Cons: This critique is for kayak! I had put the destination for pick up at the airport in Portland and somehow got redirected to a place that's 30 minutes away and I can't get to it to get my rental car. Enterprise unfortunately couldn't do anything for us and they did make the comment that kayak does that all the time when people reserve vehicles at the airport they redirect them to another place and the poor consumer is not even aware of it. I was very very upset and I am not going to use kayak again! I am also not going to recommend kayak to anyone as well!

Pros: Had to go over Mt Hood and chain's are required by law. But yet even asking for some got me no where. So I had to buy some that I will never use in my life. $100. Not to mention this was during the big winter storm we just had in Portland. I did fine with the 4 wheel drive I rented, which was a Jeep Patriot. Went around tons of stuck cars, up steep hills all no problem.

Pros: I was given misinformation and talked down too. I was no clear on the protocol for using a debit. When I told them I was not informed, the man said, 'we talked about this BUD'. Are you kidding me? Bud? I have a name and I am not a child. How innoppropriate. Is this the way customer service works when A customer is asking why he was not informed of proper information.
Cons: I dropped off the car in Tigard after hours, which is where I picked it up. I was expecting to get charged the extra day for doing so just like the representative stated if it was kept later than the allotted time. However, I received a call the next day, stating I owed more than $100 on the car. They added a drop fee. The man on the phone asked me 'where did you leave the car' I said 'where I picked it up. In Tigard.' He removed the charge. Thankfully. It was more hassle than it was worth and I ended up paying 3x the amount of money I was expecting to. Ridiculous. I'll never go back when I'm home visiting family. I refuse.
Cons: I searched rentals in Portland, Oregon airport and without knowing it ended up with rental car 45 minutes and $70 taxi ride away. (that is what came up on search and I did not notice that it said Tigard!)
My drop of time was at 5PM, but rental company said they close at noon and if I drop off at 5PM they will charge extra $80. They ended up charging extra $80 for airport drop off in the end. My original rental agreement said $8.80 in taxes and fees. Instead I was charged $88 in taxes. Overall cost went from $436 on my agreement to $604 actual!

Great service great price
Pros: Great service great price. Both the manager Ferron and the counter agent Miles went above and beyond to accommodate me with just the right car for my trip And at no time did they seem put off but seemed happy to give me the extra attention I also got an excellent rate by picking it up at this location I look forward to renting at this location again

Pros: Loved that the location of the rental place was right there at the airport.
Cons: I felt as if I were being gouged for every little thing- paying for another driver, for more coverage, for a bigger car, etc. It's never the amount you think it will be.

Cons: as two drivers under 25 (23 and 24) the sales people were extremely pushy about insurance on our rental even though we both have very good car insurance and didn't need it. It was a very long and frustrating process and the first price they tried to give us for our car was $600 more than we ended up paying for a week. I understand upselling but after being told 10 different times that we do not need any insurance, it got quite irritating.
Also rented a keep that was front wheel drive (because apparently no AWD or 4 wheel were available) and a massive snow storm hit while we were on vacation. We were told that the cars had all weather tires however there was no tread on our front tires.

Pros: The people at the rental car place were so nice! They gave my toddler son a cookie while we were doing paperwork and gave me a free upgrade! I will definitely rent from this location again!

Hertz was a nightmare
Pros: car was great, comfortable, but they gave it to us with less than a 1/4 tank of gas
Cons: the Hertz office in Tigard, OR was a nightmare, specifically Tamara, the branch manager-in-training. she was rude, was not even at the store when we arrived for pick up and blamed us for showing up an hour late, despite admitting we had a 2 hr window for pick up. She hung up on me when we chatted on the phone too. Hertz gave us no recourse for submitting a complaint, the complaint had to go through, you guessed it, Tamara. My mom is a lifetime Hertz member, but no more.

Pros: They took pictures of the car before departure - no written comments with lousy diagrams to rely on any more. An excellent idea to protect the person renting the car. They were also very nice dealing with return time since we had acquired the need to deliver someone to the train before we delivered the car. We were within the time window, but just the fact that they worked with us on time limits says a lot about their idea on service flexibility.
Cons: Windshield had a haze and the car smelled like air sanitizer used after smoking. Did not smell smoke - just something like citrus.

Cons: When I arrived to pick up the car I have reserved on Kayak the attendant screamed at me saying they didn't have any cars!!!!!
Pros: I needed a rental for about a week. Avis wouldn't let me extend my contract so I had to return the rental I had every few days-really annoying
The only thing I liked was the first and third rental
Cons: Didn't like how the price varies so much
Customer service guy was the rudest ever-throwing my credit card and contract across the counter, rude, not friendly. Also wasn't tuber two times so I had to wait and I'm 8 and a half months pregnant.
Overall would never use Avis again
Also overcharged my card at the end

Pros: It was quick. To fast.
Cons: The person handling the request was very rude!!! I mean he didn't answer any of my questions or concerns. On return he didn't even greet me and he was very vague what he was doing on computer. Didn't ask to why I was returning my rental so soon. I will never go or use their service at that location and won't even recommend them to anyone. What I went through was unacceptable. Very uncomfortable and left me with worries that I didn't have coming in.
Cons: I took the budget shuttle from the Portland airport because that is the airport I said I was flying into. When they took me to their airport location they said my reservation was at a place 40 minutes away.
Luckily, they were able to accommodate me with a vehicle but for TRIPLE the cost of what I made a reservation for. They said if I went through priceline or kayak this happens all the time. You are a joke. I will be reporting my experience to the better business bureau and never using your site again.

Pros: Nice car but they didn't have the cat I had requested despite booking it several months in advance.
Cons: Guy who served me seemed run off his feet and i seemed to be trying his patience when I asked questions or for fuller information about rental hire etc. Other than that he did his best to recompense me for not getting the car I had requested.
