They could have actually had the car I rented. I had to cancel the rental upon arrival for pickup because they did not actually have the car I rented and agreed to pay for.

They would not let me adjust the name on my car rental, causing me to cancel. They then said there were not any cars available, even though I had cancelled my reservation with them in that moment causing me to completely lose my car rental.

I encountered a massive problem and the nice lady at the Durango Avis took care of me without any hesitation. I wish I had her name. She saved me on a very tough situation.Verify car is ready before renting. Go out and check the vehicle with the guest.

Charged 100s more for a single day extention.Great CarDue to weather had to add a one day extension and Avis charged double the price of the whole week. They are crooks and after the good Kayak representative tried to help the Avis team lied, illegally overcharged and falsified the agreement. NEVER USE AVIS/BUDGET

They charged us per mile at drop off. Don’t think that was part of the original deal

Great service and we had a really nice car. Drop off was easy. Kayak did a great job of making everything smooth and a great price.

Not much to say. Dropped the car off and went on my way. No hassles at all.

Fair price, very uncleanThe car was a nice size for comfort and luggage and drove very well.On the down side, the windows were only clean where the attendant had used the wipers, the car was mud streaked, there were drinks spilled on the interior and mud all over the floor mats. It made the experience less pleasurable driving a filthy car.

Avis Rent a carIt was at the airport!!!The car was filthy. I left belongs in the car and the personnel did NOT check it when they rented it out again. I tried to call them and got auto transferred to the 800 number numerous times. I was told by the 800 personnel to keep trying, thats it. They would not assist at all. When I finally reached the customer service at the Airport in Durango, CO, I was told oops, we didnt find anything and rented it out already. If we check it later and find anything you can send us a prepaid label from UPS and we will mail it to you.

Customer service failureI reserved a car from Alamo at for Dec 25, then got snowed in & was unable to pick it up on that date. I phoned customer service the night prior & requested to changevthe rental to the 26th. The rep said he could confirm that and adjust the booking. When I called back the next morning to reconfirm before picking up the car, a different rep advised that no date change had been made to the booking and there were no cars available.I was unable to find a car elsewhere and my holiday plans were ruined.

Fast and efficient service. However the cost was high in comparison to the condition of the vehicle and the small town I was visiting.
Mix up in pick up location/timeResolved satisfactorilyThat it happened in the first place

Car was brokenIt didn't matter when the breaks didn't workThe brakes didn't work. Unreal that they can rent a car with rich a major safety issue. Secondly there was no one to answer the phone to tell about the issue. If you aren't going to staff the desk you should have an alternat phone number to reach

We arrive after closure on a Saturday, and they were not open until Monday. There were no cars at the airport Enterprise dealer. Luckily Hertz had a car for us- last one on the lot. The reservation should have more clearly indicated that we could not get the car if we arrived after 12pm on a Sat.

Unorganized and condescending.NothingReserved a vehicle over the phone. Went to pick it up a couple of hours later....clerk claimed that she ".......couldn't find our phone number," in order to confirm our reservation. Upon arrival at pick up point, we were told that there "....weren't any vehicles left to rent," due to the fact that they couldn't call us. Phone number was given.
No complaints - one of the easiest pick up and drop off experiences I've had.

Was rejected to pickupI got to hertz and they required either a plane ticket, or a credit card for payment o my rental vehicle... i didnt want to use my credit card, and they couldnt accept other forms if payment unless I booked a flight. The person at enterprise rental was able to do this however and she matched the rate from kayak that i showed her. I paid via debit card as i wished without a plane ticket. Please note, nothing in the fine print (because i did read that crap) said anything about this policy when booking via kayak.

SmokeVehicle was filthy inside and out..Cigarette smoke permeated into the upholstery. No other vehicles were available to exchange with.Everything else was satisfactory..

Taxes almost as high as rental. Staff at Durango location was rude and gave me a car with very little tread on the tires even after I expressed concern.

Overall a great experience.Great rental experience. We arrived earlier than reservation but car was immediately made available.Great rental experience. Only issue was the exterior of the car was really dirty. They had had a lot of snow so it was understandable.
Price on my reservation was not honored. They charged over $100 more, saying the reservation was made from Uruguay, even though I made it through Kayak while logged into my account with a home address in Wisconsin, and there was no indication that I was being given a foreign reservation. Very dissatisfied with both Kayak and Budget.

No one walked around the car to check for damage. After I left, I discovered a sizable dent on the passenger size rear. I did not put the dent there, it was already on the car when I picked it up. This wasn't noted on the paperwork.

Our flight was delayed coming into Durango, CO late at night and I was worried Budget would close and we’d be left stranded without a rental on our wedding weekend! Thankfully, Budget stayed open late until our flight landed and pick-up was a breeze. So appreciative of Budget accommodating our change in plans!

Terrible - Pay the extra money to work with a bettThey eventually offered to give me 50% off for the terrible service. I really don't have much else to say about my experience that is good but this says I should make sure the review is at least 50 characters so I will just keep writing a little bit. They sent me to three different locations before finally sending me to the actual budget office. The car I thought I was getting ended up not being available so I was stuck with an older Lincoln Town Car. Customer service had bad information and some of the people I spoke with were rude, acting like I was the problem, even when they had me running all over the county looking for their office.

There are, however, a few jaywalkers who opt not to use crosswalks and cyclists who don’t use the appropriate lanes that are intended for them, so motorists should be cautious while driving.
Compared to most big cities, Durango’s rush hour is generally short-lived with people staying in traffic between 15 to 20min from around 7am to 8am in the morning and starts again at around 3pm to 5pm when students leave school and people start their journeys home. The main affected areas are usually the intersections on 32nd Street and Main Ave, Highway 550/160, 15th Street, and Main Ave, as well as the arterial roads outside town. If you’re on a schedule or catching a flight, keep these times in mind when planning your route.
