Did not originally plan on getting a rental car for our trip but Uber prices for the family just to go a few miles away were so expensive. Finding an affordable rental car in short notice did not excite me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Although we were dropped off at the wrong Hertz location, we could not have been more leased with the team in Ft Walton Beach at the Preston Hood Chevrolet dealership. . Great service, great price and solid vehicle. I will rent from this location the ext time we visit Destin.

Pros:

The drop off at Little Rock was very quick and convenient.

Cons:

Our registration was for a Ford Focus....instead we ended up w/a much smaller Ford Fiesta. Instead of asking us numerous questions upon arrival, they could have read over our confirmation....it was almost all asked while we registered.

Pros:

Check in person was friendly.

Cons:

Location is Far from airport. No taxis or ubers available to get there. Expensive to get to rental location. Took a long time for Enterprise to get my car once I finally found a way there. Smelled smoky, finally found a Used Cigarette on the floor in back seat. Overall not a good experience.

Cons:

Car not clean, No shuttle service ($40.00 taxi). Also could not return car to airport without a charge of $150.00. Another taxi back to airport (just $25 this trip). Has anyone from corporate checked the condition of the office?

I was informed that ALL rental agencies were closed at my airport when my plane was expected to arrive. They were ALL OPEN!

Cons:

I reserved a Jetta more than a month out from my vacation. I go to pick up my car. They tell me that they are giving me an upgrade to a 2 door mustang convertible. They don’t have anything else. I have a family of 4 with 2 car seats. The car was a pain to put 2 kids in car seats and luggage for 4 people. I don’t have much confidence in enterprise for my next visit.

Pros:

The dude at the dropoff was super nice and friendly. He stated they were understaffed and worked very hard to help us as quickly as possible.

Cons:

The vehicle had been recently smoked in. it smelled terrible. My son and wife asked multiple times to have the windows rolled down to get some fresh air inside. Very disappointing on SUPER hot days.

Faster ok up. Enterprise "claim to fame", is their hospitality pk up, I understand vacation resorts traffic, however, 3 hrs. IS punishing and poor business decisions...

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.

The whole experience has been bad. You're still charging me for stupid tolls. Both pick up and delivery person were not cool

The rental location was extremely hard to find. The car was not available at our reservation time, so we waited 3 hours to pick it up. We were assured that the car had wi-fi, but it did not. The GPS system was mediocre and in French. Turning the car in was extremely difficult with no staff person at the garage. In summary, the worst car rental experience I have ever experienced!!!

Had to wait 20 min for a Bidget shuttle while 7 (yes seven) shuttles for Alamo, Enterprise and almost every other rental car passed by. When we got to the rental car building the line to rent wrapped clear around the building. Serious 75 yard long line. It was unbelievable, the longest I’ve ever seen for a rental co. And it moved at a snails pace. Hours. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable
