We waited in line for 90+ minutes to get our car. Management didn't give us any information. It turns out they didn't have enough cars and fortunately, my family got the last one for several hours. No empathy or consideration for customers just standing in line.

Pick-up at SYR ok but staff impatient and clearly not happy doing the job. Drop-off at JFK confusing and a hassle. Signs lead to a former Dollar lot where you are then redirected to the Hertz lot. Plus airport under construction. Very stressful. They should get their signage right.

Cons:

There was a huge line at the counter, and a long wait to pick up my car. I was supposed to get a full size car but the only car they had left was a compact. Awful experience!

Pros:

Staff was nice. However they helped as little as possible, but over all the experience was. Okay.

Cons:

The vehicle had a sticker on the door saying it was cleaned. A baby sock was found in the back hatch area, which should have been easily found if cleaned. The worst part was a strong odor coming from the driver side back seat. Terrible smell, I drove straight from NY to Fl. When I got home my wife told me it smelled like baby vomit or spilt formula.

GEORGE THE MANAGER located on Burnet Ave in Syracuse cancelled my reservation after I said I need a van to travel to Florida. He said he could get me something similar, such as an 8 passenger SUV.. I told him that this would not work because we are relocating to Florida. I said cancel the SUV and George cancelled the entire reservation. I was so pissed off that used some expletive's toward George at the end of our conversation but nevertheless he could have tried to help me right from the beginning, as a opposed to being indifferent and a care less attitude. So in the end your company lost out on a one way van rental to Naples Florida in the approximate amount of 674.00. Furthermore now that I am retired and can afford to travel, I will never do business with hertz again

Pros:

Being able to drop off the rental after hours was a great help.

Cons:

We had rented a cargo van about 10 days earlier from the same location and the total experience was excellent. This time it was somewhat disorganized. This was partly due to having a brand new employee process our rental. He was very polite and very nervous - especially when things didn't go as he'd expected. He will be fine with experience. Assistance from management wasn't particularly good, but I don't know why that was the case. But the pick up process was not as smooth as it was previously. It took longer than I'd expected based on prior experience.
