Avis canceled my reservation before the 24 hour grace period “because I hadn’t picked up my car in time” even though we called to let them know we’d be arriving the next morning instead of that afternoon.

Horrendous. Waited 2 hours bc they overbooked. 7 people ahead of me in the same situation. Then the only option I was given was to pay extra for a luxury car despite it being the only car and not my choice.

I did not enjoy my experience with Avis. The first car I received had a malfunction with the screen that controlled the air, music and navigation. When I went back to exchange it, the next car I was offered was smaller than the original car. I explained this was not okay for our size group and was told my only option was to pay for an upgrade to a minivan. Which was the same cost as the size car I booked when I was online booking months in advanced, but now that it was the day of and their car had issues, I was responsible for paying more. Doesn’t make sense to me. The minivan had extremely poor air conditioning and trash was found in the car.

When I arrived at the airport they told me they did not have my car that I reserved. So then they said they will give me a larger vehicle for same price. Then they offered me full coverage insurance with 0 deductible. I told them I already purchased a policy when I booked the car.they told me my policy had a 3 thousand dollar deductible. After a 5 hour delayed flight and a line of people behind us I did not have time to go back and review the policy I bought. So I purchased there insurance after getting to my destination I reviewed the policy I bought from rentalcover.com and it did have a zero deductible so the rental agent lied to me

Extremely bad experience with Avis. Waited over an hour in live to get my car. The location in Brooklyn was extremely understaffed and disorganized. Return was quick at least, but the staff member yelled at me like I was a criminal. I’ve never been treated so badly as a customer. And then the bill was $100 more than the estimate for no apparent reason. I spent $250 and 90 minutes in line just to drive 60 miles. I will not rent from Avis ever again.

It took 45 minutes to get my vehicle with only 6 people ahead of me and 3 Avis employees working the counters. The employees were nice and seemed knowledgeable but the system is ridiculously slow.
