My initial reservation was with an Enterprise location in Norfolk, VA. The DAY BEFORE I was to pick up the 15 passenger van, I received a call stating that the van was not available. No other help was offered. When I asked, "Are there are no 15 passenger vans available in all of Enterprise's locations?" The reply was, "That's correct." All the caller kept saying was, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I live in a small town which has no rental car agencies. We have to drive at least an hour one way to rent a vehicle. I found a 15 passenger van for rent at the Enterprise location at the Richmond, VA airport. That's 108 miles (one way) from where I live, but since 8 children were depending on me to take them to summer camp, I booked the van. From that point on, everything went well.

If I made a Reservation at a location why did it get changed and then I was charged a upgrade fee for no reason this was a difficult rental don’t think I’ll come back

Beware, they don't tell you until the last minute that you HAVE to have a credit card, regardless of whether or not your debit card works as a credit card... Pretty shitty experience from other enterprise locations, as had one of my buddies not had a credit card, we would have been stranded.

Hertz could not process the credit card hold on a separate card, the staff at the pickup location had an attitude from the start because I was right at the door as soon as they opened. Staff refused to assist me with finding a solution to our problem and strong armed me into cancelling my reservation made through kayak and made me rent a completely different car at a different rate because the one I had originally scheduled was now "unavailable" despite the fact that it was sitting outside. I will NEVER do business with hertz again.

Reserved. Full sized SUV. Hertz sold vehicle. But. Didn't bother to have. Same sized replacement vehicle to be reserved.Got to airport. They tried to rent a full size passenger car. We rented full size SUV from Avis with cheaper price .

The vehicles wasn’t cleaned before I received it. Smelled like old smoke which made my clothes smell bad and had about 15 used tissues in the center console.

I was only renting a vehicle to test drive a Tacoma or similar truck, which is what I reserved. When I went to pick it up they had no Toyota Tacomas or any other trucks because “lots of people wanted them” that day. What is the point of making a reservation if they will give away the vehicle you reserve to whoever walks up to the counter early in the day? I canceled the reservation and left. Very disappointed.

The car was dirty on the inside. Photos were taken. The doors on the inside were visually dirty. One window was so dirty it looked foggy. Also, a second reservation was needed at a different location b/c upon arrival, they had no cars.

They didn't tell me I was on their "Unable to Rent" list until I was at the airport counter with my family waiting for a car to take us on vacation. I guess there is something on my credit report I was unaware of that caused my name to be in their database. This is not proper or good communication during the rental process done weeks in advance. I promptly walked over to the Avis counter and had no trouble renting a car.

Cons:

They didn’t have convertible that I booked. I had planned it use as a photo prop with several different parties and had change everything. Not sure who’s at fault but taking 3 hours on a Saturday to go get the car only to find out less than 4 hours prior to the plans that it was not there!
