The guy that checked me out was great. The first van he tried to give me had the running boards cable tied in place. I told him I wasn't happy with that so he gave me the other van they had available. It was much newer but I had to clean it before I could put my guests in it. It had sandwich wrappers, potato chip bags, etc. so I vacuumed it and wiped it down with sanitizing wipes. It ran great and was easy to drive.

When I reserved the car, the price was quoted as $542.59. After all is said and done, it cost me $939! I'm assuming that the quoted price did not include certain additional fees of almost $400! I felt that the quoted price was misleading and should have stated that certain fees/taxes, etc was not included in the quoted price.

My dealings with Budget at pickup were fine, although the cost was very high, as is now the case everywhere due to a shortage of inventory. The problem I had was with the dropoff. The rental had lots of scratches and dents, all of which were noted when I first picked the car up. When I dropped it off, I asked if everything was in order and the agent said yes. Within a few days, I got a notice from a third party insurance company advising me that a claims file was being opened up because the car was returned with dents and scratches -- the same ones that were noted when the car was initially picked up. It took 30 minutes on hold with the insurance company before I got a live person on the line and they advised me that the claims notice was automatically sent out every time a rental car was returned if there are any scratches or dents, regardless of what was initially reported. That seems like a poor practice; Budget knows what damage exists when they first lease the car; they should only be sending out a claims notice if they believe there has been new damage to the vehicle.

Because I scheduled the car at the wrong Budget, 31 miles away in the same city, I was charged double (extra $900) to get the same vehicle at the location near the airport. A company should be able to honor the price I reserved. They refused and up charged me ridiculously. Will never shop at Budget ever again.

Agreed upon price changed and upcharged $400. Quote from Priceline/Kayak was just an "estimate"

The car was dirty inside and out. Also had a unpleasant odor.

I requested the Denver airport. Was not told that the nearest availability was 25 miles away. Having rented for 25 years online now, I made the assumption that what I requested (i.e., location) would provided, and if it changed, I would be advised of such. Hertz did so, informing me they had no cars at that location. Had to take an Uber clear across Denver to pick it up.

Nothing. They changed my pick up location from the airport to another place downtown. My pickup time was 12 Noon. Oddly…that location closes at 12 Noon and so we had to get a hotel room and wait for them to reopen the next morning. Terrible rental experience!!Everything!!
