK for a 10am flight out of La Guardia. I trusted them I'd make it in time and they said they called taxis for us so we left to go catch them. Actually, no taxis were to be found so we had to call our own and were significantly delayed. I was in the first group of 5 people to be re-issued and arrive at La Guardia. Everyone else bolted but my new boarding pass didn't work and they actually didn't properly re-issue my ticket as I had been booked as leg 3 of my international flight from Malaysia. After they called three different departments including China they were able to print my ticket at 9:54am so I sprinted through the security and to my gate and was able to somehow make the flight as they were closing the door. However probably 14 or so of the original bumped passengers definitely didn't make it."

Cons: "So I arrived in Atl was on standby for the 7:20 flight to Dca airport I had already paid $50 for standby! I got cleared for this flight and bumped to delta comfort. I was super excited to finally get upgraded! Then the plane had problems we were then again delayed and had to deplane. We were told this would be a 2 hour delay. I proceeded to try an get on the next flight at 8:20 while asking about a window seat the lady told me I would have to pay an additional $19! Well I had already paid $50. So the nice lady put me on that flight after I had already asked for window seat. She put me in the middle seat! I get that planes have problems and flights are delayed! There was so much bad yesterday then good and I feel like delta should know. It's more and more bad everytime I fly! Please fix these problems!"

Of course, no flights back to US so I was stuck an extra day, completely messed up school and work. I THOUGHT I was booking with Iberia but it was a code share. A little embarrassing that an airline in America can't afford a hotel for people stranded in a city overnight."

Cons: "We were rushed onto the plane to sit on the tarmac. After waiting to take off for 45 minutes, we were told that our route had been closed and they were looking into other options. This was a flight from NYC to DC, route is closed? Once we finally got into the air, all was good."

By the time we got to DC I had JUST missed my connecting flight. It was listed nowhere on the departures screen and I realized I had to take an outdoor bus to the other half of the "c" terminal which was very confusing. I got there and had missed the connecting flight and stand in line for 20 min for someone to tell me that I would be stuck in DC overnight. At this point rain had started pouring and they told me that because my mishap was due to weather they would provide no meal or hotel voucher. Weather was not the issue and I was stuck in DC overnight by myself and not compensated for hotels or meals."

Cons: "The flight was canceled with no warning that anything bad was even possible. No efforts were made to get the passengers to DC even close to on time. I ride ended up just having to rent a car and drive there."

AA refused to offer any assistance with a hotel or rental car and literally ran through their script versus showing any empathy. Terrible experience and will never fly AA again."

On that trip I did a review and gave the whole trip a 1 out of 5 stars. That trip was the trip from hell, with delays, waiting on the Tarmac, deplaning, almost cancelled, more waiting on the Tarmac, wheels up in Reagan, wheels down in ORD, and then more Tarmac waiting for a gate. So I was already more than perturbed when this trip had similar outcomes."

Once in board we find out that they can't take off because they need to fix the "entertainment system" but apparently they sent the wrong technician who didn't know how to fix it and had to wait for the right one. I'm not even sure what had to be fixed since there wasn't even any entertainment offered after they fixed it. Once we arrived there were about 100 bags sitting in the bag claim and an equal number of people standing around waiting for bags. None of which was associated with our flight. Then it took forever to get the luggage out for our flight."

I was told there were no more flights to DC until Saturday, which was totally unacceptable for me. I got on standby to a flight to Philadelphia but had to rent a $220 rental car in order to get home at a reasonable time."

Along the way the crew was great, but American is run by someone who does not care about customer service. I won't be flying with American anymore."

Cons: "On the flight back home, AA cancelled my connecting flight, and did not bother to notify me, even though I have my account set up for them to notify me of flight changes. If not for the Kayak app on my phone, I would have flown to an airport where I may well have been stranded for hours, if not the following day, for a flight that no longer existed, since I had already checked-in on-line and would have gone directly to my first flight. Thanks to flight status monitoring by Kayak, I got an email from Kayak telling me that the flight was cancelled before I left for the airport so that I could go to an AA desk. They were particularly unhelpful and uninformed, and it was only sheer luck that I was able to get on the first flight I was on stand-by. I know this sounds like a commercial, but put the Kayak app on your smartphone and don't travel without it. AA will quite happily leave you stranded without it!"

Cons: "Now that American has completed their takeover of US Air, they have downgraded the planes on the CHS/DCA route to crappy little Canadair regional jets. Boarding/disembarking at DCA is via bus at the dreaded cattlecar gate 35X. What was a pleasant flight experience on US Air is now something to dread. Fortunately, Jet Blue also flies this route with full size planes and boarding gates."

Cons: "I had a 3 leg trip: Seattle to NY to DC to Seattle. First my early morning non-stop flight from Seattle to NY was cancelled around 5 PM the previous day. I was able to get on another flight with one stop and was stuck in middle seats for both flights - although I had paid for a premium seat on the nonstop flight that was cancelled. Then I got notified around noon that my 5:15 PM flight from NY to DC that day was cancelled. American left me a voice mail that they had automatically rebooked me for the following day without checking to see if that worked for me - despite that fact that they had other same day flights available! I was able to rearrange my schedule and get on an earlier flight - but was extremely unhappy with the short notice, and their assumption that I would be fine getting in the next day!"

Having to check roller planeside. Would prefer a larger plane. Plane could have been cleaner. Delay at DCA while waiting for jetway. Couldn't robots move the jetways to the planes?"

Cons: "Overall the flight was great. I was carrying a suit in a hanging bag and asked the flight attendant in first class if there was a place I could hang it. She politely offered to hang it behind the last row of first class since none were in use. When getting off the plane, I grabbed my bag as I walked off and the other flight attendant said "you can't put your bag there, it isn't for you" to which I replied that I was told I could use the hanger. She then said "well you shouldn't have been given permission, and don't do it again, it isn't for you." The tone was a bit rude, and maybe the consistency should be reviewed."

Pros: "I didn't fly American to Melbourne. I flew American to LA then flew Qantas to Melbourne. I would never fly and American owned are line to Australia again. They are just not as good at it as Qantas"

Pros: "Economy Basic check-in was easier than I'd expected it to be, security was quick and seamless. Once on board the aircraft, the flight crew kept us informed about possible weather issues (e.g. turbulence), including the approximate time to expect it, how long it might last, and that it would probably preclude in-flight beverage service. Flight attendants offered to provide one-at-a-time beverage service to those "really in need of a drink." I thought that was pretty gracious under the circumstances, and was happy to see that passengers didn't take advantage of the option :-). Looks like United is doing its best to counteract its recent negative publicity. Well done!"

At the end of the flight the tvs camenon again. It was also a night time flight - how can you sleep with the screen on. Also, the seat space seemed smaller than usual so the screen was in my face. I hated this flight."

Cons: "At Chicago they charged me # 25(dollars) for my bag that weighed Twenty Five pounds. Why? When I left D.C. I had the same bag with me in the plane. When I asked the people at the United Counter no body could give an answer."

Cons: "Departure was delayed for five hours. Gate changes 4 different times to opposite sides of the terminal. Weren't told honest reason of the delay until two hours in. They boarded half of the plane and stopped when the pilots radioed in that there was a severe hydraulic fluid leak. Updates were supposed to happen every thirty minutes but more than three times they were longer than thirty minute intervals and at one point more than ninety minutes without an update. The representatives at the Chicago gate told us we were all set then the rest of the passengers boarded the plane. The pilot said they were waiting on maintenance paperwork to print off but then we waited an extra hour at the gate on board while we could still hear very loud tests of the hydraulic system. Once we finally left the gate and headed out on the runway for takeoff we stopped just before takeoff and the pilot said we were waiting on PAPERWORK AGAIN! This was another 30 minute delay and we finally took off. We were supposed to arrive home at 10:00pm and instead arrived at 3:00am..."

Cons: "After three on-time flights from the other side of the world, I was stuck in Chicago for a 3 hour delay. The flight finally arrived at Reagan 2 minutes after the runway closed so we were rerouted to a different airport where we finally landed 4 hours late."

Pros: "Ive had a hip injury so walking is problematic. I was worried about my 45 minute transfer time in Ohare. The boarding attendant at Charleston ordered a wheelchair to meet me. I got to my plane as it boarded. A distance I couldn't have walked, much less in the time allotted."

Cons: "Not enough time between transit. Barely made the connecting flight. Boarding pass did not list which terminal I needed to go so when you hop in the train at O'hare, you are not exactly sure. O'hare is not well-organized. The 1 stop immigration/custom check actually was very slow. The regular check was very chaotic, with officers yelling info everywhere. Felt like I was in the market."

Pros: "My flight to O'hare from Reagan international was fine but my returning trip was just terrible. After spending extra hours waiting due to a delay, we were about 30 min from DCA and our flight was redirected to N.C where we spend an extra 2 hrs waiting for the plane to re fuel and the reason the airline's flew us to N.C is supposedly due to weather in D.C but i was told by locals that its hardly rained. I had spent 11hrs total in airports yesterday. I could have taken that trip via car in 12hrs and saved myself $300 bucks or more. I am beyond unsatisfied with how my travel experience was. From rude united employees to a bad flying experience i will not use united anymore and frankly, me and all the other passengers on that flight should be compensated somehow for that experience. The only easy thing about this trip was purchasing my tickets through kayak and how well there service is. Thank you"

Cons: "Seat was in the middle of the isle, flight attendant kept bumping into me. The guy sitting next to me didn't fit in his seat so he took up most of the room. Very unpleasant experience, especially after spending money to upgrade to more comfort."
