Booking through Kayak was a huge mistake. Firstly I was allowed to book a car rental for 5pm only to discover upon arrival that the facility closed at 5pm as I was informed by the clerk who was locking the door. That was the first problem. I arrived at the facility the next morning to pick up the vehicle which was done by a different clerk. I informed him that the reservation was already paid for as well as the damage waiver purchased through the Kayak online booking. After the end of the rental the vehicle was return 9 hours before the drop off time. Three days later a charge appears for a damage waiver from Hertz that I had already purchased through Kayak. After contacting the Hertz billing operation and explaining that I already had the damage waiver purchased I was informed that they would not refund that amount. Hertz was unprofessional from the beginning of our interaction and I don't know exactly which company - Hertz or Kayak - is most at fault - If the facility closes at 5pm why was I allowed to book a rental at that time. I will NEVER use Hertz OR Kayak to book anything EVER again. Lesson learned

Great staff at this O'Fallon location - got me in and out the door in minimal time! Drove a Nissan Altima for 11 days and was very impressed with the vehicle and its fuel economy. Lastly, when I needed a lift to the airport, Hertz was there to assist w/out any delay. Thanks for an outstanding experience ..

The pickup was great. The O'Fallon branch was super helpful friendly and efficient.The williamsburg office is closed. Like until further noticed closed. I tried to call the number left on the door and there was no answer or option to speak to someone. I am still hoping I am going to be getting my 200$ hold back. I left the keys in the box like instructed but not sure how they will know.

Terrible customer service. Did not add my AAA discount. Will not adjust since they closed it out.Best customer service. I had to call and ask for a receipt 3 times to get a simple email. Agent told me she would add AAA discount at the counter but never did and not told they could not adjust. Terrible way to let a customer down

Not reafyComfortable.No washer fluid. I drove 40 miles to pickup the van n it wasn't there. I had to drive back home bccthey didn't know when it would be there n drive all the way back 3 hours later. Not cool the day before a trip when I had things to do.

Vehicle got good gas mileage and was comfortable.Whatever Hertz uses to "clean" (wipe down surfaces inside the vehicle) the vehicles stinks! To me, it smells like what schools use to spray on an area after a student vomits. (former teacher) The person who did the walk around asked, "What? You don't like that?" I aired out the car in our garage for 24 hours before I could get in and drive it with windows shut.

Not cleaned well; left out an important fact.I rented a Nissan Versa and overall, it handled well. It had enough power for Colorado passes, but just barely. Roomy enough for two suitcases two backpacks and assorted camping gear.Ten miles down the road the seal on the windshield began to flap in the wind; I repaired it myself. Also, the inside of the front windshield appeared to be wiped down with a soapy cloth and left to dry. I was told I could add an extra driver later in the trip, which I did, but wasn't told that doing so incurred an extra $13.50 per day fee. By that time I was nearly 400 miles into the trip (the fee was reduced with the use of my AAA card), but it was something that should have been mentioned during the initial pickup.

Do not use! use Enterprise if going to st LouisNothingThey did not offer pick up or drop off at the airport. The car was dirty windows were not clean. Dropped off car they had no assigned spots for Hertz cars in parking lot, and no other spots either. The car windows were filthy inside car was not cleaned prior to our pick up. The car drove poorly needed wheel alignment.

Car ran okay but was not very clean - also had tape adhesive on the outside of it - doors and trunk appeared to have been taped shut previously. Also felt the rental cost was rather high for an economy car. Not sure where the feature originated, but not having the ability to open the car doors after a trip without manually unlocking was a bit weird. I also don't remember the last time I had a car without a key fob and had to manually unlock doors with a key from the outside. Wait time to pick the car up was 35-40 minutes and wait time to return the car was 15-20 minutes, this is poor customer service.
