Cons: The upsell was not tactful at all. When the employee pressured me to buy the optional insurance, I kept asking "how much is the insurance" and she would only tell me the total (not the additional cost I was incurring). I asked repeatedly and she either didn't comprehend the question or chose to ignore it. Then she told me I could elect to return the tank empty and Hertsz would just charge me for whatever it cost to refuel. But in fact I was charged for a full tank of gas right then and there. I could have saved myself at least $10 by just refueling myself before I returned. Lame.

Cons: I had to call a taxi to get to Hertz rental. When i got there they wouldnt accept my Visa Debit Card because it was not from a local bank. I had wish kayak would had told me before i spent money on taxi. Also they had debited 68.00 for traveler's insurance when i initially booked online . Therefore i wil need credit of 68.00 put back on my card. Would not recommend kayak until they are on the same page of these rental companies.

They were closed at the agreed upon time to pick up
Cons: I took an Uber to pick up my rental car and was supposed to pick up at 5:00PM and the office was closed even though their office was supposed to close at 6:00PM. This left me stranded until I could get another Uber to pick me up. I will never rent from Hertz again as this was highly unprofessional and if they needed to close at least have the common courtesy to call the people that have a pending pick up. I called the customer service number to demand a refund and they said that it would take 5 days to process, but that has been a week ago. I have a hard time paying for a car that I was not afforded the opportunity to actually pick up. I guess I need to call them again today to question the status of my refund. Never again Hertz.
