Pros:Clean car and nice customer service once we were finally helped.
Cons:They need better signage informing customers that Avis and budget are one and the same. Stood in line for Budget for an hour waiting on the one and only attendant to check us in to our vehicle. Also still not sure if they will charge me for gas since they gave the car to me almost empty and stated on the agreement it was full. Nobody goes to the car with you to confirm, I did take a picture but I still feel like it’s my word against there’s. I’ll update this if I was overcharged from the original estimate due to them charging for gas they didn’t give in the first place.
Pros:We picked up and a Citroen wagon at Edinburgh airport. The paperwork was reasonably fast for a car rental. When returning the car to the airport, a staff member promptly handled the return in the parking lot, handed me my receipt and on I went. I would rate the service as good to very good.
Cons:The Citroen had an unusual instrument layout that was an ergonomic problem and a pain in the neck. The car was an automatic, but the shift lever was at the top and behind the steering wheel. To reach it was awkward and I frequently hit the windshield wiper stalk when reaching for the shift lever. Folding down the back seat to add storage was also difficult. It might have helped if the staff explained the layout of the car when I picked it up. Instead, I was given the keys and pointed to where I could pick up the car.
Pros:The attendant at the Edinburgh airport was friendly and helpful
Cons:Getting use to driving on the left side of the road
Pros:Everything I wanted at a reasonable price....
Cons:Online booking doesn't indicate insurance coverage is compulsory. You are left with no choice to pay for the insurance when you pick up your car. This is totally unfair because if it is indicated in the website, that may change my choice.
Pros:Rental agent friendly and when we got to the desk efficient. Offered a free upgrade. Drop off very quick.
Cons:One lady at desk resulting us in being there for 55 minutes. Interior of car biscuits on the rear floor and a pair of expensive sunglasses on the front passenger seat. Exterior OK

Pros:Very little because they are very frustrating to deal with.
Cons:Damaged car needed to be exchanged, cutting into vacation time. They then tacked on damage charges that wee already documented on pickup. Budget has since refused to send an itemized bill explaining their crazy charges. Very frustrating!
Pros:Every interaction was pleasant and professional. Pick up and drop off were quick and easy.
Cons:I forgot, being from America, that I would need a GPS and most of the cars didn't have GPS navigation systems equipped. The price of a GPS is £12/day. It added up quickly based on what I was expecting to pay.
Pros:The check in was easy, no waiting. Was able to upgrade with GPS, which was the best decision.
Cons:Signs to get to the check in and check out were not posted well. We spent too much time trying to find the correct place. The car had too electronics that took control of the car at times, causing unnecessary stress.
