  • Getting a vehicle from car rentals in South Burlington offers several advantages over public transportation. In South Burlington, the freedom of having a rental car allows you to explore the region and attractions, including Red Rocks Park, Overlook Park, and the Fleming Museum of Art, with utmost convenience. A rental car will also give you the freedom to embark on spontaneous journeys and visits to remote areas that public transport might not facilitate. Moreover, car rentals in South Burlington offer the convenience of loading and unloading luggage, especially for families or those carrying sports equipment. A rental car will also grant you the opportunity to avoid the constraints of fixed schedules, enabling you to immerse yourself fully in touring the region.
  • The South Burlington metropolis is served primarily by four airports, including Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV), Lebanon Municipal Airport (LEB), Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK), and Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG). Therefore, you will find a perfect destination for your flights to the region at any of these airports. At BTV, you'll find car rental desks situated inside the terminal, on the main floor, near the baggage claim. Upon arrival at LEB, you'll access car rental counters in the arrivals area of the airport's terminal building. SLK features car rental counters within the main terminal building in the arrivals area. At PBG, there are several car rentals in South Burlington operating counters in the baggage claim area of the terminal building.
  • Driving in South Burlington is a pleasant experience, primarily due to the strict enforcement of traffic rules. The city's well-maintained roads and clear signage facilitate a smooth flow of traffic, thereby improving motorists' safety and convenience. At crosswalks, drivers are accustomed to yielding to pedestrians, demonstrating the community's emphasis on pedestrian safety. The city's speed limits are strictly enforced, promoting a regulated and steady pace of travel that not only ensures safety but also contributes to a more environmentally friendly and calm driving environment. Drivers display a high level of respect for traffic regulations, as evidenced by courteous actions such as yielding the right-of-way and maintaining the appropriate following distance. When operating a vehicle from South Burlington car rentals, carefully follow the city's traffic rules.
  • In South Burlington, Vermont, rush hour usually leads to a challenging driving experience. Rush hour occurs during the weekdays from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The staff at the Burlington office were constantly interrupting working with a customer to argue with other customers who were dropping off keys. At one point there was a stand still where nothing happened for a couple of minutes, I was too fearful to ask what was happening with my car because I thought they might blow up. The car was filthy, my water bottle rolled on the floor and it was so covered with dirt. The front window was covered with something that was difficult to see out of. I had to stop at a gas station to wash the windows. I couldn’t believe how filthy the car was. I appreciate the the price and the drop off location was better.

No rental car was available at our pickup time. The attendant when we arrived was rude, repeatedly left the counter without explanation, and offered no compensation to get us to our hotel for the night, requiring us to get an Uber at our own expense. All this being said, the attendant when we did finally pick up the car the following day was very helpful, courteous, and accommodating of the situation.

The attendant at Burlington knew I was dropping off the vehicle in Paramus NJ, but tried to give me an EV with very little range, which would not have made the trip. I got her to give me a different vehicle, but she gave me a Mustang with rear wheel drive and not great tires. Unfortunately it snowed the that night and I almost could not make it out of Burlington because the roads were not plowed. Luckily it did not snow further south and I was able to make the trip. Rear wheel drive in Vermont in the Winter is never a good idea. Had I known it was so bad in the snow, I probably would have requested a different vehicle. Luckily I am a very experienced driver and was able adapt and navigate the slick roads without incident. However, the person at the drop off in NJ was great. He was very understanding and helpful. Great employee.

We arrived and they had a sign that said if you made your reservation 48 hrs ago (we made it at least a month prior) Or going one way (we were driving a total of 10-12 hours with 3 stops and in remote areas) they did not have a car. When we got to the counter, they said they didn’t even have any reservation for us at all! And when I asked what do we do? They said take an uber or a taxi. Really? We paid $65 to get to the ferry and had to figure out to get to Westport, NY , then Ticonderoga,NY, Williamsport, PA and eventually Philadelphia, PA And renting through another car r ed natal was not an option. There weren’t any cars anywhere. Stressful is an understatement.

The fact that the car rental location is actually a few miles from the airport, with no rental shuttle, is very annoying. The extra cost of the cab, etc. is rough on tired travelers with a final long drive ahead of them before they reach home. I'd like to see some improvements in convenience in this category. The actual car was fine, and we were pleased with the helpfulness of the young man in charge.
