Bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever stayed in. Room was large, comfortable and beautiful. Staff was awesome. The shower is a HORRIBLE design. It has a fixed glass wall that covers half of the opening. The controls are under the shower head, so you have to stand inside the shower to turn it on. Seriously. I have long arms, but couldn't reach the controls without being in the shower. No avoiding getting wet in the process, no way to adjust the water before you do so. I first was shocked with freezing cold water. I then was scalded with blistering hot water. It was only a moment before I got it adjusted, but By then, my flesh hurt. And because the shower is enclosed with a fixed glass wall, halfway, the floor got flooded with water.
It was clean and friendly Check out time should be 12
Nice room, comfy bed. Clean room. Nice lobby and halls and TV. Good location. Shower drain was blocked. One of two employees was not very polite or helpful (checking in), second of two employees was nice (checking out). Pool was dirty, water low. Loud children in the halls.
Saw Kurt angle The showers were a little strange.
The indoor pool Paid a lot of money for really nothing. The room was nice but that was it.
The size of our room was fantastic. There was more than enough room for 3 or more people. It was clean, but it could use some modernization. The breakfast was more continental, coffee, a muffin, cereal, toast * yogurt. It did fill you up, and you really didn't need more choices. The resident dog Charlie, was very friendly and well behaved. The rooms could use some up dating.
It was big enough to accomodate nicely, a large group utilizing many rooms. Reservations were made for a Double Suite because we were told it contained two beds. We were given a King Suite on our arrival which has one bed. We were not informed beforehand, and were told at the front desk there was not a Double Suite available.
Location and it was clean
Location convenient to Charles Ives Center Do not disturb means "do not disturb" ...first day housekeeping called to ask if we wanted rooms made up. If we did, we would have put the tag on the door. The second morning we wanted to sleep until checkout. The phone rang at 8:30. I didn't answer it. Front desk said it wasn't them. Nobody had my phone number. I'm betting it was housekeeping calling to see if we were checking out. Annoying!
The bed was not comfortable. Since my husband is heavier, I slept "rolling" to the center. Very stressful on the body. Responding to the next question, this is the only "upscale" hotel/motel in the area. That said, there was a problem with hot water in the shower being consistent. It was unpleasant having the water "dying out" to cold several times over the course of the shower. The shower heads were cheap and sprayed water into a wide circle, therefore not much water reached ones body.
The spaciousness of the rooms, the furniture, the parking, early check-in We didn't get the room that was advertised for the price! There was no refrigerator, microwave, robe, slippers and the pay per view movies did not work for 48 hours!
The lounge, and the peacefulness of the hotel
attended a wedding no
We loved the bed - so comfortable, and the rooms were really nice.
The staff were super attentive. The rooms were beautiful and the beds really comfortable. Great location right off of 84. My only complaints is that I like a cold room to sleep in and I didn't like that the AC would shut off in the middle of the night, couldn't keep the fan to stay humming all night it would go off intermittently, so hard for a light sleeper.
location The floor had a large stain on it. The food was very poor. My door would stick causing me have to push on it very hard to open or close it. I did not have a room service menu in my room. The service buttons on the phone in the living room area did not work so I had to dial zero and ask the operator to direct me to different services.
We stayed at the Ethan Allen hotel twice while we were traveling recently. We absolutely loved everything about it. The staff were very welcoming and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The rooms are nicely decorated with Ethan Allen furniture. The beds are to die for and are comfortable beyond belief. Our room even had a Keurig which made us feel right at home and certainly beat the standard hotel coffee pot. We will definitely stay at The Ethan Allen hotel whenever we are in Danbury, Connecticut.
Attentive service - we requested a crib at check/in and it was in our room when we got there. Breakfast was extensive. The walls were very thin, we heard any water running next door, and all the noise from late arrivals outside our room.
Generally my room was in dire need of a facelift. The sink faucet in the bathroom was loose as was the molding on the floor. The refrigerator barely kept thing cool.
It was very close to the event that we attended that weekend.
The first room AC was down. As soon as we called, someone was there and when it was obvious that the AC was down, we had another room - all within 15 to 20 minutes:0)
Excellent customer service and beautiful rooms! The continental breakfast was disappointing and very disconcerting. There were alot of small children, under the age of six in the buffet area, without parental supervision, touching the waffle maker, other hot items, and they had their "little hands" all over the food and then not taking. My husband and I decided to leave after seeing that. I would suggest sign made not allowing children under a certain age in the food area or they must be accompanied by a guest.
Clean, comfort and nice hotel
This is an excellent property. It is located in a quiet part of Danbury, and nothing is within walking distance, so you will need a car to get around. The lobby is large and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful. My room on the top floor (4th floor) was very large, clean, and quiet, with a comfortable king-size bed, flat-screen TV, and work desk. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and well-lit. The internet speed was great. I would choose to stay at this property again in the future.
Liked: Spotless, warm and modern room/common spaces, great breakfast (great eggs, sausage), quiet, Good TV size. Easy to find. Convenient to highway. Free parking, free internet, non smoking, pool. Disliked: Minor: Tv station analog reception & limited stations, Fireplace didn't work. Major: cleaning walked in on us hours before checkout, and asked when she should come back. No do not disturb sign. When told desk @ checkout, sl. annoyed & dismissive.
Due to relocation we stayed here for a month. Initially we were skeptical, we are high maintenance and had no choice but to stay here. We had a few initial complaints;only one washing machine for the whole hotel, the desk person registered us one day earlier than we arrived but it was an innocent mistake by Marriott not the hotel itself and the only rooms for us were first floor next to cars and people smoking so windows open was not an option. But then we met the manager and in seconds she knew us by name, she fixed every problem that arose easily and while laughing, she endeared herself to my child and every other child I saw in the lobby, she had an ease of presence and relaxed but highly competant aura that mollified the most cranky guest.....and that let us focus on what we liked. Such as the breakfast and weeknight dinners were actually pretty good, we felt very much at home and relaxed, everyone working here is smiling and cheerful all the time, when my child would bother and distract employees they were charming and nice to him, when we needed to extend our stay they found a way to give us two rooms when there really weren't any available by being creative and flexible, and they also moved our stuff for us because we were not able to get back to the hotel in time....... I particularly appreciated the employee who moved our stuff from room to room so neatly and another handled the dinners and saved me a gingerale every night. We highly reccommend this hotel to anyone from anywhere who needs to be near here for any reason, especially families with kids. My son will miss the playdates in the lobby.

Squeaky clean rooms; modern dècor; amenities. It's hard to pull out of the entrance; bushes/plants to the left obscure view.
Friendly staff, Wonderful Breakfast, Close to shopping. Restaurant next door. Would recommend to my family and friends.
It was an awesome stay here. The staff was amazing the room was huge much bigger than any other hotel room I've ever been in and extremely clean. Breakfast was delicious as well
We have been staying here for 10 months due to a job and residence change. It is fabulous. The staff and facility have been nothing short of amazing. They have been kind, responsive, attentive and the hotel is safe, clean and well appointed. It is as close to home as you can get. We would recommend this hotel highly to anyone looking for short or long term accomodations in the area. It even allowed us to have our small dog, and they have gone out of their way to be freindly and helpful. Everything you'd want for any stay!
everything was great.... could not ask for anything more this price.LOCATION, PRICE, SERVICE NONE
Rooms were clean Rooms were mostly well maintained King size pillows and bed was comfortable Breakfast was good, but I'd skip the pancake machine, it was more a "neato" thing for kids to play with No temperature based thermostat on ac/heat Rooms with double queen beds had small pillows (the size of a throw pillow) that weren't very comfortable.
Good Location. Newly renovated rooms. Attached Restaurant. I am a Spire Elite member and work in the general area. In the past, I have avoided booking clients in this hotel, though it is convenient, as the hotel had gotten a bit worn at the edges. In light of the recent renovations, I decided to book two important clients in the hotel for two nights and give it a try. When they checked in, they noticed an extremely pungent smell of sewage in the common areas on the first floor. It appeared as if there had been a significant backup, as the floors were being mopped up--not a great first impression. The smell carried into the common areas on the upper floors, but luckily, not into the rooms due to the individual air conditioners. In the middle of the night, my guests were awoken at about 1AM by the fire department going through the building--I guess another guest had called the fire department and they were sampling for gas buildup in the hotel. I offered to book them at another hotel, but they declined as they were only there for one more night. I also asked if any accomodation was made on their bill at checkout due to the issue and they said that there was none offered. Needless to say, I will likely not book other business guests there in the future, which is a shame in light of the location and the in house dining.
i left a pair of sunglasses in room called reported it they never called back
McDonalds across the street. Shower control was hard to work.
Location, Clean bathrooms.
easy access from I 84
Didn't like nothing The staff was rude from the moment we arrived. Don't stay here
Comfortable room. Good price. First put in smoking room. It was awful! But we were switched promptly without a hassle. Also, loud young men with "banging' noises till late at night.
I liked the kindess of the staff and the convenience of the last minute booking through kayak. The price was excellent too! We checked in late and didn't see anyone at the front desk for a while so we weren't sure anyone was going to check us in. Also, the bed seemed a little hard.
Excellent location from the highway and walking distance to a choice of services. No staff visible at desk most of the time; could not produce a printed receipt of the bill at check-out.
Rooms were clean and quiet! Breakfast was nice and the distance from dining facilities and super markets Hotel was very dark
Please contact hotel they have charged for a consecutive night
The area was quiet, but still close enough to town. Everything is very basic, not even a refridgerator in the room.
Convenient for what I needed Asked for a non-smoking room. Got a past smoking room dedicated non-smoking for us and smelled like "cleaned up smoking room". Stunk. Hope I don't get charged for "smoking clean up charge".
Check in They would not change the room when I made a mistake the other hotel did. They did not go above
The beds were very comfortable. There is a great Indian restaurant on the premises. The temperature controls were very good. The TV was nice and big. The sink was pretty small, and some of the trim could be touched up. There was no closet.
Great location for traveling. Lowest price. Wifi worked great. Room was tiny, everything is old and worn down. Stairs/door were rickety.
Easy access to/from interstate. Rather nice flat screen in the room. VERY close to the interstate. You will hear road traffic all the times, and you will want to have earplugs at bedtime. Older structure
Location was good for the business trip. Everything. Was a smoking room when it was not supposed to be. No other available rooms. Rude staff. No parking places.
