Pros:

My favorite car rental company in Fremont. They are SO nice. Service still matters.

Cons:

Only wish they had more weekend hours and more cars available. Prices are sometimes not as good as I think they could be.

Seemed pretty simple to book

Cons:

The vehicle - a Nissan Frontier, i booked wasn’t available because they said the online stock of vehicles isn’t always accurate. They left me no choice to but to spend about $15 more on a big Dodge 2500 pickup truck to go biking. The truck is way too big for the purpose I needed and cost of fuel to power the monster is way higher then necessary. My whole point of renting vehicles is because I have other ways to commute to work so I don’t need a car on the day to day. I’m trying to be eco-conscious, so having behemoth of a vehicle for a single person to go ride a mountain bike is ridiculous.

Staff was amazing and pick-up and drop-off instructions were very helpful and easy. I was very pleased with my interactions with staff members and felt they did a great job!

Cons:

I was disappointed in the selection of vehicles I was able to rent. I had paid for an intermediate SUV and was given an option between a small one and an intermediate one. I went with the intermediate Nissan Rogue because I was told that it both radar cruise control and apple car play, both of which I asked for when renting the vehicle. Unfortunately, neither of those features were available on the vehicle I rented and I ended up driving almost 2000 miles without them. I was disappointed in the comfort of the ride and the lack of features of the vehicle and won't be renting from Hertz in the future.

They didn't have the car we requested. They gave a "free" upgrade but required us to pay added fees. It took longer to pick up the car as they had many unhappy customers waiting.

Kiosk to check out car was quick way to avoid long line. Cars were clean. Price wasn't bad.

Cons:

DON'T RENT A YARIS for freeway driving. Car rattled and struggled over 55 mph. Had to return it and was surprised when agent said - yeah, not great on freeway. THIS IS CA! You can't avoid the freeway! Though we have a HERTZ in my town had to go to airport because it isn't open on Sunday or Holiday. Would have liked to return to another location, would have cost hundreds to do so!

Cons:

*No pick up from home even though I requested it a week in advance. *Customer service person put me on hold over 10 minutes. *Crappy customer service, the kiddies were running the shows.

Called in advance if I could have 30 minutes grace period for returning, they said ok. When I arrived, the guy behind the counter gave me the silent treatment for about 5 minutes, then said " you're late " I explained that I called, but didn't matter to him. He says they could charge me for additional day- he was really indignant. Most rental companies will give an hour or so grace, but this guy would have none of it, even after I called ahead.

The night before they were going to take my credit (chime credit not bank) . My son was stuck in Florida with his four year old. They wouldn’t rent it me, my. Ex husband went with exact same kind of card. And they rented go figure!

It was honestly one of the easiest car rental experiences in my life of travel. Flying into Hot Springs I knew it was a small airport. But, it was really easy to get to and from terminal from rental counters. My only critique, and this critique applies to a lot of airports, there needs to be better signage indicators. I took a wrong turn on my way off the flight to the rental car counters. That’s not on Alamo. But, perhaps they have some influence with that.

I prepaid but was forced to buy standard liability insurance despite me telling them I have my own insurance and declining it. The lady said it is mandatory in Texas. Came to know that was a lie. Also I booked with Visa credit card and it offers same,

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I’ve had. Kayak is terrible to get to. In spite of all the push ads I’ve received from them they have not responded and customer service telephone numbers give out wrong information and Europcar refuses to attend to my rental agreement changes stating that I’ve booked a 3rd party such as Kayak. So you guys do not add value. You just make life more difficult for car renters

Terrible experience, I arrived 30 mins late because of a flight delay. I attempted to contact Europcar several times with no answer. Upon arrival I was told “we gave your car away because we didn’t think you were coming”.

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..
