Worst Price I've ever paid!
Pros: Service was okay! I have never had to pay so much for a rental and I've rented for years!
Cons: The cost for the rental cars!

Cons: They are trying to charge me more then the original contract!!! I've emailed them to straighten it out but no response!!! Will never rent from them again!!!

Pros: The staff was okay and tried to helpful but since they released our car (we were late as our flight was delayed and out of our control) I was not very happy.
Cons: Our flight out of SF was delayed 2 hours and I did not realize we should have called to let them know. Wish we would have been informed of that. They released our car and only had two available huge vehicles left when we got there and I felt like we got gouged to just get a vehicle. She assured us we got a deal but going from $83 total for our 4 days we were well over $200 or what we could then get.

Cons: The man at the desk was very rude & condescending when I didn't choose to pay extra for all of the things he was trying to argue me into adding. I will not rent from them again. He made it a horrible experience for us.

Sell Sell Sell
Pros: Drop off was smooth and easy.
Cons: Up-sale items doubled the advertised price of the car. The car was dirty on the outside and stained on the inside.

Cons: They did not have any cars left when I arrived, nor did they have staff at the counter. There was just a sign explaining that they had run out of cars.

Pros: Inspect your car in daylight or your flashlight on your smart phone. They have you inspect and then if you find a ding you have to go back in and fill out paper. When you get back they use a flashlight to find the smallest item and then want to charge you $75.00 to avoid a possible much higher cost after it is inspected by an expert after you have gone home.
Cons: Attitude of employees was not very good, did not show that they care about the customer, only the company. They did not have the car I reserved and no "similar" cars. So I had to pay more than reserved.

Pros: Car was clean and I experienced no issues.
Cons: There was a SMALL snowscraper in the glovebox that I didn't find until after I bought a better one. I expected a brush given the daily snowfall in the WA/ID/MT area of my travel.

Could not be more disappointed
Cons: It was recommended to me that I upgrade my rental to a mid size car as Spokane was experiencing bad weather. While it was a good idea to upgrade the car I was given was not only known to be terrible in the snow (according to one of their own employees out in the lot) but the tires on the car were trash. I am from a state that receives regular snow fall and I am used to driving a regular front wheel drive vehicle in bad weather. The issue here was the tread on the tire was minimal. After a week of slip sliding around on flat roads and being the only car to do so I called Dollar with my frustrations and was told that the car and tires were fine and it had been inspected. Sidenote the car needed an oil change and had less then 8 percent oil life left on it at pick up. I returned the car and went with Enterprise. Still got a regular front wheel drive car and still drove on the same roads of snowy Spokane but no sliding because the tires actually had decent tread. Never again will I rent from Dollar.

Cons: Rented a full-size so I could fit my family and my snowboard. The car I got was a bare-bones rental-fleet Chevy Impala that did not have a fold-down rear seat (I assumed all cars have this feature). I asked for another full-size or mid-size (anything with a fold down rear seat) and got a tiny Ford Focus. Dollar did however give me a price-break for the downgrade after I asked.

Pros: Staff was helpful
Cons: Too many add ons. Charged additional fees to upgrade on top of higher rental charge. Didn't show up until final invoice and I had left town.

Cons: We were charged another $57.00 because there were no Economy cars available, and we were forced to go with an upgrade. Seems entirely unfair. I reserved an Economy car, but the rental agency at the airport didn't have any, and unless we wanted to rent a truck, we were forced to go with the upgrade. I thought that's why you make a reservation, to get the car you RESERVE.

I like the car we rented
Pros: The customer service took care of us very well. We got a great deal.
Cons: I had to learn how the new car worked. It's have a push Button start. I wish there was someone to show me how to work the car.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENT
Pros: Everything was fine until I present my VISA Card for payment at the counter at GEG. It has the word DEBIT on it. The fact that it carried the VISA name/logo didn't matter to him. Zero on public relations. Therefore, I was forced to go shopping elsewhere who took my VISA Card without question, uinfortunately at a higher rate. Will NOT utilized dollar rental services again.

Pros: When I got there is was raining hard and very over cast. I checked out the car and drove to my son's house. When he got into the car he noticed a little dent above the window. I checked it out and then looked at the area above the drivers window. It had similar marks but not a dent. It appears that a renter put a car top carrier on top of the car. I took a photo and then called Dollar and told them about it. When I turned in the car, I had the manager look, a Mr. Chris Carter, at the area I had called in about. He looked up the car and said no damage had ever been reported. I said it looked like old damage but when I asked him to put that into the report, he said, " I don't want to lose my job." I am afraid they are going to try and stick me with the damage even though I took a photo and called in when my son found it. I could use your help in getting this resolved. Thanks. Dick Goodnight 509-879-5947 The claims manager is Ryan Woods 509-924-9111 The damage was difficult to see and had I done it I wouldn't have called them and shown it to them.

Found a car despite difficult circumstances
Pros: I was able to find a great deal thru Kayak despite there being very low rental car availability. The car company honored the deal, and it was a good trip.
Cons: Not really a negative, just inconvenient: had to get a ride to the middle of town to pick up and return the car.

Pros: Good car, helpful Dollar representative
Cons: It wasn't clear upon my reservation through Kayak that the rental location was offsite from the airport. I had to spend $45 in Uber fees to be transported between locations for pickup and drop off.

Overall Good, but Misleading about Gas Prices in S
Pros: Check-in was relatively painless.
Cons: Slow service at the counter checking in. Worse was telling me that gas was significantly more expensive in Spokane than the fill up option, which it wasn't, so I ended up losing a little over $11 in that transaction.

Pros: Nothing in this experience was positive.
Cons: Car was not properly maintained. When I got in it, the tire pressure warning was in with no customer service person to assist. Took vehicle to local tire shop, one tier at 30psi, one at 40, one at 50, and one at 60. Pick up person not properly trained in job, drop off person was snotty. Took over 75 min to pick up vehicle.

Easy pick up and drop off with great value
Pros: I did not have to wait long in line since agents came out to assist as soon as they saw a line form. The extras offered were reasonable. I got a Subaru Forester that was clean and updated with Bluetooth and Pandora radio.

Couldn't Ask For Bette
Pros: I booked a compact car, but got a minivan. Great for hauling several folks around.
Cons: I guess the minivan got a "bit" less mpg then a compact car would have.

Customer service needs work
Pros: Everything went as planned as far as the rental and what I expected.
Cons: They need to do a better job setting clear expectations and disclosing what will happen if and should you hold the rental with a debit versus credit card. We were given misinformation on the hold for DC and it was held for double the amount discussed- not a very good way to start the deal. They then charged the entire amont of the hold and I had to wait several business days after the return of the car for the hold to release. When I called to find out what happened the service rep was incredibly rude, I haven't had a customer experience that poor in a long time. You could tell he didn't care about the job and probably has gotten fed up explaining the DC hold. This rep was frustrated from the get go we had to speak to his manager to get the confusion cleared up.

Great value, but...
Pros: The price was exactly what I was looking for, cheap. The car was clean both inside and out
Cons: I had to wait for 15 minutes when I picked up and dropped off because they only had 1 person working the counter. There were severel other people working but apparently couldn't check in or out a car. I've rented from Dollar and other companies in the past and the check out process took close to a half hour with the inspection of the car(I felt like they were looking for reasons to charge me more when I returned it), and all the paperwork.

They reneged on an advanced reservation.
Pros: What's to like when you get stranded?
Cons: They refused to find us an alternate car at amother carrier when they ran out of cars. The counter help said he was sorry and shrugged his shoulders each time I asked him for something he could do in lieu of nothing. What a shitty experience I'll not repeat. As someone who travels weekly for business, I'll be sure to never rent with Dollar after this charter experience, nor allow anyone from my team to do the same.
