Pros:Staff was wonderful, very helpful and quick.
Cons:I guess dollar thrifty and hertz are one company now. Staff was friendly but car was not ready. We finally got one loaded up and headed out. About half way to our destination we turned on the ac/heater. It only worked on high and then we got blown away. Also the stale odor of cigarettes started to permeate the car. The next day I took the car to another dollar location and exchanged it. The line was long and there were two people working. (Customers from other agencies were in and out and we barely moved.) A third person finally came out but one of the two left so still at two. When I got to the counter the gentleman was great. He could not apologize enough. . I could tell he was shocked about the smoke smell) The lady who was checking returned cars also was very nice and apologized also. It took too much time. It would have been nice for a reduction of the rate. The second car was much nicer so it might have been an upgrade
Pros:This was a no-hassle rental. No wait at the counter, no wait to get the car, no wait to return the car. Everyone we dealt with was polite and courteous. The car was clean and rode well.
Cons:The service was terrible. We checked in to get the car and that was smooth, but when that ended he told us to go sit down and wait for the car. Well, they have a terrible system in place, and we waited 45 minutes for the car. People who had gotten there after us, received their cars first. When I asked what was going on, they explained they were waiting for the mid grade size. Finally a girl saw how frustrated was, and had her boss upgrade us to a Hyundai Elantra. They really need to work on their system for getting cars to customers.
Pros:Incredible mileage from the car....just under 48mpg for the trip. Acceleration was adequate, brakes were good. Folks at the pick-up counter were excellent and efficient, as were the lot personnel were also excellent. This car was perfect for what I needed....basic transportation for pick up car/drive to meeting 60 mi away/drive back/turn in car. However, if I wanted a car for long term or a trip with family, I would have chosen a far different vehicle. I would definitely rent from Dollar again.
Cons:Uncomfortable seats with limited adjustment. Noisy. Overly-sensitive steering.. Sensitive to side winds. Awful sound system.
