KAYAK’s top tips for renting a car in Wichita Falls

  • Because you are in the wonderful, vast state of Texas, car rentals in Wichita Falls are a wonderful idea. In Wichita Falls, you are between Dallas and Oklahoma City, two iconic places to visit. Wichita Falls itself is a mixture of natural wonders and recreation areas combined with downtown culture. Wichita Falls car rentals will let you see it all.
  • The terrain of Wichita Falls is comparatively flat. However, there are a few things that drivers in urban areas need to be aware of; for instance, this city has a number of bridges over the Wichita River, which runs through the city. Caution is advised when navigating these bridges with cheap car rentals in Wichita Falls due to the possibility of tight lanes or limited sight. Furthermore, Wichita Falls is located in a region of Texas with a history of strong winds, which can make driving challenging, especially for larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs. Windy conditions require drivers to be on standby and change their speeds accordingly.
  • Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is about 10 minutes closer to Wichita Falls than the Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City. And DFW is such a major hub that it is a wonderful airport to fly into. When you land at Dallas-Fort Worth, go to the baggage claim, and from there, follow the signs that lead to the Rental Car Shuttle bus stop. Here, you will catch a free shuttle that runs 24/7, about every 10 minutes. The shuttle will take you to the Rental Car Center where you can get your car and head to Wichita Falls. From DFW, take the 114 West to the 287 North, and you'll be in Wichita Falls in a little less than 2 hours.
  • With Wichita Falls car rentals, users can choose from a variety of adaptable and more affordable transportation alternatives to get about the city of Wichita Falls. However, to enjoy driving cheap car rentals in Wichita Falls, you must be at least 21 years old. Also, for those under 25 years, you might not be allowed to rent some vehicle models, such as SUVs. You must also show a valid driver's license with your name and a credit or debit card with a sufficient balance when picking up your rental car.
  • Though Wichita Falls is a relatively quiet city compared to bigger cities like Dallas and Fort Worth, you do still need to be careful while driving car rentals in Wichita Falls. Located roughly midway between Oklahoma City and Dallas, Wichita Falls sees a lot of traffic passing through the city. This might be one reason that Wichita Falls is around the fifth most dangerous city in Texas to drive in, in terms of traffic accidents and about eighth in terms of drunk driving related traffic accidents. While the driving in Wichita Falls is statistically better than that in bigger cities like Dallas, you still want to be careful.
  • Make sure to follow Texas' child seat rules if you want to drive your rental car with a child on any Wichita Falls roads. All kids between 4 to 8 years and under 4’9” tall must be in a child safety seat while using Wichita car rentals. These safety seats are provided by all car rental agencies at a nominal cost. According to federal child safety regulations, the child safety seat must be used as directed by the car manufacturer. Wichita Falls drivers with kids are reminded to restrain them in the back seat when they are riding with you on Wichita Falls roads.
  • When you are driving car rentals in Wichita Falls, be aware that Wichita Falls can be vulnerable to severe weather conditions - such as thunderstorms and hail - throughout the year. Thunderstorms with intense winds are especially problematic from March through June. Since inclement weather is always a hazard, make sure that the wiper blades of your Wichita Falls car rental are in good working order before you leave the rental lot.

What? I like about. The vehicle it was? Very nice great AC system. I'm very comfortable. But what I didn't like. I handicapped person couldn't. Go with us. And I like it because I'm plan to buy a new vehicle and I had that particular vehicle on mine. But no not to buy something like that. Cause it's not good for older people. And handicapped people. Thank you

The car that I booked for , wasn't available , nor a bigger size....so I had to squeeze Family and luggages. The Enterprise in Wichita falls, wasn't able to provide the right car, and She didn't put any effort on figuring out a better solution. It was a really bad experience, and all my journey has been effected .
