Short line. Hand sanitizer available. In Sarasota the rental car agent credited me for the toll I had to pay at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, which was not included in the prepaid EZ Pass (which uses photo recognition for payment)Cons:
Staff member read a script of items available to purchase such as insurance and Sirius XM and EZ Pass. Hard to hear with mask. Could have been friendlier and less robotic. Purchased the EZ Pass for the week, however EZ Pass on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel requires the EZ Pass device, or credit card payment, no photo recognition. Tool booth clerk complained that rental car companies should know this by now. Had to pay at that toll booth. Also, rental desk extremely hard to find coming in a car to pick up the car, as opposed to getting off airport shuttle. We arrived with 4 large bags weighing over 250lbs only to be told they were “out of cars” and they had no idea when more would be available. Didn’t matter at all that we had an existing reservation for an SUV. This caused us major disruption to our trip and a lot of stress. It forced us to take an expensive Uber to our destination and rent a car at a different location at a much higher prices. Will not be booking with Kayak or Dollar again. Truly awful experience.Cons:

Granted, I picked up my car on Dec 23rd, which is a busy day given the upcoming holidays. But top to bottom, my experience was poor, at best. I booked at Inwood and received several conflicting messages directing me to pick up in Lynnbrook. The staff at Lynnbrook encountered a series of customers prior to my arrival and post my arrival, all of whom had varying levels of difficulty obtaining their rentals. I'm sure the jobs performed by these staff members is challenging, but their ability to mitigate the situation, deescalate, and treat paying customers with respect was nearly non-existent. When I returned my car to Inwood, I learned for the first time that Lynnbook staff was required to offer me a pick - up. No such offer was ever made. Also, the next day, I received a call from the Inwood office indicating that I had left an item behind in the car. I called back upon receiving the message and was told the rep who had contacted me was next in the office the following week, and that I should call back then. To be clear: no one told me what the recovered item was, or made any attempt to contact the rep who initially called me. The burden was placed squarely on me to perform diligent follow-up. As id I was the employee who worked for Hertz. Perhaps not a big deal in isolation. But this occurrence underscores a company wide culture which devalues customers time and expectations. I left feeling my purchase was not valued, that my time was unimportant and that the staff was not in attendance to assist me. I see no reason I should rent from Hertz again. Given that I rented another car earlier today, I can confirm I am acting on this self-imposed mandate.8.0 Very good

The rep never looked me in the eye during pick up or drop off: he spoke to the iPad and computer screen. I had to ask for the car to be washed. I waited for almost an hour between arrival and departure. Reps argued amongst each other. The entire office seems unprofessional and needs training.9.6 Wonderful

Customer service was second to none! The offer for pick up and drop off was very much appreciated. And the manager of the location that served me even have me extra two hours to return the car without surcharge when I called to inform them that I was in traffic. Awesome!Cons:

Genuinely friendly staff who made sure all the customers were attended to and that everything was correct. They were able to give me a ride back to the subway when I dropped off the car, which was great since the place is a bit out of the way. The car was in great shape and didn't give me any problems. Will definitely be open to going back here for my next rental.Cons:
The lot is hard to maneuver multiple cars in so at both pickup and drop off there was a bit of a wait to be able to get in/out. They also have pretty short hours(especially on weekends).One location in Inwood

That being said when I was sent out to the lot to pick up the car, the attendants were in cars listening to music. One of them refused to get out and pointed to another car. On drop off, there was no one outside. I left the headlights on pointed at the office and it took 5 minutes for someone to come out and check us out. The Kia Sorento had zero options. Really nothing. They wanted $23.95 a day for EzPass. Hertz charges $3.953.2 Poor

We were very angry and disappointed that we were faced with a 145% increase in our cost to rent our car due to the exhorbitant premium for an EZE Pass for the week. We were expecting to pick up our car, having already paid the rental charges and be on our way. We were then informed that if we were going thru tolls, we would be unable to pay cash. Unless we paid for the EZE pass ($226 incl taxes and fees) then we would be charged $25 for each time we went thru a toll plus the cost of the toll. We were staying with family in Arverne meaning frequent use of tolls. We were astounded - how can that kind of premium be added at pickup with no warning (e.g. we had booked the car 2 months in advance with no notice re additional cost of EZE pass.. We were also treated with shame and guilt that we would even question these charges. We would like some explanation why you would inflict this kind of usury on an unsuspecting client who rented from you in good faith. We would ask for an adjustment to the EZE portion of our bill and direct communication with the executive in your company who chose to set these rates. Chris & Charleen Evans2.0 Poor

Arrived at the airport at 5 am only to be informed they had no cars. I had to beg to just get refunded. The attendant was incredibly inept and indifferent. Your website said nothing about advantage needing a $200 deposit on top of he payment I already paid to you. My confirmation said it was pre-paid in full. I didn’t have enough credit to hold he deposit and therefore did not receive the car I rented. This was very upsetting. You should really state deposit information clearly and in bold when a person is booming through your site. I purchased insurance through your site and would like it refunded ($18) if possible. I wasted my time and close to $50 in transportation fees to get to and from the rental location.One location in Inwood
