Enterprise booked my reservation for noon on October 5. Their branch closed at noon. When I called at 11:45 to let them know that I would be a few minutes late as taking our luggage took longer than anticipated, they told me to try to switch my reservation to a different enterprise branch without making any calls for me or helping in any way. I contacted another branch who let me know that they were completely out of cars and wouldn’t be able to accommodate me. When I called back to the branch that I originally booked with around 12:05, I was greeted by an automated voicemail that told me that the branch was closed and to call back during normal business hours. I called back as soon as the branch opened the next day, and they let me know that they had cancelled my original reservation and that they wouldn’t be able to honor my initial rate. Very frustrating experience that left my family without a rental for > 24 hours and cost us a fortune in Ubers.

Minivan

The staff was very nice and tried to be accommodating. The first problem we encountered was the location was not at the airport where we thought it was. We had to take a long taxi ride for six of us to the second enterprise location, of course we had to pay for that. I traveled with my three daughters, my wife and my mother-in-law. We had a lot of luggage for our 10 day trip to Florida.. When we got there, we were told the minivan that we reserved was not available and they wanted to upgrade us into an SUV. That was not acceptable because it didn’t have the storage space for our luggage that the minivan would have. But we had no other option so we fit in the back as Much as we could and each family member had their carry on bag in their lap. The vehicle was not cleaned very well and the tank was empty.

Check in person was friendly.

Cons:

Location is Far from airport. No taxis or ubers available to get there. Expensive to get to rental location. Took a long time for Enterprise to get my car once I finally found a way there. Smelled smoky, finally found a Used Cigarette on the floor in back seat. Overall not a good experience.

agent at the office couldn't change the hours or find a vehicle for me so I was forced to make a 2nd reservation. Experience was miserable and I received nothing just paid you for nothing. I will never rent a car through kayak again and wouldn't recommend you to others either.

KAYAK let me book a 530 pick up when the pick up location closed at 500. They gave away my car thinking I was a no show. Luckily the ppl at Hertz got me in a vehicle within a day or so, but I will never book through Kayak again. The Hertz side of the rental was Great.

I didn't like anything. You guys should be ashamed. A death in the family prevented us from taking our trip....not that anyone in your organization cares. Phone numbers provided went unanswered when dialed...then disconnected. You're only mandate appears to be making money at the expense of customers and making sure they get a total runaround when trying to salvage a horrific personal tragedy. Way to go Kayak. You made a couple hundred bucks on this one and you didn't even have to provide a service...way to go! I shall never use Kayak, or Hertz again for anything, and neither will my large extended family. I will implore as many people as I can influence not to use you.

Did not originally plan on getting a rental car for our trip but Uber prices for the family just to go a few miles away were so expensive. Finding an affordable rental car in short notice did not excite me, but I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Although we were dropped off at the wrong Hertz location, we could not have been more leased with the team in Ft Walton Beach at the Preston Hood Chevrolet dealership. . Great service, great price and solid vehicle. I will rent from this location the ext time we visit Destin.

Disappointing. The car broke down on the side of the highway 3.5 hours into a 14 hour drive. The roadside assistance department couldn’t come up with a solution any sooner than 6 hours of waiting on the roadside. I self-rescued and after securing a refund, Avis customer service did nothing to make up for the fact that their primary charter of renting a safe reliable car failed and had no compassion or interest in making up for the inconvenience and delays.

Pros:

We asked specifically for a car that seated 8 and we got a car that seated 7. There were no cars that seated 8 so someone had to ride illegally and unsafe the entire trip.

Cons:

The lady that helped at Pickup was not helpful on instructing drop off after hours. The car stunk. And giving people the amount of seating they request is pretty vital.

Pros:

Staff at the counter were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Our car's lift gate was not working properly. It would open and then shut. We were not going to ruin our vacation by taking it back to Budget to let them take time out of our vacation to fix. Thankful someone did not get hurt. Car needed to be checked over before releasing it to customers.

It was quick. The drop off was easy.

Cons:

The Budget rep forced me to “upgrade” at the ticket counter since I was dropping the car in another location. (That was known when I placed the reservation.) She tried to get us to pay more for car I reserved or more for an upgraded car. I declined. She then said I had to pay for XM radio at $6 per day or the car I reserved couldn’t leave the lot. I was tired from traveling so we just swallowed it. When we got to the car, it had been smoked in, damaged on the body, and had 56k miles at the start.
