We waited in line for 1-2 hours to pick up our rental. Once we got into our car (after an additional wait in a separate line in the garage as they were giving people in the garage line cars the moment they were returned) it smelled of cigarette smoke and had not been cleaned very well.Reviewed Apr 9 2023

The check in process at ATL airport was very slow. We waited 45 minutes to check in. At the check in counter, the representative told us we would not be able to fit our 5 passengers into a 5 passenger car. We were traveling with 2 adults and 3 children (ages 12, 15, 16). No one in our group is overweight. We were pressured repeatedly into upgrading to a larger vehicle. This upgrade was not large at all. We paid an additional $200 for this upgrade which was not necessary at all!Reviewed Feb 23 2023

The line to get the car was very long. I waited about a half hour to get to a representative. Then there were no cars available since they were getting washed so I had to wait another 15 minutes. But… I really liked the Toyota Camry I got! I was able to navigate easily by syncing my phone to the car. Also the drop off was very convenient. The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. If Avis could have reduced my wait time to get the car my experience would have been rated excellent! Thanks for asking!Reviewed Feb 22 2023

We reserved our car and thought everything was good to go. Once we arrived to pick it up after a long 9 hour flight, we were told that since we didn’t have a credit card, we could not proceed. So we had to scramble and find another car rental place with two small children who are tired and hungry to get home after a long flight. We were not made aware of needing a credit card in the initial email from Avis. We did receive an email while we were in the air confirming our reservation and it did state that we needed to bring our license and a credit card. But, we were in the air on the way to pick up the car. That didn’t help us too much. Just a poor overall experience. I had the money to pay. Our family does not use credit cards.Reviewed Jan 11 2023
