MAJOR RIP OFF
Cons: My flight was delayed by 2 hrs; I went to pick up the car and the facility was closed- it was around 2pm on Saturday afternoon. I had a very difficult time trying to resolve the issue. The reservation should have listed the hours of service particularly as this area is a resort area. Later (4:25 pm on 6/10/17) I was able to speak with someone named 'Gan' who said the reservation was cancelled. Returned from vacation yesterday to find that I was charged for the reservation.

Fort Walton Beach
Pros: Cheyenne was very friendly and helpful at pickup and dropoff. The car was clean. Rental was good value for time frame and cheaper than renting from the airport. Even with having to take taxi or uber to/from the airport, cheaper option than renting at the airport.
Cons: The brakes in this car. When you went to apply the brakes, it was not smooth as in other vehicles, and took couple times to get used to Have Hyundai Sonata, so I did not expect this vehicle which was a different model Hyundai to have such a different pressure when applying the brakes. Did not have back up camera which would have been useful since used to that. Did not realize the rental was not at the airport. Had to take taxi from rental back to airport, since received errors for UBER. Took Uber from airport to rental location.

Cons: The car the bottom of the class for a vehicle. This is not what I have recieved from other car rental companies that I have rented from. There was no one there to review the car for damage. Just a woman at the desk who sent us on our way. The defrost was slow to start and we were in a humid climate, so had to wait to leave in the morning and evenings.

Pros: The counter person was so nice, friendly and helpful. The car handled well. The price was fair. Thank you.
Cons: When I returned the car, I had to use a return box. Instructions weren't clear and I returned my receipt also. When I picked up the car, it was after midnight ( my flight was delayed), so I walked out to the car by myself. When I got to the hotel, I noticed a dent in the front passenger fender. I wouldn't have seen it at the darker parking lot. I worried that the rental company would think I did it. Then I looked at the paper work I was given and there was a picture of the car with a capital D and a circle on the front fender. I would have liked to have been told that ahead of time. Thank you

Pros: Car was immaculately clean and low miles, and the Hertz agent was extremely friendly and helpful despite our late-night pickup which had to be near the end of her shift.

Cons: Car was beaten up looking, damaged both front and rear. It had an awful vibration at highway speeds from apparently unbalanced tires.

Horrible Customer Service!
Cons: They will charge you an extra $13.00/ day for your spouse to be added as a driver. When I canceled my reservation, they tried to charge me 100 dollars for canceling before my reservation. What a scam.

Pros: Car was ready for pickup
Cons: Customer service and intimacy clearly needed improvement. No attempt to engage with the customer or extend any friendliness or greeting. This was the same behavior with the same person at both pick up and drop off. I would not rent from here again. I will use a competitor instead.

Pros: The car
Cons: I booked a car a week before I left Pittsburgh at a very good price ($186. and change). Unfortunately, the day we left, Pittsburgh had a snowstorm (the first for the Pittsburgh 2016-17 winter in FEBRUARY). Our plane was 1.5 hours delayed due to Pittsburgh deicing the plane. In the meantime unknown to me (because I am either sitting on the plane as it deices or in flight) Hertz called my home wondering where I was. My daughter told Alisha (Hertz sales associate) we were delayed BUT were on our way. My daughter told Hertz we had no way to communicate due to being in the air and having our phones on airplane mode as directed by the airlines BUT we were on our way! Once I was off the plane, I received a txt from my daughter letting me know to pick up the car by 6 before closing. We arrived at 5 (4 hours late) expecting our car. We were told by Alisha the car was rented and that we now would have to pay $100.00+ extra for a car. It was truly like a Seinfeld episode! We asked to speak to the manager, which we did by phone. He was not willing to honor the contract until we asked to speak to his boss. At that point, he agreed. It will be a long time before we book with Hertz again. That Destin, FL franchise was not willing to work with us at all and it felt more like a bait and switch. There are many good car rental companies that are around the Destin area. It is sad that Hertz's integrity and reputation was tarnished by one poorly run AND UNFRIENDLY franchise.

Great airport customer service
Pros: I thought I had reserved a car at the Destin, Fort Walton Beach airport. After the agent couldn't my reservation they discovered it was at an alternate site. Not wanting to take a cab to the other location they gave me the same rate I had on the other reservation. Thank you Hertz.
Cons: The location for the rental was not at the airport. It did not state that in the priceline listing.

Cons: I had a bad experience with Hertz. All I asked is that I got a new clean car. They gave me a car that was dirty and smelled like smoke. I had to go back to the counter that was not close with two suitcases and wait in line again. All to be given a car with stains all over seat and dirty. It also had a msg that said needs air in the tires. I got on the highway and the service light came on. They never apologized once. They never asked if there were any significant dents or scratches!!! I would not recommend using Hertz at the Ft. Walton Airport!!!

Screwed me good
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: I booked a rental at the airport I was arriving at. I get there at 11pm go up to the rental counter and she has no record of me at all. The lady at the counter then does a system search and finds out you screwed me royally and my rental was booked at a Hertz in the same town as the airport and that location closed at 6pm. I was stranded at an airport that had no cell service an hour an a half from my destination. I ended up having to pay a taxi to drive me late at night all the way to where i was going. I lost so much money from booking a rental from Hertz, never again will I use Hertz

Pros: good car--easy to pick up
Cons: we forgot to fill it up--visiting and talking with loved ones--had a 1/4 of tank--charged 100.00 for Hertz to refill. highway robbery--why not look and ask would you like to fill this up ?

Pros: Picking the car up was easy.
Cons: The car was out of wiper fluid and a rear window trim piece fell out and hit us twice when we opened the rear hatch. It sat in the back of the car most of the week we had the car. When leaving for the airport to return the car, we had to put our luggage in and push the trim piece on and quickly slam the rear hatch to avoid it falling out again. I called the Ft Walton Beach Hertz to inform them about the trim piece falling out and all they said was, I will make a note about it. The attendant named Jeff who greeted us in the return lot, took $25 off our bill. Nice but not enough to compensate for the hassle we had all week!

Incompetent, painfully un-motivated employees
Cons: Taking nearly an hour to simply rent a car. I have multiple charges on my credit card that aren't accounted for. I've spent hours dealing with horrible customer service agents on the phone and have gotten nowhere. I will never recommend these services to anyone and will continue to spread the word on how disgusted I am with there lack of professionalism.

Pros: The Car was very clean, comfortable and got really good gas mileage. The lady at the desk was super nice.
Cons: It had a really strong cigarette smell. It would be great if you good choose non- smoking cars.
