Had a reservation but Hertz did not have a car for me to rent
Pros: DId not have any positives
Cons: I had reserved a car at the hotel for the next day. When I went to pickup the car they told me they did not have one because they were sold out. ("busy week") They would not provide me any alternatives. I requested that they taxi or Uber me to the next location and they said they could not do that. Horrible customer service. 2 employees at location but neither could do anything to me. Worst case I would have thought they would provide transportation to another location or drive me. But I received nothing and they really did not even apologize for not having the car available.
I will not be renting from Hertz anymore. It was just the only option at this location.

Pros: Easy pick up and drop off, car was a little dusty inside, Kia Rio seating position was almost painfully uncomfortable to drive after about an hour for this 6'1" driver.

Pros: Good quality car, personable service.
Cons: High rental season, but still a little too expensive given Consumer Price Index.

Add on coverage unnecessary
Cons: I pre-purchased all the insurance coverage needed to compliment our personal vehicle insurance. When my husband went to pick up the rental, with a full printed copy of the pre-purchased insurance policy in hand, he was told he needed additional insurance. He was in a hurry so he okayed it. As soon as he got back to pick me up and drop me at the airport en-route to his destination, I called Dana Point. They were already closed (Sunday just afternoon), so I called the main Hertz number. Got bounced around numerous times, no one would help, all saying we had to go back to Dana Point despite the drop off location being Palm Springs, or go to another Hertz counter in route of which there were none open. The added insurance by Hertz was a scam that nearly doubled the cost of the pre-paid car rental.
Cons: I am convinced that they misread (benefit of the doubt) the gas level in because 5/8 of a tank should not take invoke a 40 mile range warning after 70 miles of driving. This is a 25 gallon tank! After adding 8.5 gallons to the tank, we were able to travel another 30 miles to our function and all the way back (over 100 miles) before the van was empty again. The van is suppose to get 14 mpg, I calculate less that is less than 11!
My frustration is they don't listen. They appear like they could care less. I will never rent at this Enterprise again. And one final note, add more staff, one should be forced to wait 15 minutes in line to rent or return a vehicle.
