Enjoyed swimming laps in their clean pool Nice assortment of foods for breakfast Clean, quiet rooms
Like a small apartment. Separate bedroom, living and kitchen area. Clean, good maid service. Great for an extended stay if needed. Not sure of prices for a longer stay, for a few nights, similar to other hotels. Free breakfast and some snack food at 5:30 pm social hour. Free laundry facilities. Small and limited fitness room.
The size and functionality of the room. When myself and my guest arrived, there was NO ONE at the front desk to greet us. It took more than 10 minutes for us to find someone to help us. When the front desk person arrived, they were less than courteous to myself and the rest of the line up waiting to talk to someone. I felt as if our check in was rushed and that the inconvenience that I felt while waiting was not properly addressed.
Room was clean and close to downtown for the race. Staff was very cheerful and very helpful.
Great customer service from Heather at front desk. Fixed a reservation problem quickly and pleasently.
The shuttle driver was excellent. Gave us a ride to and from the mall for a comedy club and then recommended a nightclub for us to go to. Very friendly! The room was directly over the pool and it was extremely hot in our room, and there was no air conditioning. We opened the window, but too late.
The breakfast was great. Staff at egg station is very friendly and happy. The hotel is dark inside, needs more lights to make it feel alive and not so dull.
happy hour breakfast resturant Room housekeeping room size Room coffee machine
I liked the feeling of the place...the staff was very nice and helpful and the good was excellent...the room was great and there were no problems The bathroom was a little small and there was no fan
good price with good buffet breakfast minutes from the thruway large accomodating suit nice atmosphere
Cooked breakfast. Facility is showing some aging. Missing coffee making ingredients in room. Noisy location (right next to thruway).
Reception and breakfast were actually decent Plumbing backup flooded our bathroom. We had flies and fruit flies in our room. We booked this hotel because it had a hot tub, but that wasn't working. They didn't put up an out of order sign even though they knew it was broken. No towels in pool area. They didn't uphold no-children in pool area after 10Pm. Just a lot of disappointments.
Nice, spacious with a great breakfast!! Didn't care much for the front desk staff. They were never available everytime we tried reaching them by phone.
The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. Also the service was outstanding. The staff was very helpful and brought anything that was needed. Very quiet and comfortable rooms A bit noisy in the common areas as the pool is enjoyed and used by the children that are there.
The rooms are very spacious. Bed was comfortable. The courtyard is fantastic, it's so pleasant with the little stream running through. Good breakfast, omelette station was a plus. Staff upon arrival was very hospitable (fitting for the industry). Pool area had holes in the ceiling. Otherwise, everything seemed pretty maintained. My only other complaint is that the fire alarm went off at 6am and scared the heck out of myself and my partner. Went off for a good 5-10 minutes and as we were heading outside was shut off. When I was checking out that afternoon, the girl at the front desk just half-apologized and said the kitchen cleaners did it. I know it wasn't her fault, but pretend that you care about waking up 100+ guests with an air raid style alarm. It's hospitality 101.
Value. Staff was very friendly. Good location close to dining, shopping, etc.
The Baymont is really not bad for the value. You get a free breakfast, free WIFI, and a free gym so that's all nice. It's usually quiet and the people who stay there don't cause any trouble. Since you aren't paying a lot for a room, you shouldn't expect anything amazing. I can't say I've had a horrible experience here but we couldn't help thinking that our bed wasn't clean. In addition, they didn't even give us a top sheet for the bed and the fitted sheet was on upside down so we just got a weird vibe. Like I said, it's not horrible, but it's not very comfortable since you don't know how clean the hotel is
Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Cozy comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Convenient location. Parking was tight.
Clean Noisy. You could hear all the doors closing. The maid service knocked several times very early in the morning on nearby rooms and was very loud. Someone attempted to open our dor n then ran away despite do not disturb sign
Professional & courteous staff, modern & clean rooms, convenient location
The best deal you can get in Syracuse. Nothing
The room itself was great - big comfy bed, mini kitchen which included a toaster, microwave, fridge, pots and pans, and utensils. The double head shower was also very clean. They have a shuttle service that picks you up and takes you places within a 2mile radius which is great except it takes 30 min to come get you and then sometimes if it already has passengers it takes you all the way out to the airport when you just had to walk 10min. The breakfast wasn't anything great.. They had lots of options but everything was very bland, typical hotel food. I was sick for a full day because the milk I had was bad even though it hadn't expired. I think it might have been left out to spoil just a little too long.
Room clean and good size. Staff very nice. Breakfast was good Had Internet connection problems which were a real inconvenience
The updates to the hotel are fantastic.
The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The hotel had a pool which unfortunately closes at 10PM but also a fitness center which is open 24/7. I would highly recommend staying at Maplewood Inn Syracuse. The pool closes at 10PM which isn't really a big deal.
We were very impressed with the hotel. Everything was very clean and the breakfast in the morning was delicious - you can make your own fresh waffles! The kitchenette area was wonderful, even though we didn't cook, we used some of the utencils. The hotel is right off of the highway, so it's perfect for an overnight stay while on a roadtrip (which is what we did)! Thank you :) Syracouse is sketchy and doesn't seem to have much to offer aside from the outlets but that is not the hotel's fault.
Friendly, professional staff; wonderful complimentary breakfast to include freshly made omelettes and Starbucks coffee; indoor pool, fitness room, and guest laundry; extremely comfortable beds. There was a large, loud group who checked in towards the end of our stay and were very loud and unruly all hours of the day or night. The hotel was very apologetic to us and offered us many complimentary options to resolve the matter as well as monitor and attempt to control the other party.
Vert Comfortable beds easy access to highway net work, a very good associated restaurant good parking would stay their again The breakfast facilities are appaling if you were staying with a family this would be a put off. it would be better if they can persuade the restaurant to do breakfasts
The hotel had a pool, which my children enjoyed! We also liked the food in the lobby! Overall it is a great place to stay!
Room was neat & clean; nice linens and a huge rain shower stall. Close to SU and University Hospital. Continental breakfast is not offered nor included in room price. Parking costs extra. In a small market like syracuse, these should be included in the room price.
Location to restaurants and entertainment. Rooms are outdated and not clean. Bathroom had mold around toilet and shower. Customer service - Upon check in, I explained the wrong room was given to us, as the confirmation showed how many and what type of bed we should have. They did not care and told me the room I had was correct. Upon checkout, my credit card was charged for the room, even though I had paid through a booking site. I explained this to the woman at the desk, and she said since they could not find record of payment, she would not refund me. Instead of trying to satisfy me by making a simple phone call to the booking site, she told me I had to do the work and contact the booking site to find out details and then contact her to get the refund.

The staff was amazing. Great people. The fridge was noisy & the walls are pretty thin.

The room included two double beds as well as a pull out sofa. Could possibly sleep 6.
Nicely decorated clean room. Air conditioning worked quickly and efficiently. Variety of breakfast choices. Would stay here again. No

Requested room with window NOT facing east. Got one WITH window facing east. check out person didn't ask how my stay was, was surprised I wanted a copy of my bill
Although I had no complaints, I would not choose to pay that much for a room again. And I would have preferred a couch with King format except they would not allow me to book that for our four-person family. So the three girls had to sleep in the queen!
Staying with kids it is great to have a pool, plus the in room fridge and microwave is also helpful.Breakfast was typical but convenient We stayed for 2 nights and they did not clean our room.
Staff was very friendly and helpful (switching our room when a more desirable one was available, quickly replacing our broken hair dryer within a matter of 5 min). Hotel lobby is very modern.
it was conveniently located for an overnight stay on a long driving trip. The bed was a bit too hard for me, but my husband was happy and slept well,
Amazing hotel!! My friends and I stayed here while on a shopping trip to Destiny USA from Canada. The location was excellent, not right on the highway and in a quiet location. Still only 12 minutes away from mall. The staff were so friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and nice, it was the only hotel that I could find in the area that had two queen beds in a room for our group of four. The beds and pillows were so comfortable! The restaurant in the hotel was reasonably priced and had healthy options. We will always be staying at this hotel during our yearly visit to Syracuse!
Price was good, and the breakfast wasn't exactly the Ritz Carlton, but hey, it saved me from having to get one on the road. Everything I asked for--an iron, a hair dryer--was provided with a smile. The iron they happily provided leaked all over my clothes. It was a pain. And I took off the pillow case to use as a layer of protection between the crazy leaking iron and my clothes and the cleanliness of the pillow was greatly called into question.
Great location, very friendly staff. Clean sheets and good air conditioning. tv worked well as well as the water was nice and cold Bed squeaked and was very uncomfortable with springs prodding me in my back. Old outdated rooms that are quite small and very loud. Drapes didn't work good at all. Bed was extremely thin and low to the ground.
Dirty, old hotel room with terrible bed and barely existent pillows. I didn't want to touch anything. Really unclean
Nothing Old tv small. 2 small pillows. Smelled like a hospital
The staff gave me a discount on my small dog in the room as I was there for a dog show. They called when I got to my room to make sure it was clean and ok or they would have given me another room. Room was clean, no odors, neat. Bed was very comfortable.
The floors were dirty, all the common areas were dirty. I looked like a cheap motel. I did not expect that from the pictures online. The continental breakfast was lame. I would never stay there again!
Great location. Good value for money. Clean rooms. Didn't like the cigarette smoke in the passage. It was a put off.
I liked that it was close to grocery store and restaurants I did not like how cold the room was upon entry, that the lobby reeked of marijuana, the sheets seemed dingy, the bathroom was dirty, curtains were ripped
Small and clean, off the main highway. The hotel does not come up on GPSs, so make sure you have an idea of another location near by for driving directions (Ruby Tuesday, or Justin's Grill works). Breakfast is a bagel or muffin with coffee or juice, not fancy, but surprisingly included with such a low price.
Staff, spa, room were all excellent Not a thing
The staff is very friendly, the lobby very welcoming and the breakfast is quick and offers a wide variety. The one tiny elevator that carries everyone to the 2nd and 3rd floor. No recycling!
We arrived late just before 10PM and checked the website before we got there to make sure the restaurant would be open. The website said their hours that night were until 11PM but they refused to prepare any food for us saying they closed at 10.
The bedrooms we had were excellent They had not got our booking correct for either our arrival or departure! They seemed to imply it was our fault but it was sorted with out too much delay
Room cleanliness was great Love their chocolate cookie gift upon check in and the candy bar in the room Very convenient off 90 thruway Cost was great for location and overall hotel quality Thank you for complimentary breakfast buffet Mattress comfort & quality was Just OK The restaurant is to the left of the front hotel entrance and there was loudness I stayed on the Hilton Honors level and noticed the noise level adjacent to my room and one level below. More sound-proofing needed
Hot tub and pool are great, well stocked with towels. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. No vending machines or options for food. They had limited drinks at the front desk that were overpriced, and the restaurant served breakfast that also seemed kind of steep.
The location was perfect. We were going to an event at The Stage. Upon arrival the lobby was beautiful and the staff very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with all of the necessities. We ate both dinner the menu was amazing with variety of vegetarian meals. Breakfast as well. With such a beautiful lounge we ate there both meals. All of these things were of great quality but the staff is the shinning star of the hotel. The front desk clerk who always had a smile and a welcoming word to the shuttle driver and all of the wait staff!! The business end of the bathroom was a little worn.
Lobby Incredible food Torn shower curtain Long walk for retired Air Force disabled vet, not enough disability parking near entrance
Ease of parking.Comfortable beds. Had to ask multiple times for a refrigerator in room when I previously confirmed a refrigerator would be in room at checkin. Needed more staff at front desk.
For a "king suite" it was a very average room-may as well opt for a cheaper room. It seems one half of the hotel is way nice than the other-but it's still nice.
The pool heater was broke and both the jacuzzi and pool were DISGUSTING! The breakfast was a joke! And I had to take a shower in another room because our tub wouldn't drain. The air conditioner felt like it was on its last leg. Never again! Don't bother with this hotel. What a waste of money!
Convenience to temporary work When I arrived TWO of the desk clerks told me that a small conference room would be available for me the next day to meet a client. The clerks said this conference room was open to guests free of charge on a first come first serve basis. Later on the "Asst Manager" told me it was fully booked for the weekend. During the weekend I walked by the glass doors several times, and never saw a soul in it. First two days of my five day stay, housekeeping did not even touch my room.
Hotel is good. Staff is great. They helped me out of a major problem when my car would not start. Syracuse weather.
The room reaked of smoke. Asked for another room and was rudely helped
Noisy heating system... Old and warn out
It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is outdated and a little eery.
Quick and easy check in Good location right off the highway
Great customer service and comfortable stay.
The staff and everything being available at this hotel for a small price. I loved the bed and TV, and it was quite a nice stay for the price that I paid. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised.
Great price, clean, and a free continental plus breakfast daily. Rooms have nice big adjustable flatscreen TVs if your stuck inside. Location is not within walking distance of too many things unless you go further than a mile. Minimal facilities, but to be expected at the price.
Room air conditioning was great. Mattress and pillows suprisingly comfortable. The shower was hard to regulate - but the water stream was strong enough.
The room was very clean and the service/breakfast was great. It was also in a great location beside a gas station that has very cheap gas relative to the other I-90 gas stations. Great place to stop if you're traveling through and want to refuel and/or stay the night. The facilities and furniture were very dated--a bit overpriced for the quality of the facilities. Also, we were driving a moving truck/tow car, and there was nowhere to easily park the truck or to exit without backing up (which is very difficult with a large moving truck and car tow).
Great price, Every thing was fine, very clean. Bed and pillows were great. Enjoyable stay.
Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Continental Breakfast had no yogurt options.
Very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Short drive to everywhere we went Decor dated but we didn't really care and we just needed a place to stay for one night after a concert.
Everything was fine. No issues at all. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Nothing to note.
Expected a three star hotel, and felt that it fell short.
The reason I scored it badly was because I was also charged for the stay in addition to paying on Priceline and I had to request a refund. This is a mistake that should not happen.
Spent three weeks in the area and enjoyed my stay. Wonderful breakfasts, lovely pool, homey rooms, quiet and well kept. Will stay again next year!
Very spacious rooms with kitchen facilities as well. No
Kept up with the Marriott standard of customer service, Our air conditioning was not working but they immediately resolved it and moved us. They also offered to help move our luggage if we needed it. Good customer service.
room size and configuration no
Location-close to Syracuse University, easy accessibility. ie parking free. Preservation of historic bldg.-beautiful job. "Green" renovation-ecologically responsible No actual dining room available, just a café/bar in lobby.
Lovely airy decor, modern yet comfortable atmosphere. Coming in late at night, I felt like I was retuning to a family member's home who had left the light on for me. The fact that it was a "green" hotel was an added benefit, but it certainly did not feel I was sacrificing anything. I also want to add that even though we were in a busy neighborhood, our room was very quiet. I had no complaints at all.
Very nice and clean hotel in a unique building. Super convenient to Syracuse University; just a short walk up to Marshall Street and less than 10 minutes to the Dome. Rooms were spacious enough, even for a family of 4. All staff were helpful and very nice. Interesting lobby too. And if you stay for a football or basketball game then the on-site free parking is an additional bonus. Bathrooms were a little dark and the showers are European style (only half a door!) Bar seemed to close early.
We stayed at Hotel Skyler on a visit to Syracuse University with my son. It was within walking distance to the campus and the local area had plenty of dining options to discover. (Try Laci's Tapas Bar if you want fabulous food and wine on your stay.) The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and provided a warm, easy check in. The facilities had a chic, simple, modern decor that was immaculate and comfortable. Two minor items I would have liked to see at the hotel were an in room coffee maker (but they did provide complimentary coffee in the lobby) and later hours for the bar/restaurant (they have a snack stand available until 2 a.m.). I would definitely come back and stay again.
Great location, very nice breakfast included, love the fact that it's a LEED Platinum building. Room was nicely equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Just wish it had a hot tub for relaxing! Shower was interesting - no door and only a half-wall for privacy. It was just the two of us so it was fine, but could be more challenging if traveling with teens or anyone who prefers privacy.
Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.
Staff was great, location was great and the green initiative was is fantastic. Room was comfortable and quiet.
They are rightfully proud of the energy savings and material recycling designed into this wonderful ex-temple. Rooms are spacious and unique, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place when visiting Syracuse.
