The staff at the JFK Enterprise location was absolutely fantastic. Jesse was the man who checked us in and he really made it easy for us. We made a mistake with the return of our reservation - we accidentally booked a round trip instead of a one-way rental - and he fixed it quickly and with no extra charge to us. We also had tons of bags and he offered to pull the car around so we didn't have to carry them all to the car. He really went above and beyond to make the pick-up process easy for us and was extremely friendly. The car was very clean and ran very well!Cons:

I was incorrectly charged for refueling two gallons of gas, even though I topped off the tank less than two miles from the rental car drop off location. When I FUELED the vehicle I clicked the pump 3 to 4 times to make sure the tank was topped off, and the fuel gauge read full with 350 miles of available range shown on the vehicles computer. I had to call to get this refuel charge removed. Now I’m worried about the EZ-Pass charges not being charged correctly.8.4 Very good

Drop off at 40 Lodge Street in Albany NY was a bit confusing since it was sharing a parking garage with a Hilton hotel and the Hertz office was closed. The hertz counter at JFK airport was great. The person was nice and it was a smooth process.Cons:
The booking at Canandaigua was scheduled to drop off after hours. But the Canandaigua location wasn’t incredibly difficult to see at night since it was just a small sign in a window of a building that was primarily for another company. Then the out of hours drop box had no sign is was for hertz. It was plastered with the logo of the company that clearly was the main company of the building. When I felt uncomfortable with dropping the key in an unmarked (with hertz) drop box, I received these crazy suggestions to just lock the keys in the car but that I would be charged for an unlock fee. One rep told me the Canandaigua location was not an after hours location whereas another rep did say that was the case. I offered to bring the car back the neck day so that I could safety and comfortably return the car but was told I would incur a late fee. In all - while hertz was willing to talk to me, they did not seem to have it fully together when trying to give their car back to them and the suggested solutions seemed inappropriate while the right solution (have a branded after hours drop off box) did not exist.9.6 Wonderful

When I arrived to pick up the car I reserved a week in advance at 9:45 AM, it was unavailable because I was "late" for my 9 AM pick up time. Economy did not contact me and was unable to offer me any assistance. They also stated they do not take walk-ins only reservations, so it was easy to determine that a car had never been available that day. Two other customers present at the time with reservations also arrived to find that there were no cars available. An abysmal experience. We arrived with 4 large bags weighing over 250lbs only to be told they were “out of cars” and they had no idea when more would be available. Didn’t matter at all that we had an existing reservation for an SUV. This caused us major disruption to our trip and a lot of stress. It forced us to take an expensive Uber to our destination and rent a car at a different location at a much higher prices. Will not be booking with Kayak or Dollar again. Truly awful experience.Cons:

The fine print says you are required to pay for liability insurance if you don't already have your own, an extra $16 per day. My car smaller, it was due for an oil change when it was rented to me, and there was an alarming noise in the wheel well when traveling on the highway. Fox Company is located outside JFK, small inconvenience is that their shuttle is not parked by the Federal Circle where all rental cars are located and customers as myself needed to contact them by phone so I can be picked up and taken to their location. Perhaps, a better orgnization in time/schedule should be considered. Perhaps, Fox creating their own App for customers can create a more accessable and better experience. Now, the overwhelming ashtray odor in the car seats were unprecedented. Perhaps, changing/upgrading/removing the seat covers can override the odor and provide a better air/odor quality inside the car. Which I was in fact in contact with them everyday I kept the car and was being charged everyday that I had it over the time reserved. My trip was extended so I extended my rental. We were very angry and disappointed that we were faced with a 145% increase in our cost to rent our car due to the exhorbitant premium for an EZE Pass for the week. We were expecting to pick up our car, having already paid the rental charges and be on our way. We were then informed that if we were going thru tolls, we would be unable to pay cash. Unless we paid for the EZE pass ($226 incl taxes and fees) then we would be charged $25 for each time we went thru a toll plus the cost of the toll. We were staying with family in Arverne meaning frequent use of tolls. We were astounded - how can that kind of premium be added at pickup with no warning (e.g. we had booked the car 2 months in advance with no notice re additional cost of EZE pass.. We were also treated with shame and guilt that we would even question these charges. We would like some explanation why you would inflict this kind of usury on an unsuspecting client who rented from you in good faith. Arrived at the airport at 5 am only to be informed they had no cars. I had to beg to just get refunded. The attendant was incredibly inept and indifferent. Then I had to find another car from another agency and paid triple what I thought I would be paying. I will only rent from professional agencies from now on.2.0 Poor

Your website said nothing about advantage needing a $200 deposit on top of he payment I already paid to you. My confirmation said it was pre-paid in full. I didn’t have enough credit to hold he deposit and therefore did not receive the car I rented. This was very upsetting. You should really state deposit information clearly and in bold when a person is booming through your site. I purchased insurance through your site and would like it refunded ($18) if possible.
