They had blocked funds in my credit card for two weeks as guarantie of stay, and asked to pay final bill when leaving. In result I have to spend double price
The restaurant was fantastic. Excellent food & service. breakfast was a bit expensive and free WIFI only available in lobby/bar.
Exterior design of building and interior design of rooms and communal parts. Breakfast buffet varied and plentiful.
everything was great
Beautiful Hotel combining "old" stones to modern/design furniture. Very clean, quite and staff very friendly. Great lounge bar and Restaurant is excellent. Location is ok as well, walking distance to centre +/- 20 min, but S-Bahn station just around the corner.
Water-tower location and design/decor. Location is hard to find (if driving, get detailed instructions) and a bit of a walk from the center.
Everything was good but the breakfast was excellent
every thing a very spesiel hotel
Excellent. It was four star and the price was 3 star but I believe that this was the hotel had just opened. I suspect that the price will increase.
Building, architecture, interiors, brunch, helpful and positive staff. Cocktails at the bar deserve to be better. Lighting there was poor.
The location. N/A
It was clean, and the people were nice, and it was close to the subway It mentioned 'wireless internet' as part of the room ammenities, but it didn't mention that is was 30 euros a day, which isn't vary fair in my opinion cause that is a big part of why I booked that particular hotel.
This is a basic, chain hotel near the Rieperbahn. We stayed one night just to see the Rieperbahn and that is the only reason to stay at this hotel. It is clean and safe but not comfortable. The room was just too small to enjoy the stay.
Facilities were good for a budget hotel. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were clean.
Clean and cheap
Ease to rail travel. A Microwave and tea making facilities should be provided in all rooms. More information on the local area provided to rooms - value for money restuarants etc.
the room is kept clean and the staff is very accomodating
great hotel for city and night life easy to get to from airport none
friendly, close to the city center toilets not cleaned beds broken
Good location and excellent for travelling to other parts of the city.
I'ts close location to the Autobahn Parking space in Hotel Compounds is very restricted
Clean, friendly, quick service during breakfast, good location. No air conditioning in room, only noisy fan. Don't stay in this hotel when it is hot outside. When it is cool outside, I will come back.
Enjoyed the Miniatur Wundeland which is the reason we stopped in Hamburg. The location was easy to get to and the hotel staff helped guide us there so we had no worries of traveling around Hamburg. The location was good for us since we traveled by train.
Correctness of staff and comfy rooms No parking despite booking.com stated there would be
I like the friendliness of ALL the staff that I met. All of them make me feel very welcomed. I find the soap container to be placed too far from the shower area making it very difficult to reach during shower. Otherwise, the room is perfect.
decent location, and the staff were friendly enough, close to the S-Bahn and overground services, and very convenient for the Nordbank Arena. my room - very small bed, I had to pull the mattress onto the floor to be able to fully lie on it. a very very small room, also very warm room, no air conditioning (that I could see) and since the room was on the ground floor, facing the road and train station, I couldn't open the window. I had a poor night's sleep.
short distance to the train station
The position of the hotel
Brilliant location and good value. No
hotel staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable
Excellent room- very big, clean, warm, nice design, comfort, quiet . Nice hotel staff, helpful. Good location. Great value for money! Absolutely recommend no hair dryer
Very good relation price/quality practical, clean and sufficient spacious rooms Bathroom supplies (towell, hair dryer, ...)to be asked seperately
Good clean rooms and value for money No
Helpful english-speaking personell, nice cosy rooms. Hotel is worth it's fares. Breakfast is rather messy. Tiny free-of-charge parking along the street.
big rooms, helpfull staff, parking (not for free but secure and next to the hotel), good location close to the tube station. the first room they gave us was not ready at 16:00, when we arrived, and the second room was not very clean. Check in time is 15:00 and check out time is 10:00, if you want to keep the room longer you have to pay 5 euro per person.
The hotel was clean and well located. The staff was very friendly. The room big and comfortable The elevator in the hall take a while to come. Only two towels were provided and for a couple are not enough. Even if we don´t have much to complain about noisy neighbours we would like to suggest the hotel to keep young guests in the lower floors and couples and families in the upper floors.MAKE Sure to put the "do not disturb" sign outside the door otherwise the housekeeper tries to get in every 5 minutes
quite clean, free parking and very cheap Note this is a hostel! not really clear in description but very much unsuitable for business travellers! Could be more clearly diplayed! Only kids running around
Big, clean and new rooms. Close to public transportation. Nothing
The room was very clean and a great size for a family of 5. Staff was extremely helpful with directions and advice. This worked great for us.
The room was spacious and clean. There was a Guest kitchen where you could prepare simple meals, a microwave and also a refrigerator.
The hotel is located along the Elbe river, in a quiet neighborhood outside the center, which we enjoyed very much as wanted to have a peaceful relaxing stay The deco, the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere, value added services (arrangement for 'surprise' birthday cake, cleaning of the car windows overnight in garage, just to list a fewe) etc etc were just fantastic ...this is certainly a top quality hotel. We were looking forward to dining at their restaurant as they had good reviews. We tried to make a reservation upon arrival but were told that it was fully booked for the next two days. At the end, the waitlist had cleared and we had a dinner there but were not too impressed with the quality - and we thought 4.5 hours for 4 course dinner was a little too long. Surely there are people who enjoy long dinner but we thought they could consult the guests as 45min waiting time between the courses is rather unusual. Also, we was told that as the menu was hand written (which is nice), they needed to have 2 day priopr notice to prepare a 'lady's menu' which we thought was quite surprising for the restaurant of that reputation/price.
Superb service, super restaurant, good public transportation to city center, comfortable Way to room was unwieldy
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great German wines in the bar.
Good atmosphere The fact that some rooms are located in another building(s) across the streets.
I thought the staff were very attentive, helpful, friendly - always smiling/genuine and professional. The atmosphere was welcoming and not at all pretentious. The breakfast was delicious and the wine selection at Kleines Jacob was impressive. The overall stay was extremely pleasant, and I would defiinitely go back. I would have liked it if the shuttle bus option was available throughout the day or at least all morning. Also the juice at breakfast should be freshly pressed for a hotel of this standard.
The quiet neighbouring area.... This old hotel could have been a traditional place with 19C mood but the hotel owner seems to have renovated it into a luxruious and rich but souless place--in terms of the hotel's interior and the service of the staff. I feel like I am staying at any of 5-star hotels in downtown of a big metropolitan city like New York, Singapore, Tokyo or Seoul. No touch of Hamburg.
Hotel has an excellent location and wonderful staff very attentive to every detail. I travel about 160 days a year so I stay in hotels as much as I stay at home. This hotel is one of the nicest I stayed in. In the little restaurant they allowed smoking which can ruin a great dinner
Definitely an off-the-beaten-track, cosy and quaint haven of peace away from the bustling atmosphere of a modern and big city like Hamburg - hotel offerred to pick me up from the nearest train station
nice, spacious and clean hotel room & bathroom, quiet, very friendly personnel further away from city center as expected
The staff was really nice and frinedly!!! Location is ok but for somebody who wants to be close to the center (Jungfernstieg etc.) there are probably better options in the city center
Keen and friendly young staff. Food of good quality and value (excellent Caesar salad; good breakfast). Stylish modern design. Huge room. Nice bar. Free internet access. Enjoyed staying there. Location is in a rather run-down area away from city centre (which helps to keep the price down, but wouldn't suit everyone. Fitness room poorly equipped for a hotel of this quality: didn't even have a treadmill. Bathrooms well furnished, but the showers were unusually cramped.
I'm a frequent traveller (in average 1-2 night per week in a hotel), but unfortunately HH Boston is a rare example of excellence in the hotel world. From arrival til departure only the best possible service, food, room. And that without costing one arm and a leg... I can't await to get back soon ! There was absolutely no such thing !
the large room and the special decoration no swimming pool
Personal reception, great rooms and shower, good breakfast noise of the elavator in the room.
The facilities are very nice and the rooms are large. The housekeeping was not great. They sometimes would forget to bring towels.
design, new hotel, bar, wireless facilities location not optimal
Helpful staff and chic design of hotel rooms and lobby area.
easy and good hotel for low cost
Overall it was pretty well-maintained. The after hours check-in process was easy and we did not have any issues. Staff was friendly. The rate was also fair compared to the cost of surrounding hotels. It's a good, inexpensive place to stay for a night or two, especially if you're just looking for a room to sleep in and not a place to spend a lot of time indoors. It was a little too bare bones. If there was just a bit more comfort and modern touches added to the room it would have made a huge difference. Also, the inside of the comforter was dirty. The cover and the sheet were clean but you could easily see that the inside was not. Also, the room was a bit too small to accomodate a young couple. It really is geared more for a single traveller. It isn't a place I would recommend for a long-term stay.
It was near the centre as indicated by the site. The hotel was comfortable and had good value for money. Wireless internet was available though very expensive. The staff was helpful - when I complained that the light in my room was not functioning well, I was given another room immediately. Wireless internet was too expensive! 2 euros for 15 minutes is a bit excessive in my opinion.
The hotels in Hambug are typically expensive, but, thank God exists the GHOTEL hotel and living. Its is a fully fledged 4 star hotel at an affordable price!! Best option in Hamburg for normal tourists and businessmen. None.
Nice, friendly and helpfull service in reception and in breakfast-room, very quite location and easy approach from the airport and from the center The window directly on the intern roof, was afraid to open it in fully. If the mineral water isn't finished, don't expect to obtain a new one on the next day.Access to the hotel should be bettter described on the website.Problems with the lift.
Windows all face into a central courtyard, so its surprisingly quiet. - Number code for the elevator (access to hotel) did not work - but there's a staircase on the far side of the building, so I did get in. - Passages heavily smell of cigarette smoke.
with it's reasonable price with full facility, i'm really feel satisfactory
The breakfast There was no one working in the reception at the time I arrived and there was only a sign in German how to enter the hotel since the door was locked. In the end I had to call from my italian mobile to get in. It would have been good with the information also in english.
Very clean. People at reception where very polite and breakfast was good. The free travel card is a strong plus None real bad points really. It's a business hotel so it lacks a bit of personality. However, I was travelling with work
Hotel is centrally located in Altona and close to train station Internet rate quoted price excluding breakfast, but breakfast charged at full rate if taken or not
We booked "smoking room" by internet but we was told to stay "non-smoking room".
Ease of location Bistro food poor choice. Quality of bed quilt and pollows absolute rubbish.
it was clean, near the train station, friendly staff.
Free public transport card, proximiy subway Standard room: plastic bathroom, fixed standard furniture
It was well located and there is free public transport on the underground with your room card. The first night we were provided with 3 double rooms having requested 3 twin rooms, which we were moved to the second day. Also breakfast is not included in the price but you are given breakfast vouchers with your room key at check in and are charged for breakfast whether you have it or not. Staff were very unhelpful when we were checking out and laughed at us when we questioned this.
24 Hour bar where one could relax
It s not possible to secure motorbikes Parking only for cars
Great location nex to Altona staion. Nice quiet modern hotel. Make sure you get a breakfast voucher if you have paid in advance . Otherwise they will try to make you pay again......!!
The hotel is not very close to the center, a few bus stations from the s-bahn station Holsterstrasse. The good thing: unlimited free Internet. It is time to make a renovation in the hotel. Also they should bye a better Internet rooter.
interesting location poor breakfast as a lot of guests had their breakfast at 830 hours and tha personnel did not provide enough at the breakfast buffet
Good selection for breakfast. Free fixed pc internet. No restaurant and not much in the area. Small, indifferent bar.
Staff was prepared and came up with a better solution on our booking on arrivals. They got free internet that worked fast and had a very good breakfast
The Staff was very kind and helpfull dusty room old shower / toilett facilities no lift into the 6th floor so i had to carry my suitcase up the stairs in general its a very old hotel, carpets in the hallways are dirty and smelly overpriced for what u get
Nice room and minibar. Bikes were offered to stall in garage The bed was not so comfortable, size ok, but hard sleeping.
The underground car park was a huge benefit and made us feel our car was completely safe. This did cost £7 extra. The out of date bathroom was surface clean, as was the bed linen but the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years (although I think it needs replacing). The beds were also in need of replacement. Altogether I think this hotel was out of date and in desperate need of refurbishment. Very disappointing for the money we paid!
nice location with lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Easy connection with public transport to the center. For a 4 stars hotel Nordic Hotel Domicil is very shabby and old. Its more like a 3 stars budget hotel. We reserved a 3 person bedroom so that our 4 year old dauther would have her own bed, we got a room with 2 separate beds and one camping bed in the middle. The camping bed was so old that the springs was jumping out. For our 4 months old baby we got a baby bed that she could not sleep in since the middle leg at the bottom was sticking up. So we ended up sleeping all 4 in the two separate beds we pushed together since the manager was not available until the next morning.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The rate was very reasonable for the facilities provided. I was able to have breakfast on an outside terrace on the fifth floor with a fantastic view of the city and harbour. Whilst a little way out of the centre public transport is excellent in Hamburg and a bus for either the U-Bahn or the city centre stopped every few minutes directly outside the hotel. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the Schanzenviertel which has a great selection of whacky bars and restaurants. The room was not air-conditioned and temperatures rose to 33 degrees while I was there.
Not a thing Everything dirty , unfriendly staff
Easy access to the old town by bus #3
The needed refurbishment is going on reception should also happen in room. Recptionist was great and very helpful
staff wasn't all that friendly or helpful. wireless internet access was ridiculously expensive as was breakfast
nice sauna pool, open until late, which was very convenient. room and hallway was a little worn, not really at Novotel very high standards; hallways need refurnishing
Convenient for where we needed to go, welcoming entrance hall, decent dinner and excellent breakfast buffet, surprisingly quiet rooms
Location and Noise from main road
parking space, public transport, sauna facilities
Staff Its litle bit far from downtow....
The swimmingpool and resturante Stains on the carpet
Breakfast was very good and rich. The maids were too noisy.
Excellent, big breakfast Spacious room Friendly staff
the personel small bed
It was a 10 minute walk from the S-bahn station (which was 2 stops away from the central station). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. There is no elevator, so you have to be fit enough or have light enough luggage to manage up 2-3 flights of stairs.
Location- short walking distance to Hamburg Messe, a lot of bars and restaurants in the vicinity, clean and well designed rooms.
A mervellous hotel and very very comfy. We have reserved apartment Eppendorf, extremely nice and comfortable. All the necessary facilities are handy.
sereen area, great rooftop view for breakfast with nice food
Nice place. Breakfest opens only at 8.00. Not suitable for business.
Excellent and very clean, all new rooms. A delightfull stay. Recommend to all.
Friendly staff; good location for St Pauli district of Hamburg; lots of restaurants in the vicinity.
the electric blinds making room so dark when sleeping. nothing to comment on
area was nice. quiet retreat in a busy district. breakfast starts not before 8am - quite late if you are on a business trip
A private Hotel/B&B with a personal touch. Great design rooms and appartments, all well planned and thought through. Great location for a city break, Hamburg's young and urban neighbourhoods around the corner. L-O-V-E-L-Y Rooms are on the small side, though not too much so. Breakfast is on the 5th floor, and although the terrace is great, it is way up w/out an elevator. Watch out with toddlers or much bagagge, try to get a room uin the 1st floor.
The hotel was comfortable for it's affordable price. If you're looking for a hotel with minimal ancilliary facilities, this is the perfect hotel. The breakfast selection of German cold cuts, cheeses, dipping sauces, breads and muesli for €9 was a good deal too. The location if perfect because it's situated adjacent to Altona train station, where you can easily take the metropolitan S-line trains to the city centre or board the InterCity Express to another city/state. There is nothing to dislike about the hotel. However, the hotel doesn't have free Internet access for the business people or the more Internet savvy customers. As for the more health oriented customers like myself, the hotel does not have any fitness facilities and there are no fitness centers nearby. There are also no parks nearby for me to do simple exercises. But, the room is huge enough for body weight exercises. In any case, these are not drawbacks in my opinion because it's a relatively cheap hotel with very basic facilities.
Best feature was near Altona train station, also good value, clean & fresh room. I will stay here on my next visit.
Very central for public transport, suprisingly good value for money A bit noisy as it is opposite the railway station, not as bad as I expected it to be though
Cheap clean accomodation. Location opposite Altona station didn't disturb sleep unduly, even with window open.
Great staff and nice accomodations. Also, really close of Altona Station, which has transportation directly to the harbor and downtown in some minutes and straight to the airport.
Very near to the train station.
Good room, interesting sight of the window to the train depo. It was not clear, why I should go to next hotel to check in and check out.
very good service from the hotle staff
The breakfast room - the atmosphere, the staff, the fresh bread and the food. Door bell to enter the hotel and lock operated by the host hotel nearby.
Stairs I have a bad knee
Beautiful guest house, near park and Elb shores (green surroundings). The room's furniture is minimal but design and neat. The free coffee machine and the service are definitive plus. It is a pity that the walls of the rooms didn't beneficiate of a correct soundproofing at renovation. You almost don't hear a thing from the street in this quiet neighbourhood, but, unfortunately, you do hear the tv sets, cellphones tones and other bathroom noises from the room next door.
Having a space to assemble our tandem. We left by taxi at 0445 and someone made us a nice bag lunch.
I liked the very clean design. The supply of dishes, cutlery etc. in our family room were not replenished after we used them. As well the convenience articles in the bathroom. The coffee machine in the lounge was not working. The choices at the breakfast buffet were limited and the same every morning.
Friendly, clean, good breakfast. Curtains were white and room was bright 6:30 am (to early). We were charged extra for children on check out, even thought we booked a family room for 2 children and 2 adults.
It is in a residential neighborhood outside of the city. It was an extremely quiet and restful place to stay.
no elevator, no restaurant
Clean, friendly staff, very good breakfast. Nice touch with the lounges with free coffee, tea and fruits. Free parking, This was a good hotel for me as I needed to be in this area for work. I would not choose it however if I were visiting the city itself. It is a bit out of the way.
Very nice clean, comfortable rooms. The hotel building is quite different from your regular chain hotel. The bars in the hallways with tea, coffee, water and fruit are perfect. A nice touch! The breakfast is good. The location is a bit remote if you target Hamburg downtown.
Location in a quiet neighbourhood. Very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to public transport. no dislikes.
clean and modern rooms too small. hotel far from everything.price too high for minimal concept.
Courteous and attentive staff. Very well appointed rooms and facilities. Spectacular view of the Elbe valley. Gourmet cuisine. Stellar location. The downside: The "wellness and spa" facilities listed in the hotel's description do NOTexist; there is no sauna/steam bath, etc., only beauty treatments/massages are offered. For me, this is not a spa/wellness center where guests can relax. Guests do not stay in the spectacular Wilhelminian main building, but rather in a contemporary guest house built in recent times from which there is no view of the Elbe.
Very quiet and comfortable, great location and good restaurant
Staff were very attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Little comforts like fresh fruit and chocolates every day. Diffucult to work out where the reception was if you did not enter via the garage, Also it wasn't clear that the car park was part of the hotel complex.
Pleasant staff and happy to help with any requests - particularly impressed by thier courteousness Memorable building and spectacular view of Elbe and river traffic
Location The air did not work.
good service, nice restaurant
Rooms comfortable and clean, restaurant good and easy bus trip to city centre. Most important ample car parking.
evrything was perfect
room was clean breakfast was not included in price - in the US it would have been. I had to pay to use internet - again, in the US this is free. The room was facing a loud street and the temp. in room was too warm but could not be fixed - so I opened window but then it was too loud from street noise.
room is very clean internet is not convenient
Suggest that when the pay view botton i entered on the remote control then the room number has to be entered before the channel will be shown.
very nice, clean and stylish hotel. room ar confortable and good size, staff helpful
Silence and quietness
the big bed, the toilet was good, but we didn't stay verry long at the hotel the cleaning woman, the man who came in my room at 8'o clock in the morning and wake me up
The room and the view from the room was great. no breakfast - but in the end no problem
Breathtaking view on the harbour, at least if you are lucky enough to have a room at the front side.
The design of the hotel and the proximity to the Harbour in Hamburg No staff to help, no cleaning daily, really noisy cobblestones in the streat outside (cars sounded like trucks - all night long)
Spacious and modern apartments.
since years I enjoy to stay here for some days the weather :-))))
Spacious Room, modern elements Water in tub was difficult to manage. Either too hot or too warm.
I only like thr cofee machine
The location and spaciousness of the rooms. It also has a very good deli below, which being an apartment was useful.. It could use more instructions/ comments etc in English.
Excellent rooms and good value for money, in particular the hotel service and staff were excellent and could not be faulted.
The situation; rooms nicely furnished No air conditioning, and very noisy street in the night, so it was not possible to sleep with open windows. Receptionist was not on duty as advertised, very poor assistance from her part and rude response to our remarks.
location: near to rail link to city centre. Price: very reasonable. Nothing specific - the room was good value for the price paid
The staff are all very friendly and very helpful. Mu colleague Mr Kramer stayed in yor hotel and I made the reseravations. The total cost of Mr Kramers stay was charged to the company credit card. Can you please post me all the credit card invoices? He has been statying with you since August 2010 and will be there until mid December 2010.
peaceful, simplicity staff do not know english at all
Nicely decorated hotel, quiet, free parking, good breakfast, friendly staff.
The turn of the century ambience is welcomiing, the room was comfortable, not noisy and very clean, the setting of the small villa in its private grounds was nice, and the staff helped me immediately and very willlingly on the two occasions where I needed their assistance.
badly managed and run down hotel, can not be recommended
Staff was polite and helpful. Nice rooms and rich breakfast. Very close to the bus and train station. Maybe a little pricey for the location.
The breakfasts, the S-bahn near, silence and large room, pets available Old furniture
